Texans running back Steve Slaton recently regained his starting job, but a neck injury that’s caused numbness in his arms will keep him off the field at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium on Sunday. Chris Brown will start in his place, and probably share work with Ryan Moats.
Return specialist Jacoby Jones is also out after being late for a team meeting on Friday. Andre’ Davis will take his spot.
The Texans’ remaining inactives are cornerback Mark Parson, guard Titan Reyes, cornerback Glover Quin, safety Brian Russell, and defensive tackle Frank Okam. Dan Orlovsky is the third quarterback.
For the host Jags, running back Maurice Jones-Drew and Mike Sims-Walker are playing. Jacksonville is down top cornerback Rashean Mathis, safety Sean Considine, wide receiver Tiquan Underwood, guard Kynan Forney, cornerback Brian Witherspoon, guard Paul McQuistan, defensive end Julius Williams, and defensive tackle Greg Peterson.
