Loud boos for Michael Vick in Atlanta

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick has made his return to Atlanta, and he has been loudly booed by Atlanta fans.

Although Vick got a few cheers when he first came onto the field for pregame warmups, the fans in Atlanta have overwhelmingly booed the quarterback who played for the Falcons from 2001 to 2006.

The Eagles made Vick one of their captains for the game, and he was booed as he went out for the coin toss.  He was then greeted by even louder boos when he took the field on the Eagles’ first drive of the game.

On that drive, Vick was on the field for two plays, taking the snap in a shotgun formation both times and running both times, once for three yards and once for four yards.  The Eagles’ first drive ended with a field goal, giving Vick’s current team a 3-0 lead over his previous team.

I think Vick could run the offense all game and they would beat Atlanta. And I like Atlanta.

i loved it. hoping for a career ending sack for him…that is if andy reid ever lets him stay back there to actually throw it.

    Good job, people of Atlanta.

  5. virtualplague says: Dec 6, 2009 1:34 PM

Don’t see why they’d boo him. He was the only reason their franchise was relevant up until they drafted Matt Ryan.
He didn’t backstab his team like Favre did. I feel bad for the guy.

    McNabb said that he would get a standing ovation… it’s not the first time McNabb has showed himself to be out of touch with reality {CLUELESS}

Michael Vick can go to hell. What he did to Atlanta will never be forgiven. It really brought it all back seeing him in the Georgie Dome. Tony Dungy needs to remove Vick’s balls from his inside cheek.

Way to go Atlanta! Loved watching that, even though I couldn’t hear sound.
So much for him expecting a “standing ovation.”

Didn’t think the ATL had it in them. Good for them

“Vick was on the field for two plays, taking the snap in a shotgun formation both times and running both times, once for three yards and once for four yards.”
There you have it, folks; why Micheal Vick is NOT an NFL qurterback. From the shotgun, what other QB in the league calls his own number and runs it, instead of looking for and finding an open man. And if you ARE going to be a running QB, 3 and 4 yards is not going to get the job done instead of passing the ball.

“I don’t know what kind of reception I’m going to get in Atlanta”
Well, you have your answer, Mikey. This all sems like a bad dream, doesn’t it? Not at all what you envisioned sitting in your jail cell, is it now.

Waiting for Vick to wave to the Atlanta fans like he did the last time he was booed there.

That’s america for you. Second chances are relative at best.

people boo too much these days
GB fans booed Favre – he put them back on the map
So just because Vick was the Falcons QB and returned he is booed. It’s the end of the world.
Be positive – glass half full, if this world is taken over by booing glass half-empty people, then it’s over.

Michael Vick can go to hell?
If we lose second chances and forgiveness it’s over.

Michael Vick the most overhyped media creation in NFL history.

Vick is so arrogant that he probably thought he would get a standing ovation. I doubt that they will pick up the team option and idk who will take a chance on him next year. I lost a lot of respect for Tony Dungy in this whole Vick scenario. I used to think he was a great coach and a great guy, but no good, informed person would want anything to do with Vick. And I don’t want to hear any of that “he made a mistake” crap. A mistake is not made repeatedly for years. Or even worse the “he deserves a second chance” his second chance was Roger letting him back into the league but no one has to pick him up next year.

by the way Mike F. most everyone on espn and kfan (Dan Barreiro) show how yes, try to hold onto the ball, but even the greatest (Sweetness) have fumbled. Let’s keep this in perspective.
I heard your interview on PA’s show – way overboard. Stop trying to prove a point. Make a point but don’t go crazy.

  18. extreme469 says: Dec 6, 2009 2:15 PM

vick = dumb ass….this guy is scum and should not even be in the league…he’s making millions laughing at the Eagles, Dungy, and every other bleeding heart. Boo him out of ATL!

  19. tian says: Dec 6, 2009 2:28 PM

It was 50-50. The title could also say loud cheers for Vick.
There are as more Vick jerseys in the stands than any other jersey. (Sorry, huge call in the end zone… had the cheer. Eagles are headhunting out there.)
But it was indeed 50-50. Just like the loyalty to Vick in Atlanta… 50-50.

“He didn’t backstab his team like Favre did. I feel bad for the guy.”
Well he embarassed the franchise by doing what he did to those dogs and making the Falcons look bad. Not to mention it left a huge hole at QB when he went to jail. They had to go thru like 3-4 QBs before Matt Ryan. Had Vick not done what he did, then none of that wouldn’t of happened.

I think much more of the ticket buying people of of Atlanta.
Nobody wants criminals and felons in their stadium; excep demented viking people support criminal activity.

  22. tian says: Dec 6, 2009 3:02 PM

Vick ran for a TD and the crowd was more Pro-Vick than Anti-Vick.
I really hope this closes the door on this in Atlanta. We are so divided in this city.
Oh, and there’s a lady next to me that was just screaming with delight! LOL!
Oh, and now the fans are just booing the Falcons, period.

  23. DirtyBird06 says: Dec 6, 2009 3:03 PM

Eat a d*ck you haters, Vick scored!!!

  24. Marc F says: Dec 6, 2009 3:04 PM

Now they’re quite. Touchdown Mike Vick. ’bout time!

  25. VoxVeritas says: Dec 6, 2009 3:11 PM

They’re cheering him now, buncha knuckleheads.

  26. chrismc185 says: Dec 6, 2009 7:21 PM

I was at the game and there were clearly more cheers than boo. This is irresponsible reporting here, Vick had th crowd chanting his name all game. I am a Falcons season ticket holder (purchased in 2002). Vick made this city a Football town, lets not forget that folks.

  27. Richm2256 says: Dec 6, 2009 9:52 PM

“Vick made this city a Football town”
Yeah with all those Super Bowl wins, right? Again, what exactly did Micheal Vick accomplish in the NFL? Please tell me.

  28. CH³NO² says: Dec 7, 2009 8:26 PM

LOL @ Vick didn’t back stab his team.
Yeah, he just got his ass thrown in jail for 2 years and left the team in a financial mess.
He didn’t need to stab them in the back……he stabbed them right in the face!
