Browns safety Pool may miss season after concussion

Browns safety Brodney Pool has a history of concussions, suffering at least four in his five-year career.

The latest injury will keep him out this week against the Chargers, and coach Eric Mangini says “chances are he won’t be playing again this year.”

A second round pick in 2005, Pool suffered a concussion on his first pro play.  The Cleveland Plain-Dealer believes the recurring problem could threaten the starter’s career.  Pool was scheduled to be a free agent at year’s end.

Mike Adams and receiver/safety Mike Furrey are candidates to replace Pool in the lineup.

The coach is an asshole. The OC is a moron. The record is 1-10. The team is a joke. The QBs are busts. J. Lewis is totally out of gas. Shaun Rogers broke his leg. Pool, once again, has a concussion.
Pretty much the only thing left is for a giant sinkhole to open up under Cleveland Browns Stadium.

So… Mangini thinks he;’s good to practice without pads then…

Better retired and living until 70-80 rather than being dead at 50 or a practical vegetable the rest of your life.
If I was Pool, I’d strongly consider getting all the evaluations I could done before I set another foot on the field. While NFL money is great, some things just aren’t worth it.

OK, come on, where are all the assholes questioning this guy’s toughness? It’s funny how Ben gets called out for sitting last week, and no one has said shit about this guy, Portis or Westbrook. I hate to say it, but it looks like the Browns’, Redskins’ and Eagles’ players have more class than the Steelers. And I’m a Steeler fan. Hines Ward has earned his nickname “Whines Hard.”

This guy could turn out to be a vegetable in the later years of his life. Time to find a new job.

I think the only real question here is… Which former Jet will be lining up at Strong Safety for the rest of the season?

Goodbye Pool, hello Eric Berry! Now if the Browns could only get 21 other good players…

Now Pops Adams seems like a nice guy, but i don’t think he’s a starting free safety in the NFL.
Mike Furrey?….is Mike Martz running the defense?
