PFTV's Week 13 game of the week

We’ll admit that we tend to err on the side of making the Sunday night game (on NBC) the PFTV game of the week.  But not always.

This week doesn’t fall into the “not always” category.

Here it is.

Peaking too soon? I’m biased, but there have been plenty of mistakes.

Once again, Florio is focus is tunnel vision on any and all things Minnesota Vikings. How about some commentary on a truly compelling game, such as Colts/Titans???

  3. Havren says: Dec 4, 2009 12:09 PM

@SgtSigma: Florio is a packer fan.

Vikings game of the week again. On nationally a ton, getting flexed in over the Pats, setting rating records, players of the week/month left and right.
Not trying to brag but I can’t remember a season since 98 where my home team got anything reasonably close to this type of love and hate nationally.

    @Havren
Florio a Packer fan? All along I thought it was the Steelers. Oh well.

    Florio’s a Florio fan.
    Three types of orgasms:
Positive orgasm: OH YES OH YES
Religious orgasm: OH GOD OH GOD
Fake orgasm: OH FLORIO OH FLORIO
    I’m not sayin’, I’m just sayin’…

  8. Supersuckers says: Dec 4, 2009 12:53 PM

Sando in my humbled know nothing opinion you can count on the same type of ending as 98 as well for this team.

  9. leatherneck says: Dec 4, 2009 1:05 PM

Hey, the Vikings are good this year.
Now let’s go knock off the conference champs.

Monday Night’s game is the game of the week.
It has the most playoff implications affecting more teams playoff chances.

  11. jx4cmario1 says: Dec 4, 2009 1:37 PM

I’m eager to see a lot of the games this week, Indy-Tenn should be good, Dal-NYG, even N.O-Wash could be interesting…

  12. Supersuckers says: Dec 4, 2009 1:49 PM

    I agree Bob.

  13. sand0 says: Dec 4, 2009 2:02 PM

Ravens and Packers are wild card hopefuls. Colts and Titans really this game won’t affect their playoff seeding. Regardless of outcome Colts will be #1 seed and Titans likely will be out either way. Vikings Cards game doesn’t have much seeding implications but they are two of the 3 top NFC contenders in my opinion and facing eachother this close to post season is big. Not to mention Vikings are under such a microscope anyways.
Florio’s logic is sound on this one imo but I could understand if someone felt one of those other two games was more intriguing.

“In a storybook MVP-caliber season, Favre is also on pace to become the first QB in NFL history to bypass a 7-to-1 TD-to-pick ratio. After not throwing a single pick in November, he is currently at 8-to-1 with 24 scores to three interceptions.”

Yea, that’s right, a better team makes a better Favre.

Seeing how I can’t actually watch the video, what IS the game of the week?

“Monday Night’s game is the game of the week.”
Yeah everyone wants to watch two mediocre teams battle it out. That game should be absolutely boring. I think we’ll stick to the team 2nd in the conference vs. last years winner of the conference.

  19. mixman34 says: Dec 4, 2009 2:39 PM

Wow… never thought I’d say this but here it goes………. right on Bob.

  20. mixman34 says: Dec 4, 2009 2:40 PM

Seriously though…. why do I have to keep my cursor in the damn player in order to keep the video from resetting. BS vid player there Florio.

    Super,
You would compare this season to 98, because that’s all you can truly hope for. and OF COURSE you and Bobby boy would think Monday is the game of the week, because if GB loses, and believe me they will, your playoff chances slip further and further.

Not trying to brag but we get threatened to have a blackout each and every week where us Minnesota people can’t even watch. Not bragging but they threaten to move us to LA each week. This reminds me of 98 all over again where we came up empty handed. I dont know if it’s the cold weather here but I HAVE GOOSE PIMPLES.

  23. Supersuckers says: Dec 4, 2009 4:22 PM

    PurpleRaid,
Anybody on here that says anything with any certainty like you just did is affectionally termed a site clown. You have no idea what is going to happen Monday night. Neither do I.

They should move this big game to Tuesday at 10:30am flex the deserving team!
That way all the non-working drunk packer fans should be awoken by their wife/sister and actually see a game.
I picked the Pack in my picks to win, but I see
    Ravens 21
    Pack 14
    SKOOOOLLL!!!!!!!!!!!

  26. phinsNleafs says: Dec 4, 2009 7:52 PM

Would have loved to see the Dolphins/Patriots in primetime because they are always fired up to play eachother and usually have great games regardless of their records. For example a 2004 Monday nighter fins 29 pats 28. The Dolphins won 4 games to the Patriots 14+2 playoff+ Superbowl that year…Plus this game has a lot more on the line then when these teams usually meet at this time of the season. However Favre and the Vikings have earned the right to play on Sunday night, and the Dolphins and Patriots have not…

  27. employer says: Dec 4, 2009 7:56 PM

    Agree w/SgtSigma
The Vikings are not peaking too soon. They have yet to hit their stride. Too many untimely mistakes. Alot of penalties etc.
If anyone is peaking too soon it would be the Saints. They are deadly. But they’ve shown the rest of the league everything they have. In other words, they’ve emptied the playbook. Now it’s up to the DC’s to expose that soft underbelly.
And that would be the play calling. I will not take anything away from what the Saints have accomplished so far this season, but there is a weakness that can be exposed.

Waiting for Favre to be drug tested. Oh wait, he is the leagues cash cow so no way they’d bother.
He already experimented with pain pills, not much of a stretch to talk to the Williams and get some stuff to help performance. cough * starcaps* cough
Can’t wait 2-3 years down the road Favre will be retired and will write a tell all book saying how he had to juice to get revenge on the Packers!
    Heard it here first.

    Idiot.

I have bad news for those of you who long for the day Favre retires.
Another Favre will be on the way.
His nephew, Dylan, is ripping up the Mississippi High School record books.
He’s a senior now, so he’ll be in college next year.
The Favre name will be heard for another twenty years.
