With his four-game suspension over, cornerback Joselio Hanson has returned to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Hanson was suspended for violating the NFL’s policy regarding anabolic steroids and related substances. At the time of the suspension, lawyer David Cornwell called Hanson “a casualty of the looming labor war in the NFL” and said that Hanson was suspended because he took “a pill that turned out to be a diuretic.”
Whatever the details of the suspension, Hanson is back after a month away, and Eagles coach Andy Reid, who met with Hanson, says he’s hoping Hanson is ready to get back into the mix immediately.
“We haven’t been able to do anything with him,” Reid said. “I just want to see where he’s at. He’s normally a hard worker, but he’s been gone a month. I want to see what kind of shape he’s in. I would hope that he’d be able to get back in there and go, but I’ll have to see.”
The Eagles released rookie receiver Jordan Norwood to make room for Hanson on the roster.
so he’s already finished with his suspension and yet the williams’ keep playing. yup this is real fair, they all took diuretics but only some get punished.
This is a one-liner at best.
The Eagles are beginning to get some depth back with Hanson … at the right time of year, too. If only Kevin Curtis could get back on the field, at even 90%, with a few games under his belt before post-season.
While Baseball I think is still too lax with this, I think the NFL might be a little too strict…
NB2RS,
It’s good to have Hanson back, but Curtis is a non-factor once DeSean gets back. Unless someone gets hurt, I doubt Curtis even gets on the field.
i think even when and if curtis is healthy avan takes his spot, already have speed on the outside and avant is a posession guy who can go deep and is not afraid of the middle. the defence still needs work and the red zone filed goal crap has to stop. that wont do in playoff time. weaver needs to be extended too. he is a horse.
