Antoine Winfield among inactives for Vikings-Cardinals

Minnesota Vikings cornerback Antoine Winfield had hoped to play tonight against Kurt Warner and the Arizona Cardinals’ stellar group of wide receivers.

But Winfield, who was listed as questionable this week with a foot injury, won’t be playing against the Cardinals: He’s inactive for tonight’s game.

The Vikings’ other inactives are third quarterback Sage Rosenfels, wide receiver Jaymar Johnson, running back Albert Young, guard Anthony Herrera, outside linebacker Erin Henderson, defensive tackle Fred Evans and defensive end Jayme Mitchell.

Vikings tight end Visanthe Shiancoe is active and will start. He had been listed as questionable and limited in practice this week with a rib injury.

As expected, Warner is active and will start a week after sitting out because of the lingering effects of a concussion.

The Cardinals’ inactives are third quarterback Brian St. Pierre, cornerback Greg Toler, linebacker Reggie Walker, linebacker Will Davis, guard Herman Johnson, tackle Mike Gandy, tight end Stephen Spach and wide receiver Jerheme Urban.

It doesnt matter the vikings are the best team ever. The NFL should just send them to the superbowl already. So they can be 5 time losers

Damn that Winfield. He gets injured on a routine play and he misses all these games. Where is the damn toughness? He was talking about coming back a couple of weeks ago and here he is still watching from the sidelines. Keep his ass out the rest of the year, its getting old already.

Would you rather him come in and re-injure himself? Or would you rather let some of the younger D backs get valuable reps and keep Winfield fresh and get him healthy for the stretch run? I wouldnt question Winfield’s toughness.

If the 10-1 Vikes keep their Pro-Bowl DB out for another week, so what?
Winning or losing against a pussy Arizona squad.
They are a soft pasney squad, so who cares about this limp-wristed queer arizona warner-led team.
