Shaun Rogers will miss the rest of the season

We should have waited a few more minutes to write our follow up post on Shaun Rogers’ injury.

Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain-Dealer now reports that the three-time Pro Bowler will miss the rest of the season with an undisclosed injury.  Rogers had his lower left leg wrapped, so speculation is that he hurt his ankle or Achilles.

The Browns lost four defensive starters to injury on Sunday.

Trailer Trash Florio is trying to tie this to staph infections.

The Browns definately didn’t need this blow. Rogers has been a top knotch entertainer for years. What a bummer to all NFL fans.

    poopy pants.

Well, if it’s not staph now, it will be soon.

I wish him a speedy recovery. Ahtyba Rubin gets a lot of time in Rogers’s place, so at least he will get more experience.
I’m more concerned about Brodney Pool. If diagnosed as having a concussion, it could be career-ending. Shaun is a competitor, so he will work his ass off to rehab and come back like Robaire Smith did.

Dont u love how any fan of a bum ass team will say things like, “what a bummer to all NFL fans” as if the rest of the fan base really gave a sh!t about parody or being competetive… Or wishing on a bright star somewhere that someone really gives a sh!t… No dice don’t wear a mask, say ur a browns fan… Give it a rest…

  9. jaydee327 says: Nov 29, 2009 10:53 PM

its parity, numb nuts. parody is when you mock something. Unless you were calling the browns a parody of an nfl team, in which case you are clever. but I doubt it.

vaxman… how can you not like Rogers?
I’m a vikings fan til the day they are sold or the day I die. I just enjoy entertaining football.
    Peace.

All I have to say is that karma is a real biatch and after that cheap horse collar on Palmer that fat p.o.s. got his, not to mention the field goal the idiot caused.. This idiot epitomizes the browns organization.

  12. BengalsDouche2 says: Nov 29, 2009 11:18 PM

Isn’t Shaun the one who made the cheap horse-collar tackle on Palmer today? I was at the game so I didn’t get a good look at it. If so, Karma is a b!tch. If not, hope you get better soon. lol

  13. js136202 says: Nov 29, 2009 11:42 PM

The cheap ass horse collar on Palmer…You know the horse collar was invented bc your safety used it to injure several players, right? Oh, that’s right, that was years before you had jumped on the Bungles bandwagon. Palmer is a shell of his former self and the Bungles won’t go anywhere in the playoffs.
You know what’s cheap? Spitting on women in clubs like your RB. Moron.

  14. COWBELLFEVER says: Nov 30, 2009 1:05 AM

KARMA BITCH NICE HORSE COLLAR TRY TO KILL CARSON CAUSE U DIDNT COME HERE

  15. BengalsDouche2 says: Nov 30, 2009 7:28 AM

Years before I jumped on the Bengals bandwagon? Nice ignorant statement JS13. We’ve had season tickets for the Bengals for well over 20 years. No we didn’t have Roy Williams when he was playing dirty. No I wasn’t happy about the pick-up. But he hasn’t done anything wrong since he has gotten here. Us as fans have no say in who our team picks up but that doesn’t mean I’m going to stop rooting for them. So yeah, go somewhere else to bitch and moan. Rogers made a dirty play on our QB and he deserved what he got. Good riddance a$$hole. I dunno who you root for but obviously it’s someone we’ve beaten this year, otherwise you wouldn’t be in here acting like you have a tampon stuck up your a$$

  16. KennyPowers says: Nov 30, 2009 9:21 AM

Haha…this coming from “BengalsDouche”. Let’s face it, Bengals fans are among the most fair-weathered in any major sport. I don’t think anyone will argue this except delirious Bengals fans. If you’ve been a fan for well over 20 years, good for you, but you’re in the minority.
Rogers didn’t make a dirty play on your QB. It was a horsecollar play that just a few years ago was legal. He was simply doing everything he could to make a play on the QB. He got penalized, correctly, and it cost the Browns 3 points. The people saying this is karma are idiots (there are tons of them on this site). Shaun Rogers is one of the best players in the NFL and it’s a shame that he’s on the sidelines the rest of the year.
For Bengals fans to cry karma on anything is actually pretty hilarious. True karma will come in the form of a 1st round beat down for rostering so many scumbags…

  17. gangsterofboats says: Nov 30, 2009 10:23 AM

    Wow this one degraded quickly.
Full Disclosure – wagon jumping browns fan here…
Why is the horse-collar tackle a dirty play? It was legal a relatively short time ago. What – it is going to hurt somebody? Anybody here for outlawing all tackles that might hurt somebody? If so every time anything comes in contact with a helmet it should be a 15 yard unsportsman like penalty. That puts guys on the shelf week after week.
The Bengals are clearly the better team. More power to you. But to wish a fat guy a broken leg because of that play is weak.

  18. CurseofBoJackson says: Nov 30, 2009 11:22 AM

The horse collar is dirty because it’s illegal Kenny. As for your claim of “Bungle” bandwagon jumping, I would venture to say the exact opposite about the fan base as a whole. After nearly twenty years of futility at the hands of a man who thinks he knows football, the Bengals sold out damn near every single game (save a for a few in the really lean Klingler days) every year. Your assumption is mistaken, come stronger.

  19. scottlarock78 says: Nov 30, 2009 12:06 PM

You Bungles fans are nutty. If the your team was that good they would of won last week and should have blown out my lowly Browns. If the Browns had any offence the Bungles would have lost big. 110 yrd passing from an elite qb. Out in the first round of the playoffs.
Horse collars happen. Its not dirty. Hes making a play. And all you Bungles fans are fairweather. Every time i make the trip to Cinci for the game there are always as many Browns fans in the stands(if not more) then the Bungles. The Bungles will always be second fiddle to the Browns in Ohio. Thats the way it is.

  20. Audient says: Nov 30, 2009 12:42 PM

I’m a Browns fan, so I am probably biased, but I did not believe that Rogers’ play on Palmer was intended to hurt him. Rogers was rightly penalized for it. He was trying to tackle him, but he got him by the shoulder pads. That’s illegal, but when you are reaching for a guy, you are reaching for whatever you can get. And I don’t view Rogers’ season ending injury as any kind of payback, karmic, cosmic, or otherwise.
As a fan of the Browns, I was yelling at my TV because Rogers could have just chased Palmer out of bounds, and that would have been the end of the half. Instead, we got a 15 yard penalty and a no-time final play, allowing Graham to kick a 52 yard field goal.
But I am not going to call his play dirty when it was just boneheaded.

  21. CincyAllDaWay says: Nov 30, 2009 12:55 PM

scottlarock78…..what the hell r u smoking a$$hole. If the Browns had any offense you would have won??? If a frog had wings he wouldn’t bump his a$$ when he hopped. You didn’t have any offense because you faced a defense that handed you your ass everytime you looked up you idiot. We only had 110 yrds passing because we ran the ball down your throat for over 200 yrds retard! And horse collars only happen when players do it! You don’t apply a horse collar by accident douch bag. As far as this fan base…we weren’t the ones crying and threating to sit out games. We took all of the losing years like MEN and still showed up to support our team, not crying like little pussies the way you jerk offs do. There have never been more Browns fans in the stands than Bengals fans ever, including games in Cleveland you clown. The Browns will always be dead last in the division. That’s the way it really is!! Typical response to a loss from the armpit of the nation….ah Cleveland!

  22. scottlarock78 says: Nov 30, 2009 1:38 PM

Cincialldaway….Thats funny coming from someone who lives in kentucky you hillbillie. And i have been to games in Paul BROWN statium and was in sections with all BROWNS fans. Stop drinkin the whitelighting and kissing your sister and open your eyes. I know the Browns are bad but there are alot of Browns fans in Cinci, There are no Bungles fans in Ceveland.

  23. CincyAllDaWay says: Nov 30, 2009 2:55 PM

scottlarock……you REALLY ARE A DUMBA$$. Brownie fans in Cincy….LMAO….what a maroon! the only Brownie fans in Cincy came down from the armpit of the nation along with you. Probably wearing Bengals jerseys to hide their shame. Face the music….You suck….you always have sucked…and you always will suck the weanie. Hell even when Cincy sucked all thru the 90′s we beat your sorry asses…..BENGALS FOREVER…BROWNIES NEVER!!

  24. gats030 says: Nov 30, 2009 4:59 PM

CincyAllDaWay, first off it’s all THE way you moron. I know over there in hick town they can’t teach you to write or read in school because your too busy jacking off the goats in farm land. It’s not going to matter in end when a Steelers lineman rolls up on Carsons leg again in the playoffs like Kimo did a few years back. Sorry I have to go now to figure out how I am going to grow a 6th finger for my ring.

  25. scottlarock78 says: Dec 1, 2009 12:34 AM

CincyAllDaWay..If Cleveland is the armpit the Cinci is the a$$hole. Checkout Brownsbackers.com for your favorite backers bars in Cinci or for you in Kentucky. Show me anything that there are Bungles fans out side of northern Kentucky and Cinci.
And fyi I live in Cleveland.

  26. KennyPowers says: Dec 1, 2009 9:24 AM

The Bengals destroyed the Browns all through the 90s….except the Browns didn’t exist for half the decade.
CincyAllDaWay is what we call a troll ladies and gentelman.
CurseofBoJackson: If Rogers play was dirty because it’s illegal, then, by your logic, all offensive lineman are dirty players once they commit a hold or false start, because it is in fact illegal.
I’m being sarcastic you idiot. The reason the horse collar was made illegal was because Roy Williams would grab onto the horse collar of a player and slide under him, using his leverage and weight to pull down the player. The way Rogers did it was completely different, albeit still illegal. He grabbed the shoulder pads/horse collar with his arm and threw Palmer to the ground without sliding under him. Yes it’s still illegal but no where close to dirty. If Roy wasn’t such a scumbag dirtball player like the rest of the Bengals (funny how he wound up there), this type of play never would’ve been made illegal in the first place.

  27. scottlarock78 says: Dec 1, 2009 2:28 PM

KebbyPowers…Dont know where you get your stats from but the Browns were 8-4 vs Cinci from 1990 till they left. Looks like you got the teams mixed up. Or maybe 4 wins for the Bungles is destroying other teams. Check your stats before you start talkin smack.
