Ochocinco scores, breaks out sombrero and poncho

Bengals receiver Chad Ochocinco promised a fine-worthy touchdown celebration if/when he scored a touchdown Sunday against the Lions.

He scored, but the post-touchdown routine was, well, quite lame.

Ochocinco went to the sidelines, and he donned a sombrero and a poncho. The FOX announcers didn’ seem to even notice.

Even though he was in the bench area, the use of props is strictly prohibited. So Chad could be fined.

Then again, Johnson wasn’t fined for putting on a fake Hall of Fame jacket several years ago -- the closest he’ll ever come, frankly, to actually wearing one.

At some point, the Bengals need to be fined, too. They clearly are aiding and abetting many of his violations, and the rules contemplate that teams can be fined for helping a player break the rules.

More importantly, the Bengals now lead the Lions, 14-7, after falling into an early seven-point hole.
