LenDale White benched for being late to practice

While one half of the duo formerly known as “Smash and Dash” smashes NFL records, LenDale White wasn’t even allowed to play Sunday.

White was a surprise inactive, and now we know why. Jim Wyatt of the Nashville Tennessean reports that Chris Johnson’s backup was late for Saturday’s walk-through practice.

After the game, coach Jeff Fisher called the benching a “coach’s decision.” White didn’t talk either: “I don’t know. You’ll have to ask Jeff. Ask Jeff,” White said.

The Titans didn’t miss White. Johnson gained 186 yards from scrimmage, while Javon Ringer replaced White and gained a yard on his only carry.

Johnson’s emergence as one of the best players in football has rendered LenDale as frivolous as a tequila diet.

White has only 61 carries after topping 200 carries the last two years.
