DeSean Jackson out for Sunday

Earlier this week, Eagles receiver DeSean Jackson expressed doubt regarding his ability to play on Sunday against the Falcons.

And it’s now official:  He won’t be.

Jackson officially is out, due to the concussion he sustained against the Redskins.

Also out are receiver Kevin Curtis (knee), linebacker Akeem Jordan (knee), and running back Brian Westbrook (concussion).

No Eagles are doubtful or questionable for Sunday.

Probable for the game are defensive end Victor Abiamiri (knee), receiver Jason Avant (hamstring), cornerback Sheldon Brown (hamstring), defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley (ankle), tight end Brent Celek (thumb), guard Nick Cole (knee), safety Quintin Demps (ankle), guard Todd Herremans (shoulder), receiver Jeremy Maclin (foot), defensive tackle Mike Patterson (wrist, toe), and cornerback Asante Samuel (neck).

we still have plenty of weapons and atlanta has no secondary to speak of. i think we pound the rock and get maclin deep on a few and avant will be over 100 yards too easily, that guy is a stud. the d should feast on redman.

Nice grammar, lawyer. How about, “expressed doubt as to whether or not he will be playing.”

Great….I already picked eagles to win….there goes that theory…without his big playmaking abilities…it is now an opportunity for all the people saying Maclin is in the same catagory as Percy Harvin…..Here you go Maclin…the stage is all yours…………..

So the Eagles have 4 active WRs, 2 of whom have injuries.
    Great, just great.

They don’t need him this week anyway considering how banged up the falcons are.

no purple, maclin is not in the same category as harvin. Maclin’s teammates get suspended for using banned substances

Vox, you know damn well that he’s better than those scrub receivers on Dallas. Roy Williams wouldn’t even make it as a special teamer here.

Jackson is a 170 lb wuss. His days of going across the middle are over. He’ll be out of the league in 3 years.

I dunno. Seems like sort of a one trick pony. Not really a chain-mover type. You can’t always expect to get those big plays. The guy has scored exactly one TD in the second half of all the games he’s played in combined this season. None of the Cowboys top 3 have less than two. Including Roy Williams, who has three. In fact Jackson’s production drops waaaay off in the second half across the board. He only averages 10.9 yards per catch. Well less than half of what he averages in the first half of games. Not very clutch.

vox, while second half statistics are important, to judge Jackson based on them is biased and not a fair indicator of his value. In 5 out of their 7 victories phil has been well ahead and not needed to throw the ball downfield, and in all of their losses except against dal he has had over 90 yds rec. But of course these are all facts that you would be well aware of if he had a star on his helmet

    @ nochance,
You’re wasting your time…it’s like trying to explain something to a child.
Vox has a one dimensional mind when it comes to football and statistics. He believes his beloved Cowboys can do no wrong(always boasting about the positive stats, never the negative ones)….then he does the exact opposite for other teams(esp. NFC East).
What really makes me laugh is when he tries to smack-talk Pittsburgh fans, then knows he can’t throw the old “5 Superbowls” in their face, like he does with other teams.
For example if someone were to ask Vox, straight up, which has been the more productive team in the last 10yrs? Philly or Dallas? (obviously Philly), he will rant & rave that Philly has never won a Superbowl(3-time Champs, sorry Football has been going on a lot longer than these watered down Superbowl years), or that Tony Rom-O-Choke is closing in on the highly touted Pass Attempts record.
Then for his final act…when Dallas sucks it up in Decemeber….he disappears! Until next spring when all the other weeds start to pop up!
