Tomlin sounds ready to make changes

This is not a normal week for the Steelers.

Mired in a losing streak unfamiliar to one of the “teams of the decade,” Mike Tomlin did his weekly press conference a day early because of the short week before Thursday night’s game against the Browns.

What looked like an easy victory in Cleveland can no longer be counted on after the Chiefs and Raiders beat Pittsburgh as double digit underdogs.  If the Steelers can make Bruce Gradkowski look like Rich Gannon, then Brady Quinn has a shot.

Unforeseen times call for drastic measures, and Tomlin sounds ready to unleash hell on his starting lineup.  Tomlin plans to take an “aggressive look at potential changes” because of an “undesirable pattern of behavior” in the fourth quarter of games.

The team’s struggling secondary may take the biggest hit.

Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette writes that rookie cornerbacks Joe Burnett and Keenan Lewis could start, with former top corner Ike Taylor possibly headed to the bench.

Tomlin also mentioned that Hines Ward is struggling with a hamstring injury

Considering Ward’s recent comments about Ben Roethlisberger — not to mention Ward’s history — it would be stunning to see him sit out Thursday.

Then again, this Steelers season has been full of surprising turns.

UPDATE: Tomlin on Ward: “Very questionable . . . we’ll see where it goes, but it’s not favorable for him.”  Starting cornerback William Gay (concussion) and Troy Polamalu (knee) are not expected to play

Don’t you dare sit out of this game Hines! That would make you a total hypocrite. I don’t care how hurt you are! Be a man. Not a pansy. I blame his big mouth during the week as a Steelers distraction that led to trouble against Oakland.
I’m glad to see Tomlin at least planning on cleaning house and sitting out some of the dummies on this team.

  2. Frank Burns says: Dec 7, 2009 1:16 PM

You mean the same Joe Burnett who dropped the pick that should’ve ended it for the Raiders?
I wouldn’t put this on Ike, even if he did whiff on that pop fly Gradkowski served up before the last TD.
How about your chickensh*t d-coordinator? When was the last time an opposing QB faced the wrath of Blitzburg? Instead they get to face 3-man rushes and eat Subways back there.

  3. danlinker says: Dec 7, 2009 1:17 PM

Here I thought it would be the cards that had the sb hangover right? At least, that’s what every media outlet likes to say, especially this one.

    What a d-bag.

  5. frox says: Dec 7, 2009 1:24 PM

Did Hines hurt his hammy pulling that guy’s face mask on his TD catch? Dirty SOB.

  6. Citizen Strange says: Dec 7, 2009 1:25 PM

It could happen that the Steelers will win their final four games and then be the team nobody wants to play in the playoffs.
That won’t happen though if Roethlisberger continues to score 10 points in the first three quarters of games.
Why not try to score 14 points in the first quarter and shock the hell out of everybody?
For a supposedly elite QB he does not put up the points and instead relies on the Steeler defense scoring TDs to win close games.

  7. PolegoJim says: Dec 7, 2009 1:30 PM

    Discipline Discipline Disipline.
The team is out of control – from poor play to loose lips and a generous flow of disrespect all around.
No wonder they’re floundering like caught fish on a boat deck.

  8. SteelerNation says: Dec 7, 2009 1:31 PM

Any good cornerbacks coming out in this coming draft?

  9. bobcat92 says: Dec 7, 2009 1:31 PM

Instead of blaming the loss on Hines Wards mouth I would blame it on the defense, which is clearly a one man show.

  10. Bill Cowher's Chin says: Dec 7, 2009 1:31 PM

LMFAO, I pray that Hines “I’ve hid injuries from the trainers and coaching staff” Ward misses a game due to injury, after calling out Big Ben. No injury is more devastating long term than a brain injury (not that Big Ben is all there to begin with).

  11. Mr.MondayNight says: Dec 7, 2009 1:32 PM

changes should of been made to the loss against CINCY. WILLIAM GAY HAS BEEN TERRIBLE AND IM HAPPY HE’S OUT, health wise, get better but he is a terrible corner, ive been watching the games from Canada getting frustrated over how terrible he has been and how bad the secondary is, NOW they make changes, a little too late Tomlin. We as a steeler nation like Mike, but hes gotta go at the end of this season, same with probably one of the worst offensive coordinator’s of this decade – Bruce Arians.
Administrative changes need to be done just as much as personnel changes, this garbage can’t go unnoticed. They tired to patt Ben’s stats this season with a pass first oriented offense and it doesn’t work.

  12. scrapdawg12 says: Dec 7, 2009 1:38 PM

Oakland has beaten the Eagles, Steelers and Bengals. Three potential Playoff teams and the Steelers are defending champs. Oakland just doesn’t put it together every week or they could easily win a few more games. Their not as bad as we all think. If they only had a QB. Should of kept Garcia.

  13. metalman1320 says: Dec 7, 2009 1:42 PM

Please oh please let Whines Hard sit out this week!!!!! That would just be the icing on the cake…..

  14. mborz says: Dec 7, 2009 1:45 PM

@Frank Burns: I agree, I don’t think benching Ike is necessarily the answer. Not given the alternatives, anyway.
And I also agree that the defensive schemes and calls have been questionable and soft. I hope Tomlin has his finger on this also, but maybe is less likely to say anything in the media about it? It could get really ugly if Tomlin publicly calls out LeBeau.
No matter what, this team has been lackadaisical for most of the games this season, and Tomlin should have done something before things got this low.

  15. CABroncoFan says: Dec 7, 2009 1:46 PM

I gotta belive not having Troy is the biggest issue and is causing all this trouble. I was @ the Denver game and he single handedly shut us down. If Tomlin’s gonna get this team through to the playoffs, he’s got to look at a few of these things.
Mike Wallace is more than capable…Limas Sweed should get his shot to drop a ball in a huge situation. Ike Taylor has taken some lumps, but the Steelers are always a team to let a guy go too soon, rather than late.
Tomlin’s got a well deserved blank check anyway.

  16. Fed up says: Dec 7, 2009 1:49 PM

I do blame the Steelers defense for the loss. But, Hines’s reckless comments only bring stress to a team in a time they need to pull together.
Tweed is a twit. Get rid of him.

  17. Lee Harvey says: Dec 7, 2009 2:09 PM

Anybody notice how Mundy, through a long series of miscues, is probably most responsible for that loss yesterday? I did. Thanks buddy. That’s two in a row for the RAIDERS over the tinners.

  18. Unnamed Source says: Dec 7, 2009 2:14 PM

Since Polamalu turned into bob sanders this team hasn’t been the same.

  19. goetta-head says: Dec 7, 2009 2:17 PM

Tomlin is average at best. He inherited a team that had championships built in and he just rode the wave as far as it goes. The blame rests on his shoulders. A ‘great team’ should never have to be so reliant on one player to achieve victory- that is called a weak team. Sorry Steeler fans…its true. Polamalu out is no excuse. Injuries happen, move on and find ways to win. They abandoned their run game for passing, and their D is a shadow of its former self. These are decisions made by coaches and front office. Way to let it slip away… I betcha Cleveland puts another ‘L’ up on them!
P.S- All Cincinnati Football has owned Hines Field this year!

    @ Mr.MondayNight
You are smoking something if you think the Rooneys are gonna cut Tomlin loose after one lackluster season. Consider the facts that he won a SB in his second year and that he is only the third Head Coach since 1969. We got an absolute steal when we hired him from the Viqueens.
However, I COMPLETELY agree with you about Bruce Arians. This guy is complete crap as an OC and MUST be replaced at the end of the season. I can’t help but think it is not a coincidence that when he lets Ben call the plays in the 2 minute offense we miraculously start moving the ball.

Talking all that smack when they were 6-2, and I tried to tell you Steeler fans you’re team is overrated, can’t beat QB that don’t turn the ball over, and won’t beat them if they don’t force DEF TDs.
    What has happened since???
    No DEF TDs!!!
    4 Losses
And that ring you got last year, with playoff wins over 8-8 horrible Charger team, a rookie QB, and a 9-7 Cardinal team!!! lol
Worst superbowl team since XL, another Steeler team!!

Silly Cincy fans, sweeping the Ravens and Steelers means nothing if you don’t win the ultimate prize. Don’t worry I’ll be here to remind you about that when they lose in the playoffs. Good luck against the Colts and/or Saints (if you even get that far) LOL! So glad the Steelers got their 6th last year. BTW congrats on your 2nd winning season in 19 years…impressive.
Not a Pitt fan, but have fun watching Tebow and the Gators T-bag the Bearcats in their Bowl game. Go talk your trash a CFT moron.
Cincy fans have such a complex from being beaten repeatedly like a red-headed stepchild over the years that their Super Bowl is simply beating a division foe.
Silly Bengals fans are silly. Prepare to crawl back into anonymity.

  25. dklein82 says: Dec 7, 2009 2:44 PM

i’m a fan of another team in the afc north, but can honestly admit that the steelers have been the class of this divison for a decade.. no question. but i’ve always believed that their corners benefit from that front seven… that secondary (without troy) might be the worst in football. ike taylor? he couldn’t start for tampa.

  26. Deb says: Dec 7, 2009 2:47 PM

Ca Broncs fan is right about Troy being a major part of the problem and goetta-head the Bengals fan is right that it’s inexcusable. And a BIG nod to Frank Burns for calling out LeBeau. When Troy was out earlier in the season, one of our guys commented that LeBeau was holding them back from a full-out rush. Apparently he’s afraid that if he fully commits the linebackers to the Blitzburgh schemes, the QB will be able to pick apart the secondary. If that’s the case, we should have been trying to plug that hole NOT wimping out on pass rush. Troy’s been out half the season. We can’t wimp out for half the season or we’ll end up … well … .500!
Tomlin has been making adjustments. He put Harrison on special teams & brought back Anthony Madison, a special teams dynamo who never should have been cut. But sitting starters will get some attention! Burnett was inconsistent in preseason–he’d blow some plays and look spectacular on others. Yeah, he dropped the potential game-ending INT. But that wasn’t the only reason we lost. If he’s hungry, he may prove himself. Noll won, what? one game his first season? Tomlin inherited a lot and made the most of it. Now we’ll see how he handles adversity.
Only one big point of disagreement w/Broncs fan is Limas Sweed. Talented but a head case. Convinced himself he can’t catch. May be correctable with time and help. But doubt he’ll correct it in what’s become a hostile environment. Better for him–and us–if he’s traded after the season. Hope he becomes a great receiver. Would rather let go too early than too late. Wallace will do just fine.

  27. steelerfan9598 says: Dec 7, 2009 2:53 PM

@goetta-head: Tomlin is average at best. He inherited a team that had championships built in…
Um, ONE Super Bowl win by Bill Cowher qualifies as ‘Championships built in’?
If you were a Steeler fan you would know that Cowher would have found a way to lose the AFC Championship game last year as he had done AT HOME four other times.

  29. Rafterman says: Dec 7, 2009 3:00 PM

Ben needs to call the plays PERIOD. Ben has football smarts and does a lot better then Arians. Any coaching changes start there.
Tomlin isn’t going anywhere, neither is LeBeau unless he’s retiring. Speaking of retiring most of the problem is the age of the D. Followed VERY closely by piss poor ST’s. Reid has ZERO punch on kick offs, I don’t think he’s ever had a touch back.
Unfortunately, most of what needs fixed has to wait for the off season.

  30. The Jimmy says: Dec 7, 2009 3:09 PM

The signing of a receiver would indicate that they’re very worried about Ward’s availibility. He almost HAS to play after his comments about Ben. That said he better be able to play if he dresses or he hurts them further. The irony.

rydendonkeys, for being in your words the “worst super bowl team”, the Steelers beat the Broncos this year, in Denver. I guess that says enough about your Broncos. You are dismissed.
Steelers defense has been leaking in the 4th quarter this year. While I do agree that it would be nice if the offense opened up a bigger lead earlier on, fact is they had the lead in 5 games in the 4th quarter and the defense did not hold it. I would prefer to see more pressure blitzes at the end instead of prevent defense. And I sure am tired of Taylor and Gay not making plays most of the time. Even with Troy out, you would think the defensive backs could hold it together at the end for one last drive. But all during that last Raiders drive, I felt they would score, which is a sick feeling. That floater that Ike did not break up, Burnett dropping the easy interception, it was not fun to watch.
Tomlin should bench a few at the start to make a statement to the players, maybe it will wake some of them up. At least it should get their attention.

  33. Gautam says: Dec 7, 2009 3:40 PM

well that’s how the cookie crumbles … Tomlin’s arrival made the Steelers stop conceding the big plays, Troy’s absence has brought that back

  34. bleedblackandgold says: Dec 7, 2009 3:51 PM

Are some of you seriously calling out LeBeau for his defensive scheme? All I keep hearing is how awful the secondary is playing so can you truly blame him for not blitzing the linebackers and asking them to drop back into coverage?
There’s issues with individuals on the defense…..not the scheme. William Gay is one of the worst corners I’ve seen play and Tyrone Carter does nothing but run around and talk smack.

  35. goetta-head says: Dec 7, 2009 3:52 PM

I dont think we won the SB morons. You just say that so that it makes you feel better knowing you have. That is your complex..not mine. We owned Hines field all year yes or no? Yes. I would say that even if we weren’t leading the division. Funny thing is is that the Bengals have a shot. And you can hate all you want but the fact is your shot sucks. Have fun watching us in Jan and maybe even Feb!
    Steeler fan,
Cower built that team from the ground and yes he may have gotten ‘only’ one ring out of it and 4 afc champ games (like that sucks or something, and you act like Tomlin built this…his draft picks suck, and all he had to do was steward)…either way he handed Tomlin the keys to a Mercedes and he totally F’ed it up. You would know that if you were an objective fan. I guess one thing is for certain…change…and it is refreshing.

Funny how some people want to bag LeBeau. Perhaps they don’t remember how awful they were between the time in left in the late 90′s and when he came back.
Neither Tomlin nor Cowher have a ring without him.

  39. FloriosForBreakfast says: Dec 7, 2009 4:11 PM

The Steelers have can’t close a game in the 4th quarter. Two years ago when the Steelers went into training camp Tomlin laid into the team, grilled the vets, and ran a serious camp; they went on to win a superbowl.
This year Mike Tomlin chose to make a pre-season impression that he wasn’t concerned about the small facets of the game (8 Special Teams/Defensive returns for TDs) nor was he concerned about brining his football team into the season in peak football shape.
“Camp Cupcake”… remeber hearing statements like this one from Mike Freeman of the AP, “The defending champions are running a laid-back camp, arguably the most relaxed in football, which is contrary to the tough-guy image of the hardened Steelers. Tomlin isn’t running Camp Steel Town; he’s running Camp Cupcake.” and “A number of Steelers players not participating in on-field drills sat on their helmets, kicking back when they weren’t on the field. ”
Now they are 6-6 with a veteran defense who didn’t get the jolt they received in previous years and they are dogging it in the 4th quarter. Yes, Troy is hurt, they are still PROS, step up and finish. Then again, if Mike Tomlin’s idea of getting a team into football shape is “Camp Cupcake” I understand why they are blowing games and headed further down the rabbit hole. It’s a young coach’s mistake on the heels of success, and hopefully he takes this experience and puts the Steelers back atop the AFC North.

  40. kravenm3 says: Dec 7, 2009 4:37 PM

People talk smack about Pittsburgh because they win a lot of games (usually) and their team has probably been on the losing end a few too many times. This is the same reason I can’t stand the Patriots…they have beaten us in too many big games (lifelong Steelers fan here). All you Steelers haters should talk crap, its your turn. The fact of the matter is that Pittsburgh is suckin’ this year. We can dwell on all the “what ifs” in the world but our record speaks for itself. We Steelers fans can’t expect to not catch some flak after our team has played like a second rate intramural squad for the last four weeks.

yeah you guys beat us, and immediatey after I berated all the Steeler fans for being way to cocky and overconfident, and layed out the reason why you guys won the SB, and how the Steelers were not as good as thier record, and how fortunate they were to get all those DEF TDs, and as soon as they stopped getting those, the Ls would start to pile up.
And they did, and they are.

It’s okay Steeler fans. No need to get down on yourselves.
Over the last decade or so, the team that lost the Superbowl the year before has ALWAYS failed to make the playoffs. You remember how it was back in ’06 when you all stank up the ‘Burgh worse than it already is? Same thing here. No need to bemoan losses to Oakland and KC. It was to be expected.
Just be grateful you have a special team of officials to make sure you still get the rings and trophies even when you lose. Most other teams don’t have that, you know. Then deal with your fate, regroup and come back next year. Who knows, maybe one of these times you can REALLY win it all.

  45. steeltownpride says: Dec 7, 2009 5:24 PM

SIGH ………Look here are some simple facts from this season .
First the defense is a former shell of itself from last season . No Larry Foote this season . No Bryant McFadden , Aaron smith , Troy P . So now the good depth you had is now gone . And the 3rd and 4th stringers are now the top back ups . The d line needs a infusion of young hungry talent . Time to find a replacement for Potsy Farrior . Need to find a new shutdown corner . Something we havent had since Rod Woodson . Casey Hampton is done for the Steelers and need to find his replacement and need to find a new back up NT to replace big red .
Now on offense . Time to spend some picks and draft some good high end offensive lineman . Draft a left tackle in the first 2 rounds . Move Starks back to right tackle . Colon is gone . Find a new right guard . Essex is a better back up than starter . Find a replacement for Parker he is gone . Think Javest Best from Cal . Would be a great compliment to Mendenhall . Get a real fullback , back into this offense . Need to draft another wide reciever . Best stay the others go .
Maybe this is the season the Steelers need to open the old wallet and spend some good quality money on the positions they cant all get from the draft . Jeff Reeds replacement needs to be drafted or signed via FA .
Now for the coaches . Only a moron would want Tomlin gone . He is the right man for the job . He is just taking some learning bumps but he will be fine . Lebeau is a GOD in Pittsburgh and he isnt going anywhere . Unless Tomlin decides this is the time to switch to a 4-3 defense . We won 4 superbowls playing a 4-3 and 2 with the 3-4 . Which one do you think is better ? Bruce Arians needs to go . We won a SB despite his play calling . We have 2 special teams coaches and all we need is 1 good one . Try to sign Danny Smith from the Redskins if they have a turnover in Washington .
If i can think of anything else i will post it but this is it for now . Yes Cincy has owned Pittsburgh football this season . Why get mad at it ? It is what it is . OWN it . But its about time they finally did something . I mean afterall the Bungles cant be the doormat to the Steelers forever . Congrats lets see you do it consistantly from now on and not just a one year wonder .
And to the Bearcat fans . You think it was bad playing Virginia Tech last season in the Orange bowl , wait till Florida gets ahold of you . Feel sorry for you but it wont even be a close game . Goodluck though .

  46. Whit says: Dec 7, 2009 5:34 PM

I remember before last season many people were predicting a bad year for the Steelers on the idea that our team’s D was getting up there in age. I think this year it’s finally come to pass. Sure, everyone knows about our secondary but I think that our aging front seven is causing some of the 4th quarter problems as well. Don’t get me wrong, most of these guys are great players and deserve to be starting we just desperately need some fresh faces in there… on the D-Line especially.
    D-Line
    Aaron Smith-33
    Travis Kirshke-34
    Casey Hampton-32
    Brett Keisel-31
    Chris Hoke-33
Also, James Farrior is 34 and is really starting to slip up in coverage as of late. James Harrison is 31.

  47. kravenm3 says: Dec 7, 2009 5:37 PM

    @tonymo
Don’t be upset because our fans refuse to accept mediocrity and anything less than a winning season is considered unacceptable. If you have become used to watching your team embarass themselves every year, save 2007, that is your problem. I haven’t seen a single Steelers fan on here say anything about abandoning the team and I certainly know I do not intend to.

  48. Whit says: Dec 7, 2009 5:41 PM

Damn, by the way…you would think that the Ravens and/or the Bengals (its interchangeable anymore) had won the Super Bowl by the way their fans are acting. Hilarious……keep it up, I know we will see you guys back to whining about the officating in some loss or back to crying about what could have been.
Personally, I’d much rather see the Browns be a stable, competitive team than the Bungals or the Scavengers.

  49. Deb says: Dec 7, 2009 5:44 PM

    @bleedblackandgold and buckeye044 …
LOVE LeBeau. He’s a defensive GENIUS. Could watch his schemes all day. But our defense is lacking and Polamalu’s absence plays a significant role. You can’t build a defense around one player, no matter how special. Rod Woodson was extraordinary. He was injured and LeBeau–as defensive backs coach–had to compensate. He did and we went to Super Bowl XXX.
Brilliant as LeBeau is, he’s not infallible. He’s the defensive coordinator and we have major problems on defense. If you get the accolades when things go right, then you take some of the responsibility when they go wrong. I’m sure a coach of his caliber would be first to admit that.

LUCKIEST TEAM IN THE LEAGUE, NOW THE CRY BABIES ARE COMING OUT OF THE WOODWORK.
YESTERDAY WAS PERFECT! THANK YOU RAIDERS.

@tleg81 … Deshea Townsend doesn’t belong in that group. He’s been a consistent high performer his entire time in Pittsburgh. He’s older now and on the back end of his career, but he still steps up when called in. As for the rest, I agree.
@tonymo … Most of us have been Steelers fans for years–since at least the 80s when they sucked and could only get to a Super Bowl by buying tickets. Congrats for sticking with the Brownies. But many of us have been and will be just as loyal to the Steelers. Your tantrum doesn’t sense. Maybe you need to lie down.
@Soup to Nuts … This conspiracy fetish of yours is worrying me–especially after that Project Runway speculation. I’m not making excuses for our loss because, unlike … a-hem … some others, I don’t do that. But doesn’t it bother you a tad that the Raiders were helped a wee bit by the Striped Ones on that final drive? I mean, you seem so sure they’re in our pockets … all evidence to the contrary.

Are the steeler faithful worried about my 1-11 Browns? What will happen when Cower is totally out of the picture?

  53. Whit says: Dec 7, 2009 6:39 PM

    @Deb
Point taken about Lebeau but we don’t have guys like Carnell Lake and Darren Perry (two of the most underrated Steelers of all time) to pick up the slack for the best player in our secondary (then it was Woodson, now it was Polamalu).
That said, Cleveland is far worse off due to injuries than the Steelers, and even though no game is gimmie anymore I think we can win without Polamalu on Thursday. After that: no way. But the ten days between Thursday and the home game aganist Green Bay is a good break. Plus, I wanna see what Keenan Lewis and Burnett are capable of.
This team can still get to 10 wins. A lot of fans would hate to see their team face the Steelers in January…look at johngrun’s fan posting for example. If the Steelers don’t make the playoffs…oh well…much needed higher draft picks that will make for a very dangerous team next year. When it comes to the NFL, I’ll be firmly on the Saints bandwagon…haha…and of course there’s a Pens Stanley cup run to look foward to.

Go back again and read what I said about Project Runway. I said I can’t, and won’t, cry foul on something I didn’t watch. Therefore, I never accused anyone on that or any other fashion show of any conspiracy. I simply have better things to do with my time.
I don’t make excuses for losses. When my team loses, they lose. Then I call out our pitiful coaching and front office staff. You haven’t played us yet anyway, what do you care?
The Raiders weren’t helped at all. You sound like the typical classless Steeler fan grasping at straws to deflect attention from your own corruption. Don’t go there please, sweetheart. You’re better than that, even if the rest of your fanbase doesn’t seem to be.
Your “evidence to the contrary” is nominal, VERY recent, and completely circumstantial. When YOU lose a Super Bowl after dominating in every facet of the game except penalties, then I’ll listen. Until then, the schoolyard cries of “but he started it!”, and “they did it too!” you guys have been repeating aren’t going to convince me of much.

  55. Deb says: Dec 7, 2009 8:00 PM

@Whit … I’ll definitely give you Lake and Perry. We don’t have that kind of mass talent in the secondary. I’m anxious to see what Burnett’s got. He blocked a kick (or punt, don’t recall) during the preseason that was a thing of beauty and required him to really put himself out there. I’m still hanging on that we’ll make the playoffs. But either way, I’m still making a championship run this year. My whole family are lifelong Bama fans!! My brother’s already got his tickets to Pasadena! Roll Tide!!

    @Soup to Nuts …
Omigoodness … “sweetheart” … should I be flattered?
I know what you said about Project Runway. That it would enter your mind says you tend toward conspiracy theories.
Wasn’t talking about you with the “a-hem” on making excuses for losses. Was talking about your cause celebre: the Seahawks. Went over the controversial calls of XL for you. Some bad calls? Yes. Deliberate? No. Game altering? Doubtful. But, of course, on that I say “tomato” and you say “to-mah-to.”
Didn’t see Raiders game, but saw a clip of what appeared to be a bad personal-foul call on the final drive. Announcers said bad call, but you say no. Did you see the game?If it was a bad call, I’m certain it a) is not the reason we lost, and b) was not deliberate. That’s because I don’t believe refs deliberately blow calls, nor do I believe one or two bad calls make or break a game for anyone–unless it’s on the final play.
My evidence to the contrary isn’t nominal, recent, nor circumstantial. Most of your “evidence” is nothing but supposition. Mine is eye-witnessing bad calls over a lifetime that I suspect has extended longer than yours. For instance, I remember well the non-call that gave Dallas a touchdown in SBXXX. The numerous bad calls this year that have been discussed at length by the sports media are easier to recall because they’re recent. Since I’m not a conspiracy theorist, I’ve had no reason to memorize calls that support my theories while ignoring all others.
If you went over all games of the last five years, you’d find bad calls were evenly spread among all teams. You’d find they cost the Steelers as much as they helped us, and you’d find that’s par for the course among NFL teams.
But you wouldn’t do that if you could because you’re as wedded to your conspiracy as the Area 51 and Grassy Knoll people are to theirs. It’s your PFT purpose, your reason for crusading against the Steelers. Nothing will ever change your mind or convince you of anything. Your mind is a steel trap.

Hell ya! Go Oakland and go Bruce thats how u play QB. The one ball that should have been picked was because receiver went behind db instead of in front. Ward thanks for the fantasy points, but that was some bull shit grabbing Chris Johnsons face mask ( no call, no fine). What can I say the whole league hates the Raiders, w/ these kind of crappy calls year in and year out I think they just expect it.

fact is stiller jackasses you have already jumped the ship, watch replays of the game on sunday and you will see a TON of piss yellow seats, now in the past when coming to cleveland the stadium was pretty much a black and yellow hell hole i can admit you travel well when winning but thursday night i promise you the black and yellow will be kept at a dull roar.
