NFL.com’s Steve Wyche reports that Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will start Sunday’s game against the Raiders.
Head coach Mike Tomlin, who stated earlier in the week that he expected Roethlisberger to return from his concussion after missing Week 12, confirmed to Wyche that Big Ben is no longer feeling symptoms from his head injury. Roethlisberger was listed as probable on Friday’s injury report.
The Steelers figure to do their best to keep Big Ben out of harm’s way for fear of him taking another shot to the head. The Raiders rank 31st in run defense, and only the Bills have more carries against. In other words, opponents routinely attack Oakland with run-heavy game plans.
Expect to see running back Rashard Mendenhall carry the football just as often as Roethlisberger throws it on Sunday.
it is good that he is back because we need a good quaterback
Could also have Dixon come in and run a few wildcat plays to raise his market value if they do intend to bait him for offers.
If Steelers go up early he might see more time at QB, that too might reveal if the Steelers might want to offer him after this year.
Watching it closely with Dixon on the market and Tebow coming out (after getting stomped by ‘Bama) Vick’s market value is in a free fall.
Bruce Arians said, “Oh, they are the second worst run defense and second most ran against? Then they will never expect us to pass the ball all game. They’ll never see it coming. My offensive plan is always the best and never needs to be adjusted for the team we play!!!”
copes cabana LOL
copes cabana – love the name btw, miss Myron and his show after the games. You hit it right on the head, Arians will find a way to get up early and then put the brakes on the offense until a special teams touchdown or a fluke play allows the other team to get back into the game. Story. of. the. year.
