"Welcome back, Mike McKenzie"

With the Patriots seemingly poised to stretch a 7-3 lead into a 14-3 bulge after a long punt return by Wes Welker gave New England possession in Saints territory, veteran cornerback Mike McKenzie got his hands on a pass from Tom Brady.

McKenzie re-signed with the Saints last week, in the midst of a rash of injuries.

And just as I was thinking the phrase, “Welcome back, Mike McKenzie,” ESPN’s Mike Tirico uttered those exact words.

The play ended, by the way, with Tom Brady moving toward McKenzie, before apparently realizing that the skirt-and-high-heels protections available to quarterbacks disappear after possession changes.  So with linebacker Scott Fujita bearing down on him, Brady opted to hit the deck.

We’re not saying the Brady was being soft.  Still, it’s a good thing that Hines Ward doesn’t play for the Patriots.

You dont have to say Brady is soft, you have us loyal followers to do it for you. Soft is an understatement, p**sy would be a far more accurate title.

I’d rather have people thinking Brady is soft than him sitting on a bench all season with his ligaments torn. Just saying.

Tom Brady is the reason that the league has gotten all up in arms about “protecting” the QB. He is a wimp, cry baby, diva who cries for a flag until he gets it. The refs listen b/c they’ve been on the NE payroll since the 2004 Super Bowl…

Call him soft and call him a pu$$y if you need but Brady has three Super Bowl rings, a smoking hot wife and more money than you guys ever will.

Who cares if Brady is soft or not, apparently the Patriots D missed the flight to New Orleans.

Soft? More like smart. If a QB gets blown up on an INT run-back, people call him an idiot.

  9. FumbleNuts says: Nov 30, 2009 9:55 PM

The addition of Mike McKenzie just makes the Saints ‘D’ that much more Dangerous.

Florio, remember your chat last night how the Patriots will absolutely beat the Saints?
Own up to your picks and quit switching sides and hope everyone forgets your arrogant responses last night…

A smart quarterback gets out of the way when the ball comes back at him. There are too many defenders on the field looking for a free shot after a turnover.

The satisfaction of the overrated Patriots getting shelled by the Who-Dat Saints is priceless.
Brady has more than one reason to “hit the deck”.
Brees is showing the world who the better QB is.
    Bow down, Tom.
