So why doesn’t Laron Landy get cut? He got burned for TD’s on double moves TWICE and to me that’s what lost the damn game.

The call was correct according to current NFL Rules. If you didn’t like the call, maybe you should take it up with the NFL Rules Commission.

Oranjeelojones: While I agree that if the FG was good, the Skins win ( I said that in an earlier post) don’t forget that if the kick was good, the Skins would be kicking off to the Saints at 1:52; it would be the Saints ball , no JC , no running game , just the Saints offense trying to come back from 33-23 down with the clock running out.

Oh shut it Saints fan’s that kick goes in and yes you LOSE. The Skins get it back with 1:52 left and run 3 times, that’s right run as in no passes as in no interception of JC. Assuming you stop them (that’s a big assumption since your D hadn’t all game) you get the ball back with 30 seconds left. If you don’t and the Skins continue down the field like they were you’re actually probably down 13 (if not 17) not ten points and then you’d need 2 TD’s to win or get back into it. I don’t care what kind of karma you’re dealing with, your team wasn’t getting 14 points in 30 seconds.
Savor it, I would but don’t make yourself look like clueless idiots by actually talking smack about how that went down. The Redskins gifted it no doubt but after that amazingly bogus fumble call on Sellars you’d be wise to just shut your pie holes and be happy you got the gift you did.
Oh and one other thing, 12-0 is nice and all but your team has yet to win jack squat so it might help to actually have them bring something home before you start doling out advice on what it takes to be a top notch organization. Again they’ve had a nice run and look prepped for it to continue but until they do you’re just another never was that hasn’t won a damn thing yet.

he isnt the scapegoat but we have a lot less to lose with him then we would with laron landry being cut. suisham was horrible last year as well…check his stats and should have been cut then.

And I really think making the kicker the scapegoat is taking the easy road out to please the fans. The Saints got pressure from the left, it was not a great snap or hold, and they may have put a finger on the ball.
The Defense, on the other hand, gave up an 80 yards drive in 30 something seconds. LaRon Landry looked like he couldn’t cover himself with a towel. He hits like a dump truck full of rocks, but he plays like his skull is full of rocks.

your guy almost took it to the house like Moore almost didnt fumble. You got 2 VERY lucky plays to get those TDs so dont push it with some almost took it to the house.
lets say you did score a TD, you would have to go on a wish and a prayer for the onsides kick. Lets ask Philly how well that works against us.
and if we had the ball back we run it. You had 0 timeouts left and with 3 running plays even if we dont get the first we put you so deep in your own territory that we can hold you in (damn I hate saying it) prevent defense.
but its all wishes and coulda beens now.

Dude misses more tackles than… something that misses a LOT of tackles. I’ll tell you that.
Had he not gotten burned for two TD’s it would have never come down to any kicker.

The kicker deserves blame just as much as anyone else, but placing all the righteous indignation on the kicker is a real chickenshit move at best.
Let’s not mention the defense that could not hold ground for less than two minutes to seal the deal. Let’s just make a lot of noise and fire the kicker.

The Redskins are riding with the same bad MOJO that used to float around with the Saints for a couple of decades or so. I have seen these games from the other side too many times. The Redskins were going to lose no matter what. Bank it!!
I think it was too bad that they cut the kicker. To say that he cost them the game any more than say, LaRon Landry is just leaving in a dream world. But, I think the Redskins may be doing just that because when it looked to the radio broadcast team that the Redskins were moving into position to “ice” the game, they chose……..LaRon Landry as the Defensive MVP for the game! How clueless is that!!!

@Boudin: I’m an Eagles fan who has no love for the Redskins, and after watching the Saints crush my Eagles, I have nothing but respect for them . That said, I think it’s safe to say that had the Redskins led the Saints 33-23 with 1:52 left(the score if the FG had been good) , they WOULD have won the game. I know that I was watching the game with a friend on Sunday and can tell you that as soon as he missed a 23 yarder that we both commented it was the end of Suisham’s days in DC.
