Braylon Edwards follows the bouncing ball

During a largely uneventful first quarter of Thursday night’s NFL Network game between the Jets and the Bills, receiver Braylon Edwards found himself wide open for a potential 84-yard touchdown pass.

And as the ball descended for what would have been an impressive over-the-shoulder catch, it bounced.

Right off Braylon’s face mask.

Needless to say, he didn’t catch it.

Somewhere, Troy Williamson is saying, “The dude should have caught that one.”

The game currently is tied at three.

    That was pretty freakin funny.

The same guy that taught Jose Conseco how to catch a fly ball also taught Braylon Edwards how to catch a football.

I am so mad that the Browns traded him away! He is the best. Noone drops passes like he does.

At least the Browns forum is happy for a change!

Thats exactly what I said when I saw that. Troy Williamson.
But he was probably asking himself, “Doesn’t this guy have anything original? Thats my signature move!”

poor guy. i sympathize…when i play with my friends i burn everyone but my hands are awful
braylon just needs a year or two working with cris carter. think about it, he mentored larry fitz as a child, and he helped randy moss during his rookie year. theyre considered some of the best hands in the history of the nfl (see; NFL’s Top 10) if edwards could catch he would be a top 5 wr. count it.

    It’s a great non-catch.

Florio, learn me something here. Braylon scores with around 1 minute left in the first half. they mark him down, so the clock keeps moving. the Jets take a timeout with :44 left. the booth calls down for a review. the play is overturned, but the time isn’t restored. why? and the jets are also charged with a timeout. but the TO and 15ish seconds don’t evaporate if the play in question is reversed. so why is this scenario different than a review in the NHL?

Edwards couldn’t catch a cold. He doesn’t need Carter’s help, he needs a shrink.

I gotta say, 5 minutes after this play happened, I came to this site because I knew it would be reported.
Thanks for not letting me down.

Pathetic….. freakin’ pathetic. He watched that thing right into his grill. How the hell does a receiver watch the ball so well and make a bonehead move like that?

Braylon Edwards would make a good DB, most of them can’t catch either that’s why they’re playing Defense.

  24. BuckFigBen says: Dec 4, 2009 12:06 AM

Browns got 2 players and 2 draft picks for that guy. Bwahahahahah.
The first thing we’ve done right in 10 years.

Wow this guy really sucks. He couldn’t made it look any funnier!

  29. Satanic Hell Creature says: Dec 4, 2009 4:27 AM

Troy Williamson was so bad, he should be banned from ever even watching football again. Also, his name should be stricken from all football talk from here on out.
At least Edwards still catches most of the balls thrown his way. But, that was the worst non catch I’ve seen since Williamson.

  30. tdawg69 says: Dec 4, 2009 6:38 AM

Not even Chris carter can help this guy. His ego will not allow anyone to come in and show him how to catch. He is another, ina long line, of bustouts from Michigan. Only thing that could save his career is if he goes somewhere like Indy,, where Manning can put the ball exactly at numbers every throw. BE is a pansy, primadonna douchebag, and honestly, the two players the Browns got from the Jets are already worth it, even if they dont make the team next year, and the draft picks are busts. Well worth removing this clubhouse cancer.
I hope to God you Jets fans aren’t snowed by this tool. If the Jets sign him to a fat extension (God knows why they would, he hasn’t really done crap!) he will be even worse next year. once he’s paid, that coupled with the media attention in NYC, he will be lucky to cacth two balls a game. Mark that down!
