Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew said that the team needs to figure out a way to play better on the road after losing 20-3 to the 49ers.
Down 17 on the first play of the fourth quarter, the Jaguars went for it on fourth down and saw QB David Garrard get sacked and fumble the ball away.
Said Jaguars T Eben Britton of allowing six sacks, “I don’t know if the communication wasn’t there or what. We got David hit way more than he needed to be. I
don’t know why.”
Jaguars K Josh Scobee missed two field goals to play his part in the mistake-filled game.
Jaguars WR Torry Holt moved into 10th place on the career receiving yardage list.
The 49ers threw 29 passes in the first half as offensive coordinator Jimmy Raye successfully opened up the offense.
TE Vernon Davis dropped three passes, but made one of the biggest 49ers plays of the day when he caught a 30-yard pass to convert a fourth down late in the first half.
Monte Poole of the Mercury News thinks that 49ers coach Mike Singletary showed he’s willing to change in Sunday’s victory.
49ers DE Justin Smith and LB Parys Haralson each had 1.5 sacks and LB Manny Lawson added a sack and a forced fumble.
49ers QB Alex Smith completed 27 of 41 passes for 232 yards and two touchdowns.
Yo Whiner fans- YOU’RE NOT GOING TO THE PLAYOFFS! 8- 8 won’t make it! You still have a crappy QB, an inconsistent line and RB, a puppet owner, Jed Clampet Jr., out dated OC and a corporate motivational coach.
We’ll see you watch good teams in the playoffs.
Tim Tebow to the rescue!!!!
The Jaguars need the offensive line to perform better, but with the youth, the new faces and the injuries thats def not happening until next season. As for wideouts they got a few guys people are starting to pay attention to, especially Sims-Walker. Rashad Jennings is like Brandon Jacobs and will only get better, the Jags just need to get back to their roots and play tough, monster football. They used to out muscle other teams with their size….lately they have just been taking everybodys’ muscle right up their @$$.
Brad Meester could not read the 49ers defensive fronts and failed on every important down to slide the protection to pick up the heat. Manuwai looked fat and slow and Uche wasn’t much better. Two rookie offensive tackles struggled. An offensive playcaller with no creativity. Zero. No Mike Thomas end arounds. No read option look that they ran at NYJ. No Zach Miller involvement by creationg mismatches through schemes. No third tackle lined up at TE as we had in the previous two weeks. It seems like there are more weeks than not that the offense is not prepared and they are outschemed and unimaginative. And the pass defense is just a disaster. The Jags need a physical playmaker at safety (Eric Berry) or another big DT (McCoy, Suh, Cody) in the first round. Second round they need the most physical interior OL available. In the 3rd they need the same as the second round. Draft a QB in the 4th round.
RaiderChile: You’re right on 1 thing…the 49ers not going to the playoffs this year! But they are heading in the right direction! And MAYBE just MAYBE! If the 9ers can beat the Seahawks this week and the Vikings beat the Cardinals…then all the sudden that horrible 49ers team is hosting a Monday Night game week 14 with 1st place on the line against the Cardinals….Doesn’t seem so far fetched does it?
Anyway…they are still a year away….I think Alex Smith can be the guy. He’s looked pretty good when the open up the offense and let him throw. They need to work on the offensive and defensive line still! Which they have 2 first round picks next year! It’s looking good on this side of the bay!

No no. Jimmy Clausen to the rescue!!!!
