The uneventful season of Redskins tight end Chris Cooley has reached its quiet end.
The Redskins placed Cooley on injured reserve Monday, a move that was expected after comments made by Cooley a week ago.
The medical prognosis after Cooley’s ankle injury went from “out for the season” to returning in “as soon as four weeks” and now back to out for the season again.
It doesn’t appear that Cooley suffered a setback, but the injury apparently didn’t heal as quickly as hoped and the Redskins didn’t want to risk further issue in a lost season.
Cooley caught 29 passes for 332 yards in his seven games, one of the only Redskins on offense that played up to his career norms.
That would be because Mike’s Super Bowl pick’s season is officially over after they squandered their second NFC East game in as many weeks. No point to bringing back an injured Cooley.
can somebody please tell me what the hell is Anthony Gonzalez’s injury status ??? why is he not on IR despite missing 11 straight games (or rather 10 + some qtrs) :S
There’s just no reason or Cooley to return. The season is lost and there’s no reason to risk further injury.
