Jon Beason arrested

Just as the “Days Without an Arrest” meter was getting close to the all-time record, it finally can be re-set to zero.

Panthers linebacker Jon Beason has been arrested for aggravated assault, per WCNC-TV, Charlotte’s NBC affiliate.

Via WCNC’s Twitter feed, the arrest arises from a November 15 incident during which Beason allegedly punched a man.

Beason was released in exchange for a written promise to appear in court.

A leader of the Panthers’ defense, Beason is regarded as one of the best young linebackers in the league.

If convicted of the charges, Beason will be subject to discipline under the league’s Personal Conduct Policy.

I bet some fan was giving him a hard time so he beat the hell out of him. Good for you Jon.

Thank you Mr. Beason for resetting the turd-o-meter. You are now part of an exclusive fraternity. I wonder if PFT can come up with some kind of trophy for these occasions. ;-)

No doubt, chapnasty. Whoever got their ass beat undoubtedly had it coming.

“Arrest Meter”? What, NBC has something against “Turd”? It’s one thing to take the money, Napoleon. Selling out entirely is just plain whore-ish.

Sounds like something your team would do.

He should have saved his beating for his own QB

  12. Phokus says: Nov 30, 2009 5:48 PM

i find it hilarious that beason dogged his private workout with the pats because he didn’t think the pats were ‘loyal’ to their vets and didn’t want to be drafted by them. Between him and brandon merriweather, i’m so glad the pats got merriweather instead of this bum. Hope he’s enjoying that sinking ship in the panthers.

Do you want to tell us what it was at, and maybe what the record was? Just a thought.

I’m hearing from my “sources close to the organization” that he was at a skrip club, makin it rain. Just sayin.

  22. roscoe says: Nov 30, 2009 6:21 PM

No offense, but if I were Beason and Delhomme was my QB I’d be punching people too.

  23. brasho says: Nov 30, 2009 6:29 PM

It’s funny how a defense with so many superstars and up-and-coming stars can be so average.
When John Fox gets fired then the Bucs can raid some of their coaching talent (Meeks) nd get back to winning.

Every now and then i think that maybe you’ve hit a plateau of stupid, that you have finally reached your peak performance and are settling in, then a comment like this comes out of left field and you somehow raise the bar some more. I’m not sure if you should be congratulated for reaching unattainable heights, of if you should be condemned, due to the fact that there is always the risk you might accidentaly pass on your genetic material. either way, one could assume racial profiling had NOTHING to do with it, since assault is assault no matter what color your skin is, unless of course he beat up someone just because they where a different race, but that seems unlikey. i would imagine football players are about as color neutral as they come.

Does anything freaking good ever happen to NFL players at a strip club? U would think they would get a clue.

  26. scrapdawg12 says: Nov 30, 2009 6:53 PM

I’d get arrested to in order to get out of Carolina. They stink. He wants to play for the Raiders or Bengals.

  27. chapnasty says: Nov 30, 2009 6:58 PM

    @ Igottz5onit
Um you are obviously retarded but I’ll bite. If a member of the Cowboys were arrested it would be drug related, likely coke and it would have happened in the mid 90′s. God some people on here are so dumb it is sad.

  28. Rev. Dr. HollywoodWags says: Nov 30, 2009 7:16 PM

Hey Mike, what happened to the arrest-o-meter?
NBC making you heel like a mangy little dog?

  29. illedran says: Nov 30, 2009 7:20 PM

    @ phokus
You better check your history.Look back at the UM vs Florida international game in 2006.That guy swinging the helmet in the big fight.Thats your Merriweather.

  30. illedran says: Nov 30, 2009 7:23 PM

No wait.He was the guy stomping on the FI player.Ok that makes it better.

  31. nfcbeast says: Nov 30, 2009 7:29 PM

Whats with Panthers players punching p***ies all the time? Come on, face it…you suck!! Take your rage out on something other than another guys face, maybe find a singer/celebrity girlfriend….too far?…..nah.

longrodvan: ===”Does anything freaking good ever happen to NFL players at a strip club?”===
Yes, you tool, they get to see some nice pieces of ass for a while.
I suppose you’re one of these wimps who is of the opinion that NFL players need to stay at home playing Scrabble.
Also, like many have suggested, the guy that Beason punched probably had it coming to him. Our society officially started its downward spiral the moment that punching a man who deserved it started getting classified as “assault” and treated like a criminal offense.

that penetrating feeling in your anus is the telephone pole that you’ve had stuck up there for quite some time. the guy was obviously not serious. lighten up, BOB, and quit acting like a holier-than-thou douche bag.

  34. ThatLoop says: Nov 30, 2009 8:02 PM

so he wrote a bad check so what, that doesn’t mean he can be assulted by a D-bag that goes around acting like he’s the perfect citizen. if you wanna “make it rain” as this source is saying at a strip club be prepared for stupid shit to go down

  35. leem says: Nov 30, 2009 8:28 PM

Panthers are going to be hard pressed to keep calling themselves a “class organization’ if they build their franchise around wannabe thugs like beason and blindside artist lil stevie smith.
and to think some guy “had it coming” from a 6 2
240 lb. chiseled athlete is certainly lacking in the cranial capacity dept.
some guys just dont know how to handle their stuff for whatever reason.
jon should know better but clearly he doesnt.
Roger will give him a lil heads up here shortly.

    What an idiot.
And clearly the story isnt out so no one can say if the guy he assualted had it coming. Which he probs did. DONT mess with a nasty huge NFL LB you idiots, some people are still old school and/or non-pussy enough (like Beason) to put u in your place.

  37. phishyape says: Nov 30, 2009 11:29 PM

It should be noted that the individual had to persuade the police to issue a warrant and that the individual allegedly assaulted has numerous complaints and charges filed against him. He also sued a woman for assault/battery but dropped the charges. From his history I would doubt that this claim is completely legitimate. Get the whole story before your start condemning Beason and pass judgement.

  38. Dawgpound2009 says: Nov 30, 2009 11:59 PM

They ought to let him fly to Cleveland and punchout Eric Mangini – it would be considered “community service” up there O:)

  39. abucsfan says: Dec 1, 2009 9:46 AM

the guy he hit seems to be a dirtbag too – maybe Beason was in the right. Hell, I’ve punched out a guy in a bar and never was arrested. Shit happens.

  40. stellaboycarl says: Dec 1, 2009 7:16 PM

    @leem
wow boy you are dumb (you must be a cowboys fan only they would say something that stupid). Beason a wannabe thug? let me to you something before you run off with another stupid line like that. IF you pay attention to the league, which you obviously don’t, you would know that in his now 3rd year this is Beason’s FIRST brush with any bit of legal trouble, AND the “incident” took place on the 15th. I am sorry it sounds like a fan who is mad that the season is trash and want to take it out on someone who isn’t causing trouble. Seriously why do you wait 15 damn days the cops knew where he was the whole time yet he is arrested 15 days later. that has fishy written all over it.
