Yea, the Cowboys were saying similar things in the ’07 season before they beat the Giants for the second time in the regular season. We all know how that turned out.

Where did the article go about “Cowboys Shenanigans”? I guess it got deleted when you knew that you were wrong in hinting the Cowboys were breaking some rules. You can pay whatever you want to a practice squad player Florio…just to clarify. Article below:
Rudy Carpenter hints at possible Cowboys shenanigans
Posted by Mike Florio on December 3, 2009 10:51 AM ET
So with practice-squad quarterback Rudy Carpenter recently jumping from Dallas to the 53-man roster in Tampa, the Cowboys apparently made no attempt to keep Carpenter by adding him to the active roster.
After all, the Cowboys already have three quarterbacks on the active roster — Tony Romo, Jon Kitna, and Stephen McGee.
But in an interview with JoeBucsFan.com, Carpenter suggests that either the ‘Boys were willing to carry a fourth quarterback on the active roster — or they were going to give him a Christmas card in an extra-thick envelope.
“When I got the phone call from the Bucs that they wanted to take me off the Dallas [practice] squad,” Carpenter said, “Dallas even offered to pay me active [roster] money to stay with them. I really liked Dallas, but I really thought it would be good for me to get the NFL experience as a third quarterback. When you’re on a practice squad and you get phone calls from other teams to make you active, you can decline it. But I wanted the experience in Tampa.”
It’s hard to tell whether Carpenter was saying that he would have been getting active roster money in Dallas while serving as a member of the practice squad. Still, few teams devote four roster spots to the quarterback position.
We’re not saying the Cowboys tried to skirt the rules. That said, any effort to funnel extra money to a practice-squad player in order to get him to stay put would be a clear and blatant violation, and it makes us wonder whether NFL teams have tried the “Christmas card in an extra-thick envelope” approach (not to be confused with the “banana in the tailpipe” strategy) in order to keep buried on the practice squad a player for whom there simply isn’t room on the active roster.

I’m just shocked that Alex Barron is the most penalized player in the league! Seriously, ask any Rams fan, we can tell you Barron is good for 2-3 false starts and at least one hold per game. Another 1st round bust for us.
