Ochocinco plans a fine-worthy TD celebration

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco plans to score a touchdown today against the Detroit Lions.

And he plans to celebrate after that score.

And he plans to have his paycheck docked as a result of that celebration.

Ochocinco went on Twitter early this morning to announce his intentions, saying in a tweet he addressed to Adam Schefter of ESPN that he has already scripted something that will get him fined.

“What I’ve planned for today will get me fined when I score but it’s so worth it,” Ochocinco tweeted.

Ochocinco didn’t go into specifics, but he later claimed that he won’t fully break the NFL’s celebration rules, he’ll just bend them a little. I have no idea what that means, but I’m curious enough that I’ll be keeping an eye on Ochocinco today. And that, of course, is the point of all of Ochocinco’s antics.

I wish the league would do a “Bud Adams” on his ass and put a stop to this nonsense. His act wore thin long ago.

bearsrule…..it’s for the fans you lame brain. Don’t be pissed because you wish you had him. I’m not even a Bengals fan but if I had Jay Cutler, I’d hope someone did a “Bud Adams” on his ass for being so bad. Are you related to Roger Goodell? Do you love the No Fun League?

Guess we will see it in the pre-game warm ups. That’s about the only time he will be in the end zone! About to drop this cat from my fantasy roster. Not even good trade bait anymore :(

bearsrule.. is he the reason that NFL is going down the drain?? cause he does funny celebrations that makes the average fan wanna watch him?? or laugh after the fact he does it?? get serious here. he doesnt get arrested, he doesnt hurt anyone.. he is entertaining.. get your fat head out of your A$S and laugh a little.. Sick and tired of everyone hating on him for ‘celebrating’.. its humor.. its fun.. and the NFL could use more of it.. stop being so damn miserable!!!!!!!!!

    Oh great!
    I can’t wait to find out what he’s goi-zzzzzzzzzzzzz…..

  7. ericpburt says: Dec 6, 2009 10:38 AM

I wish the NFL would pull the stick out of their own ass and let some fun back in. If he scores he should be able to do what he wants as long as its not offensive or dirty. Makes me want to watch the Bengals. Imagine if you were a Bengals fan and you have had to watch their awful team for so many years. At least you have something entertaining in the game to take your mind off the suck.

maybe to you, hes the only 1 who has fun anymore

  11. aceman309 says: Dec 6, 2009 10:43 AM

Playing against the Lions, he may need to work out 3 or 4 new touchdown dance routines. His dance choreographer staff will be working overtime this week.

To all of you hating on Ocho…
    Why don’t you like fun?

  13. Hauschild says: Dec 6, 2009 10:50 AM

It’s sad. The man’s a mere shadow of his former self. Thank the good Lord I traded his underachieving azz weeks ago.
    Ocho-Stinko’s a waste of space.

Ocho is part of what makes the NFL great to watch.

All of you non-Bengal fans mind your own damn business. Ocho is just fine with us.

Actually, yes. That’s why I watch it, dumbass!

  19. Cereal Blogger says: Dec 6, 2009 11:16 AM

Ocho is a joke. His act is old & tired. Oh & yes I like to have fun.

  20. delius1967 says: Dec 6, 2009 11:18 AM

To those saying he is fun — no, he isn’t. “Fun” is spontaneous displays of genuine emotion. This jackass is not just planning his preening self-promotion, he’s SAYING that he’s planning it, so it isn’t even possible for people to pretend that it was spontaneous.
Not only that, but he’s planning something that he knows he is going to be fined for. That’s not “fun”, that’s just being a self-aggrandizing jerk.

  21. skip7 says: Dec 6, 2009 11:19 AM

Kubik…there’s fun and there’s childish stupidity by a grown man who is paid extremely well by the organization who makes the rules and who doesn’t think too keenly of his “fun.” Get paid millions of dollars, you bet I would follow the rules. What’s fun is watching these spoiled, overpaid babies celebrate even the most routine of plays…talk about insecure…

  22. myasylum says: Dec 6, 2009 11:30 AM

I don’t know? There are some players that are just plain assholes, I know. For some reason though I find his stunts humorous! lol! Don’t ask me what the difference is, but maybe he is just trying to be funny, where the other guy are just dickheads, I don’t know?

  23. joey365247 says: Dec 6, 2009 11:37 AM

PervertHarvin… you seem to post the same lame sh!t on all the Bengals story’s… A tad-bit nervous looking ahead of the schedule are we?

Why do it against the Lions? Do it against a team that matters and/or cares.

  25. Champs says: Dec 6, 2009 11:49 AM

Child, please. If you run down the field, making a tough catch, and score TD, that already screams “look at me!” Anything extra is a bonus for the already-excited fans.
If you want to shut him up, shut him down. The entire Champs household loves his antics and hopes not to see them against his Vikings.

Waiting for another Capt Morgan pose.

  27. spliffbunker says: Dec 6, 2009 12:01 PM

I actually like this guy now seeing how he relates to the fans…but the problem i have with this is:
he may not care about being fined but he can really hurt his team if he costs them 15 yards

  28. steveinohio says: Dec 6, 2009 12:05 PM

Anybody watch Hard Knocks when Chad was asking Marvin “how do I invest my money?” HBO must have edited out the part where coach told him to put it all in league fines. I can’t figure out the economics of the thing. His financial planner must have pulled all his hair out by now.

  29. BonnieD says: Dec 6, 2009 12:09 PM

Champs has the best point. If you want to shut him up, then shut him down. If you can’t shut him down, then shut your mouths and watch him celebrate his TD. (OR turn the channel. I don’t care.)
Chad was a problem when he was trying to leave the Bengals. Now that he is a team player and just wants to celebrate a TD for the fans at home or wear an orange chin strap, I have no problem with that.

  30. texasPHINSfan says: Dec 6, 2009 12:12 PM

It’s amusing to me. I just can’t believe how much money he’s willing to give up for a celebration like that. Each of his fines are similar in value to my entire yearly salary.

  31. JuicyMelon says: Dec 6, 2009 12:13 PM

It wouldn’t be that bad if the celebrations were actually funny! His celebrations have sucked over the recent years…So he should stop.

Nervous? lol I’ll bet the bank that Bungles get smeared in Minnesota. shit, you will have your hands full with the Lions. Remember I said this douche!

Seriously? Thats your definition of fun? I have fun by planning to go to a concert of a band I like. Is it not fun to tailgate if you plan it ahead of time? By the way is your last name webster? I’m gonna guess no, so I will say your definition is completely wrong.

Not a Bengals fan whatsoever, but its entertaining to watch Ochocinco.
