Hey ampats:
Last time I checked that concussed headcase QB has won 2 Super Bowls since the last time Brady has. I know the Steelers are a mess this year, but so are the pats. The difference is I can admit it, Pats fans can’t be critical of their team even when they’re struggling. I live in the New England area and it’s amazing how the same fans who will trash the Sox after a 95 win season won’t be critical of the Pats when they haven’t won anything in 5 years.
You’re absolutely right, the Steelers probably aren’t going to the Playoffs, and it makes me angry how this season has gone, but bottom line is they’ve been to the top of the mountain 2 times more recently than the Pats. The Pats were once the model franchise in the NFL, they aren’t anymore. Come talk to me when they put together a decent draft, let alone win another Super Bowl.

The bottom line is cohesiveness. There is none.
If you look at film from the “dynasty years” (when they won 3 out of 4 Superbowls) there was something that put the “T” in “team” – they were ALWAYS talking to one another on the sidelines. Whenever a squad came off the field (offense, defense or special teams) they gathered around as a unit and talked about what was going on. They got on the same page and were COHESIVE.
Watch film from any of the games this year. They come off the field and sit on the bench, don’t even look at one another, never mind talk to one another.
I don’t know if it is the new guys not getting the program, the vets just giving up because of the way the office lets really good players go for next to nothing or what the story is, but there are many issues here that need to be resolved.
Tom needs to look in the mirror and say “pull your head out” because he is just a shell of his former self. The knee is bothering him more that he or the team wants to admit and that should be obvious to even the most casual observer. That is why his throws have been off.
My only hope as a fan is that the “injured” players are really not that bad and that Bill is allowing them to fully recover and be close to, if not 100% when the play 0ffs start. If that is the case, then I think they have a chance (slight as it may be) to pull a rabbit out of the hat. But first they have to get together as a TEAM, being cohesive and on the same page for every play.
But right now, I have to say – stick a fork in them, they are done….

Richman, it’s so funny how Cheatriot fans can’t read between the lines. As has been mentioned, Peyton calls the protections according to his reads. It’s VERY obvious that Brady ONLY used the word ‘we’ for political reasons. Did the rest of the team throw (2) 4th Q INTS? Where does he take responsibility for THAT? If Brady DIDN’T say ‘we’, the media would be asking other players hiow they flet about being blamed for Brady’s poor performance in that game. Brady is NOT the same Tom Terrific of lore. Even Cassell – who obviously is NOT a great QB – was able to lead basically the same team to 11-5 last season. Seymour wasn’t very good last season. What you are seeing now is that BB is NOT the genius the was claimed to be. We are seeing the old Cleveland BB now who has a harder time winning with a more typical NFL roster.

Brady and BB are both sore losers, can’t stand either. They’re the first ones to complain when somebody else “disrepects” them.
Pats haven’t won since 2004 because they’ve let their D slip. They won 3 titles with Brady, a solid line and not much else on offense (Corey Dillon being the exception), but they had a stacked D. Now they have all these playmakers on offense and Brady is putting up these sexy numbers and they haven’t won anything. Isn’t that what Pats fans used to point at Peyton Manning and say?
How different would the Pats look right now if they had Asante Samuel, Mike Vrabel and Richard Seymour? In order to be a “genius” you need to have great players, they just don’t on D and now their O-line is a disaster.

I don’t have an issue with what Brady said. I don’t have an issue with what Manning said.
When it comes down to it, Manning included him self as part of the problem, since he helps call the protections.
Brady is making comments that if he were including himself, just doesn’t make sense. Is he not trying, does he not care?
Your blind man love of Brady’s spunk doesn’t allow you to see it for what it is.
Again I don’t have an issue with what he said, but if the ignorant media is going to bash Manning, then they by all means better bash Brady, because his comments are worse if you compare the two.

Lightning in a bottle only lasts so long. That was true of the 70s Steelers, the 90s Cowboys, and it’s true of the 00s Pats. Players get older, suffer injuries and lose a step. Some retire or take big-buck offers to leave. Assistant coaches get picked off. New people come in. The chemisty changes. Young players think just being a Patriot will make them great without realizing the level of physical and mental discipline required. And head coaches may burn out at the thought of starting over with people who don’t have the work ethic of their former players.
I don’t like the Pats, but I respect what they’ve accomplished. But time catches up to every great team. They’ll work it out and continue to be competitive. But they won’t be the superhuman Patriots of a couple of seasons ago, which would be extremely frustrating for a champion of Brady’s caliber.

Moss needs to be more aggresive going after the ball. He could be absolutely the best WR if he wanted it more.
The D line needs help w/ pass rush, other QB’s have way too much time, and Henne looked like an all pro Sunday. Keep jugleing in the RB’s to keep them fresh. Get the 3rd WR more chances.

Brady needs to stop throwing to the other team in the redzone for starters. That was because he rushed to to get the ball before the playclock expired. And THAT was probably due to the sh!tty coaching they’ve got on the sidelines…the coaching defections have come back to haunt the Pats. There’s no good playcalling offensively and our defensive coordinator is useless. These guys on the sidelines can’t get their heads out their asses quick enough. (that’s why they were so awesome in Indy, calling a timeout right after the five minute TV timeout.) In addition to all that, their play-calling is usually wrong. Finally, we don’t have the same type of players we once did…BB the GM is failing BB the coach.
But Brady was right to call everyone out collectively, but until the foundation gets set, the play on the field is going to be pathetic as we’ve seen it become.
