The NFL has finalized its Week 14 schedule and announced that the NFC East showdown between the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants will stay in the NBC Sunday night prime time slot on December 13.
With flexible scheduling in place, the NFL can move weak games out of the prime time slot late in the season and replace them with better games. But with Philadelphia and New York both in the NFC playoff race, the Eagles-Giants game stays in prime time.
Fox and CBS can protect a limited number of late-season games, and a league source tells PFT that for Week 14, each network protected one game: Fox protected the Packers-Bears game, while CBS protected the Cowboys against the Chargers.
The only change to the schedule is that the December 13 Rams-Titans game on Fox had its kickoff time moved from 1:00 p.m. Eastern to 4:05 p.m. Eastern.

"But with Philadelphia and New York both in the NFC playoff race, the Eagles-Giants game stays in prime time."
I think PFT meant to say:
"But with Philadelphia rising and New York falling off the map faster than an out of control freight train, it should be the best NFC match up that week"
Blech.
The NFC east is the most overexposed division year in, year out.
The NFL better be planning on moving that garbagefest that will be the Cowboys-Redskins game a week or two later.
Just another excuse why I won't watch Sunday Night NFC East Football!
Hey NBC, people live in the Midwest and West coast too! Stop feeding the East coast market for big ratings because you remember: You're NBC and you don't GET big ratings!
Did they not realize that the Bengals play the Vikings that day? Oops! Sorry, they're small markets!
good love to see the drunken egals fans getting pulled over on the turnpike after the game
ummmm and this is news why? the nfc east games always draw the largest ratings.
The Eagles are the Giants Daddy...
@ rickah
still dont see where philly is rising. almost lost to the redskins. hmmm
@Chapnasty
Almost lost to the Redskins? Then what would you call Dallas' one point margin of victory against Washington last week? Would that be "Just getting by with dumb luck to squeak out a victory against a team that is almost on par with Dallas?"
The Egirls are no ones daddy
How soon you all forget that the Giants had to close down the current stadium due to large stain in the middle of the field that is Mcscab after 11 sacks
Bring the dog killer bring the drunked ahole fans so we can whip your punk asses on last tiime in the Swamp
The Giants Daddy is Welligton Mara not a bunch of row house dog killers
Living must be another one of those in Philly who has no idea who his daddy is
lol @ "almost" meaning anything in the NFL. A win is a win. Patriots almost lost to the Bills, Saints almost lost to the Dolphins, and the Colts almost to lose to just about everyone. It's the NFL.
Naturally FOX would protect a high ratings game like the Packers/Bears game.
The teams are #1 and #2 in World Championships and have large followings. The ratings are always excellent.
Since the first meeting was prime time, Fox was not going to let go a of a huge money maker.
It is all about ratings, and America wants to see the Packers and Bears in the NFL's oldest rivalry.
@ bob nelson
What is a world championship? Is this the 1930's? They aren't 1 and 2 in superbowl wins and while I respect your service for our country in WWI, their championships that dont start with "super" and end with a "bowl" are completely irrelevant.
@ mattitude
Please find my reference to Dallas being elite and that their win against the Redskins was respectable. I'll save you the time, I never said it. In fact I spent most of the afternoon throwing up as I watched the sorriest football game of my life. I think Dallas did beat Philly though... and the Redskins, so I guess that would indicate that neither team is on par with the redskins but slightly behind? I'm just sayin.
*excuse me* that should have been "neither team is on par with the cowboys but slightly behind"
I know you didnt write this post but Florio please correct me if Im wrong but why would Fox protect the Packers vs Bears game? Wouldnt they have made out better if NBC for some reason wanted to show that game in primetime over the Giants vs Eagles game?
Im pretty sure more people will be watching the Eagles vs Giants game who are 2 east coast teams in the playoff and NFC East division hunt then the Packers vs Bears game. And because their both NFC teams the Eagles vs Giants game would be moved to fox in place of the Packers vs Bears game.
So I just dont get the logic of Fox wasting one of their flex schedule blocks on that Packers Bears game that will probly get lower ratings then the Eagles Giants game.
Here is the good news no JOe Buck Troy achemen or god for bid Matt Millin
And again it is such fun to beep and wave at the drunken egal fans on the side of the turnpike with the NJSPD locking them up for DWI
Driving while an Idiot
Giant fan asking why they would keep this game in Primetime. The Giants suck 7-9 in last 16 is a pretty good indication.
the titans-rams should be moved to the primetime. after all, who doesnt want to see a rematch of the 1999 super bowl
Nothing is better then watching Giants fans beating the traffic in Primetime.
yeah big blue... eagles is actually spelled egals. good job. another example of why we're proud to not be giants fans; you're idiots, to boot.
Let me just remind all Giant fans and all Cow fans, that when dealing directly with the Eagles to try and win or go to the playoffs, that they, (or as some would like to think of themselves as part of the team), YOU lose, same with the cowblows. Eagles are the daddies of the NFC East. 23-13 & 44-6
@chapnasty
See, even you get lost in your short-bus logic. And why do you bother to voice your opinion in a topic that's read by people who don't give a damn about what you think?
@mattitude....then why do you bother to respond!!?? And chapnasty is right...if a little overanxious...the nfc east blows
