We heard plenty about defensive end Jeremy Jarmon in the summer because he was the only player taken in this year’s supplemental draft.
The Redskins selected Jarmon in the third round and we haven’t heard much about him since, which isn’t a surprise because he is expected to take a while to develop.
His development will be slowed down by a torn ACL, which Jim Zorn announced Monday. Jarmon recorded nine tackles and a forced fumble as a rotational reserve.
Zorn also said that Clinton Portis won’t play in Week Thirteen aainst New Orleans. He is headed to Pittsburgh to be examined by concussion specialists.
The Redskins did receive some good injury news Monday. Jason Reid of the Washington Post writes that Albert Haynesworth is expected to return to the lineup and cornerback Fred Smoot also should play after missing time late in Sunday’s loss to the Eagles.
Zorn’s team has improved during the season, but has failed to close out games against the Cowboys and Eagles.
It says something about the quickly lowered expectations in Washington that the team has been lauded for playing hard despite a 3-8 record.
Didn’t want to see this.. I wanted this season to be about giving playing time to younger players that need to develop.
I am happy that we are competitive in these games, and losing them in the 4th quarter. I know some may call me fairweather for that but honestly, this season has been lost for a while and the other bad teams in the NFL aren’t doing us any favors by continuing to lose.
We need a top 5 draft pick, ideally we could work out a Matt Ryan/Sam Baker type draft, where we trade up in the first to secure our QB and a top tier o-lineman.
Seriously, what type of jackass would pick this team to win the Super Bowl? Oh wait……..
skins are going to need at least 10 need areas to even be competitive….Need a strong head coach..zorn is a joke…..management/owner is probably the worst in the league.
I foresee last in the nfc east for many years to come. the last 10 years they have 8 losing seasons and i predict the same result the next 10 too…
go boys.
Oh no! There goes the season.
*sarcasm
Bet if we were in a playoff run, portis would suddenly recover and wanna play……..
I say with Fred Davis, see if we can trade for draft picks both Portis, and maybe even Cooley (God that hurts to suggest) and load up a bunch of draft picks and rebuild the old o-line, see what QB is available, etc, but focus on retooling the offensive line. Their lack of performance has been the biggest factor in the lack of success in the last 5-7 years. It is a bitter pill to be talking like it’s the 2010 preseason already, but hey………
The question I have now is, what if they continue to improve over the last 5 games- Keep Zorn or dump him??keep Campbell or dump him????
Deadskins suck….
When will the deadskins understand you get better through the draft and not by trading for veterans on the decline and giving up draft picks?
You people don’t know what you’re talking about.
Portis is still on the roster?
Raise your hand if you thought The RedSkinneds would even break .500.
Now, raise your hand and tell us what basis you used to prognosticate THAT scenario.
Hey Florio…when are you gonna fess up to the fact that the redskins are terrible and were eliminated from contention in the offseason???
Everyone just loves to hate on the Redskins, but what isn’t mentioned is that they are probably the most injury riddled team in the NFL. Give it a break, there were plenty of reasons for this team to be optimistic at the beginning of the season. Not like anyone else in the division is going to do anything this year, especially the grossly overrated Cowboys.
come on drthunder728…everybody has injuries in the nfl….your second, third teamers are playing better than your number 1′s so what does that say about your loser organization…
I hate to hear excuses as that is a loser mentality…it is all about wins and loses so man up like the rest of us…
also, i dont hear that punk a landry talking crap this week….he is horrible too…whole org is…
Go Boys….
Boyrolls you are a total moron. If you count this year skins have 5 losing seasons since 2000. So really its 4 since they could still finish 8-8.
Besides regular season means NOTHING if you cant win in the postseason; which the cowpukes know plenty about. I wonder what the excuse will be this year.
boysroll- you homo romo lover. “Go boys”- such a faggy thing to end with. Even worse you did it twice. The skins gave you that game
Your cowboys aren’t going to the superbowl this year. Keep dreaming homo
Where do boys roll ? Probably up onto ur pencil – pediphile …
Boysroll-
You’re right… it is about wins and losses. How are those wins working out for you in January? Frankly, you got your own stuff to worry about than getting on here poking the lifeless body of the Redskins, who you managed to crush 7-6 being favored at home by 11.
Who really needs to man up here?
enough of that!!!!!!!!!let’s talk about what the redskins should do this offseason…everyone knows the Cowboys will begin their offseason at the same time, so let’s get the jump on ‘em and start planning now……………..
