New York Jets safety Kerry Rhodes exuberantly threw the ball into the stands after getting his first interception of the season on Sunday.
As a result, he’s been fined $5,000 by the NFL, which doesn’t take kindly to such celebrations.
We noted this week that Rams running back Steven Jackson had been fined $5,000 for throwing the ball in the stands after scoring a touchdown on Sunday. A reader then e-mailed us to point out that Rhodes had done the same thing.
Now Rhodes has been fined the same amount. The rest of the league is warned: Throwing a football into the stands will cost you $5,000.
But what about if you throw a ball into the stands?
GOOD THING YOU POINTED IT OUT BEFORE ASS.
can they hand the football off to a fan….? This is a stupid rule….
I love watching the NFL……….but the powers that be just suck.
Someone mentioned this before, but it is worth repeating……
Throwing a football into the stands = $5000
Throwing yourself into the stands aka Lambeau leap?????
Yeah really, what a douche. way to point it out.
Way to approve of loving on your fans No-Fun-League….
Let them throw the damned ball into the stands. Jeez….the leagues butt cheeks keep getting tighter and tighter.
The league is just too “image conscience”. It’s getting disgusting.
