1. New Orleans Saints (12-0) (Last week: 1) (at Falcons). Either those six priests and three archbishops are getting God to shine on the Saints, or owner Tom Benson has sold his soul to the guy who manages a slightly warmer piece of real estate.
2. Indianapolis Colts (12-0) (Last week: 3) (vs. Broncos). If the Colts take their foot off the gas, they'll have a hard time finding the pedal again.
3. San Diego Chargers (9-3) (Last week: 4) (at Cowboys). When L.T. saluted Jim Brown on Sunday after passing the Cleveland legend in the record books, Brown surely was tempted to return the gesture. With a single finger.
4. Cincinnati Bengals (9-3) (Last week: 5) (at Vikings). The Bengals have never won in Minnesota. Based on the way they're playing, they've got a real chance to change that this weekend.
5. Arizona Cardinals (8-4) (Last week: 9) (at 49ers). Just when the NFC West was getting interesting again, the Cardinals went and messed it up by beating the Vikings.
6. Minnesota Vikings (10-2) (Last week: 2) (vs. Bengals). On the bright side, Adrian Peterson didn't fumble.
7. Green Bay Packers (8-4) (Last week: 11) (at Bears). We've got a feeling that the Vikings do not want to see this team again in the postseason.
8. Philadelphia Eagles (8-4) (Last week: 10) (at Giants). Andy Reid would never admit that he gave Mike Vick chances to score touchdowns in order to generate a trade market, but for some reason Reid has been whistling the theme from The Sting.
9. Denver Broncos (8-4) (Last week: 14) (at Colts). The Derrick Thomas jersey retirement might have inspired the fans, but it did nothing for the Chiefs; the Broncos scored their biggest road win in the 50-year history of this twice-per-year rivalry.
10. New York Giants (7-5) (Last week: 15) (vs. Eagles). Before getting too excited about Sunday's win, the Giants need to remember that beating the Cowboys in December is only slightly more difficult that beating the Browns in any month.
11. New England Patriots (7-5) (Last week: 6) (vs. Panthers). Tom Brady's finger apparently is fine, given the manner in which he's pointing it at his teammates.
12. Dallas Cowboys (8-4) (Last week: 7) (vs. Chargers). The coach who can't win in December goes up against the coach who can't win in September.
13. Miami Dolphins (6-6) (Last week: 20) (at Jaguars). Every time it looks like they might be bad, the Dolphins play like they're anything but.
14. Baltimore Ravens (6-6) (Last week: 8) (vs. Lions). How can a team led by a former defensive backs coach have so many pass interference penalties?
15. Pittsburgh Steelers (6-6) (Last week: 12) (at Browns). After "unleash hell" from Gladiator blew up in his face, Steelers coach Mike Tomlin will motivate his teams in the future by quoting only Charlie Chaplin films.
16. Jacksonville Jaguars (7-5) (Last week: 22) (vs. Dolphins). Tim Tebow will be crying at the end of a lot more games if the Jaguars draft him.
17. Tennessee Titans (5-7) (Last week: 13) (vs. Rams). The win streak was fun while it lasted; for now, the Titans need to shake off the loss to Indy and focus on the last four games. With help, 9-7 might still get them into the playoffs.
18. New York Jets (6-6) (Last week: 21) (at Buccaneers). For his next attempt at teaching quarterback Mark Sanchez to avoid injury, coach Rex Ryan is bringing in the Pope to show Sanchez how to take a knee.
19. Atlanta Falcons (6-6) (Last week: 16) (vs. Saints). As it turns out, the fans weren't chanting, "We want Mike!" They were saying, "You killed Spike!"
20. Oakland Raiders (4-8) (Last week: 25) (vs. Redskins). A team more accustomed to the phrase "unleash smell" was motivated by Mike Tomlin's tough talk.
21. Seattle Seahawks (5-7) (Last week: 24) (at Texans). The Seahawks reportedly have hired a search firm. Its task is to find a better football team.
22. San Francisco 49ers (5-7) (Last week: 18) (vs. Cardinals). We wonder whether anyone will remind Mike Singletary of all those playoff guarantees he made.
23. Carolina Panthers (5-7) (Last week: 23) (at Patriots). The Panthers made Josh Freeman look like Jake Delhomme.
24. Houston Texans (5-7) (Last week: 17) (vs. Seattle). Running back Chris Brown explained his ugly interception on an option play by saying, "I learned everything I know about playing quarterback from Rex Grossman."
25. Chicago Bears (5-7) (Last week: 28) (vs. Packers). So why is Charlie
Weis interested in serving as the Bears' offensive coordinator? Deep.
Dish. Pizza
26. Buffalo Bills (4-8) (Last week: 19) (at Chiefs). Some folks in Toronto think that the Argonauts might have given the Jets a better game.
27. Washington Redskins (3-9) (Last week: 27). (at Raiders). Sometimes, it's better to just get blown out.
28. Kansas City Chiefs (3-9) (Last week: 26) (vs. Bills). Sometimes, it isn't.
29. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-11) (Last week: 29) (vs. Jets). It's good that the Bucs dumped all those veterans in the offseason. This team would have really sucked if they'd kept them.
30. St. Louis Rams (1-11) (Last week: 30) (at Titans). "We only lost by single digits" is the best post-game celebration the Rams can hope for.
31. Detroit Lions (2-10) (Last week: 31) (at Ravens). It's amazing what three 1-11 teams can to do help a 2-10 record go unnoticed.
32. Cleveland Browns (1-11) (Last week: 32) (vs. Steelers). Crazy as it sounds, they might give the Steelers fits on Thursday night. OK, it sounds really crazy.
Week 13 power rankings
Posted by Mike Florio on December 8, 2009 8:57 AM ET
I put no stock in power rankings.Thank you for putting the Bengals above us though. Can't wait to stick your face in the dog shit when we kill those Cincy clowns!
"for some reason Reid has been whistling the theme from The Sting"
That wasn't whistling - just his stomach rumbling because Morningwheg forgot the donuts again.
Judging by Florio's reaction, you'd think the Vikes' loss counted as five losses in one. Not even remotely scared of facing the Packers in the playoffs.
I was about to criticize you on how high the Dolphins were until ya step back and look at the rest of the teams below them.
What a top heavy season this is.
65% of these NFL teams suck.
wow fins at the 13 spot. good number. gotta respect them. no flags, little talent, now they just play methodical ball and win
Florio, you are an over-reactionary "analyst" when it comes to these"rankings". You have no place even making rankings because you don't understand how to take a whole season into account and just knee-jerk based on what happened the week before.
These are worthless people, move along...
Jags below the Dolphins?
Steelers can't win without defensive touchdowns vs good Quarterbacks.
These are funny rankings...I would rather read Peter King's fine 15 than this. The Vikes lost to a team that they might see again in the playoffs...The Bengals lost to a team that is usually competing for the 1st pick in the draft.
Pack moving up. Vikes moving down. Sounds about right. Pack will still win the NFC North.
Haha, Viqueers fans are gonna be pisssssed!!!! That's what you get when your QB is 63yrs old though. I'd look at it a little differently though, you're only going to get lower and lower and lower.......hell of a run Viqueers too bad it's OVAAAAH!!!!!
Bolts vs Saints in February... So many story lines.
"If the Colts take their foot off the gas, they'll have a hard time finding the pedal again."
What the hell is that supposed to mean?!?
I really hate the Vikings, but dropping them to just above my Packers makes no sense. Yeah they got smashed by Arizona and yeah, they lucked out two other victories at home against SF and Baltimore early in the season. But they've handled the rest of the schedule pretty much with ease, and while I'm sure they'll choke down the stretch and in the playoffs, they don't deserve to be lower than third or fourth right now.
Hopefully Cincy changes all of that by going into the Dome and sacking Favre a dozen times, but that huge drop is just Florio freaking out since he's a Viking fan.
Wait until AFTER they choke to downgrade them Mike. Don't do it in advance thinking that somehow doing so will help the Queens avoid the inevitable.
Pitt has lost 4 straight dropping them to 6-6. Two of which include the Chiefs and the Raiders and they're listed in the top half of the league in your power rankings?
Gee. I wonder who Florio's favorite team is.
Wow, Jaguars sweep the Texans for the year and you still disrespect them by stating that if the Jaguars draft Tebow then he will be crying alot more...then you put the Jaguars below 3 6-6 teams despite their 7-5 record, which, by the way, is the same record as your precious Patriots even though you have them at number 11. Your hate for the Jaguars, Jaguar fans, and the city of Jacksonville is getting less and less transparent.
Haha, Viqueers fans are gonna be pisssssed!!!!
No we're not. As Percy said, Florio's power rankings mean squat. Who cares. Arizona deserves to be ahead of the Vikes. Only thing that counts is what happens come January.
Anyone who watches tape of Vick will disregard the two TD's. Has made better plays running, but at least he completed a pass - even though it looked like Celek had time to grab lunch while he waited for it.
Long pass to Brown was all Brown, vastly underthrown and ugly.
Even Philly.com says he played spotty.
Vick Bounty
Tim Tebow will be crying at the end of a lot more games if the Jaguars draft him.
-----------------
I'll watch them just to see this.
Your one liners are improving as the season goes on Mr. Florio.
Or maybe I am just finally reading them now that my team is in the 20's.
"rydendonkeys says: December 8, 2009 9:23 AM
Jags below the Dolphins?"
I think you meant to say "Jags blow the Dolphins"...
Will you still be a "fan" after they leave Jacksonville for a city where the "fans" actually go to the games?
I believe someone, a few months ago, brought up the fact that the Eagles got him to trade him..... even as you issued rumor after rumor that he was there to usurp DNabb's place on the team.
Oh, I remember who it was now............ way to get on the bandwagon. I guess when your rumors don't pan out, you just jump in the nearest available vehicle and plant yourself in the passenger seat as if you've been on board the whole time......
Do you even own a pair of sneakers?!? Specifically, one's that you can play hoops in?!? Maybe you could get Sports Authority to run some ads in exchange for them?!? Better yet, just cancel the game between italian bloggers for NBC....
I sure hope the beatdown my Vikes took vs the Cards will serve to light a fire under our guys, 'cause they looked flat. All the credit to Arizona, too...they played their best game of the season, I'll bet.
About 2 weeks ago I said I would LOVE to see the Packers in the playoffs...now I am only lukewarm to that idea. ;)
We need to come out strong against a very good Bengals squad and get a win. If not, it will be a very tough January...mentally. I do not see the Packers being able to catch the Vikings record-wise at this point, but to loose as badly as they did and to not rebound...well, we could kiss our SB dreams goodbye.
C'mon boys!!!! FIGHT!
You know your team is feared when people don't comment on their own teams rankings, but instead on how pleased they are for the rankings of your team. Get off our jocks...Cincy is in trouble.
Arizona being up there is just fine, after that nice win against the Vikings. really i don't have a problem with alot of these rankings. In the end though, people gotta chill. This is one guy's opinion on things. If you hate it so much then stop reading his stuff?

2 asshat of the day finalists on 1 thread!!!
I am a Vikings fan, but the people upset about the Vikings losing ground to the Bengals are a little silly. The Vikings did not just lose to the Cardinals. They got beat-down by the Cardinals. That was simply the worst game the Vikings have played all season, on both sides of the ball. I completely agree that they should have slid down a few rankings.
I believe it is a temporary thing, though. I hope it is. I hope it is just them getting their annual crappy game out of the way before hitting the playoffs where it really matters. Even with Green Bay playing like I thought they were going to from the start of the season, I am comfortable with the Vikings' position. We have to win 2 of the next 4 to clinch the division, and we have the Bears and the Panthers still on the schedule. Both can put together a solid game, but I like the match up of our line against the one-dimensional Panthers (though I have Williams in two fantasy leagues, so that will hurt).
Also, some teams just have another teams number even if they are not so good. I would much rather that team be a team that I will not see in the playoffs. While it does make me feel somewhat better that we have only lost to the two teams from the Superbowl last year, it does not make me feel better that we could potentially have to face BOTH of those teams again. Even if we secure the bye, our post-season schedule could be Cardinals, Saints, Steelers. That would be pretty daunting. I would feel much better looking at that with wins against the Cardinals and Steelers and losses to the Lions and Rams. At least I would have confidence that we could win the rematch.
I agree with the rankings as far as the Bengals and Vikings go. But, I will be happy next week if we swap right back.
I don't know who to move above the Bengals, but I don't think they are #4. They will be underdogs to the Vikings this week, which probably means they will win.
As a big Mike Florio fan I have to admit he seems to be making a mountain out of a ant hill over one Minnesota loss.
Please, Mike. I beg you to reconsider.
You know your team is feared when people don't comment on their own teams rankings, but instead on how pleased they are for the rankings of your team. Get off our jocks...Cincy is in trouble.
Based on what? The fact that Farve can't play the position well when he's facing pressure? (Cincy has a pretty good pressure package, good luck with that)
Or perhaps it's cause you lost at home against a team you really should have beat. I actually would have liked to have seen the Vikings win that game, but "Cincy is in trouble" is an asinine tag line to end. See ya Monday morning dude.

"If the Colts take their foot off the gas, they'll have a hard time finding the pedal again."
What the hell is that supposed to mean?!?
--------
It means if you shut it down after you have clinched everything you tend to lose your edge. You could play three weeks of pre season level intensity and then open up your first playoff game against a team that has had their backs to the wall or a month. recipe for disaster. You play to win the game. Clicnhed, not clicnched, eliminatd from contention. You play to win the game.
Here's the rotten part to me. Sunday night, the real Brett Favre stood up and the Vikings future has been placed in doubt. A.P. has been slowed tremendously and Favre had been picking up the slack, but his George Blanda record breaking ways showed up. Plus, Zygi over-reacted and gave Childress an extension and started begging Favre to come back next year. Both of these will turn out to be horrible mistakes. As I've predicted since the day he signed, the wheels are going to come off this thing and there will be Vikings fan stunned or disappointed, and I won't understand it. The Bengals will likely win in HUGE fashion this weekend, their defense is very good. The Vikings need to start looking to the future, find another QB and ask Childress to vacate his office....soon!
PervertHarvin.. there you go with your Bengal bashing again.. you have been talking about this game for weeks... why dont you just tell us the truth about why you are so bitter towards them? your wife left you for a Tiger didnt she???
Some of Ted Thompson's draft picks are starting to look verrrry good. The people who call him the most overrated GM of all time may have been a little off. And Karin Rodgers looks fine to me - 2nd season as a starter and his numbers & record this season are right near the established superstars at QB - & that's with about a D+ offensive line.
Oh Danny boy, two words for next year: Matt Millan.

The Green Bay Packers are clearly the team to beat in the NFC. Everything has changed since the Vikings beat them twice. The Packers, by beating Baltimore, have demonstrated to the world that they are clearly the superior team. The Vikings lost to the Cardinals! Bwwwwahhhaaaahhhaaaa.
Vikings fans can only hope and pray that some other team knocks Green Bay out of the playoffs so they don't have to see the Packers again. God forbid, what would they do? Favre's 7 TDs and Allens 8 sacks against the Packers were lucky. All of the Viking pro bowlers suck. This was proven over the course of 60 minutes in AZ on Sunday night. Ryan Grant > AP. Green Bay fans know more about football than Minnesota fans. Why? Because you have a dome!
ZING -
Bengals are awesome!
Oh yeah, thanks. Cripe, I need more coffee.

the skins beat themselves three weeks in a row against the cowboys, eagles, and saints. (saints, by the way, got really lucky - they're not that good). And, each of those teams is ranked in the top 12.
@ joey365247- Nope. Got major fishing electronics jacked from my boat when I was walleye fishing lake Erie at Port Clinton. Some one should pay,Bengals will do!!
These power rankings are dumb as hell. The Vikings played crappy, no doubt, but dropping them 4 spots is ridiculous. It is one loss, that does not really mean anything. My favorite part though in here are the fudgepacker fans that actually think their revolving door o-line will allow them to get the division title. I guess too much cheese does make you retarded.

And there it is!!
For the 2nd consecutive day, we have our Asshat of the day before lunchtime.
Mike, your full screname frightens me. Which side of the glory hole are you on?
Forget it!! I don't wanna know the answer to that.
There is just so much asshatian about your post that a thorough analization of it is pointless.
Tell the truth you eat your food with a cork on the end of your fork dont you, Ruprecht?
Anyway here is your award, you are now in the running for Asshat of the week and month and year, you join Florio as this weeks daily winners.
By the way, you are in a commanding lead right now.

Everyone congratulate "glory hole"
Boy that name is disconcerting.
Why would the Vikings not want to see the Packers again? After drubbing them twice in the regular season, and Favre playing nearly perfect in both games, how amped up do you think he would be to get a chance at a third slap in the face to Thompson?
The Pack's secondary is so awful, I heard Ahmad Carrol say that Tramon Williams interferes too much. The best QB during Green Bay's win streak has been Tony Romo. I don't like to discredit wins, because a win is a win versus a good or bad team, but a good QB will shred that Harris-less secondary. I think Favre is licking his chops for a 3rd showdown with Ted and the boys.
Now Pervy......Don't get on your high horse just yet. If you don't play any better than you did against the Red birds you'll have to kiss the baby!
Packer fans--calm down. They played a good game last night against a good team. Still too undisciplined (the best O lineman got flagged 3 or 4 times last night because of that dummy snap count). There's still work to be done. Much work.
I for one would not want to face the Vikings again. I'm anxiouis to see how thay play against Cincy. This is far from over and I think the playoffs are going to be as about as interesting as they have been in years.
No wheels have fallen off of anything-------yet!
@Mike Glory Hole
Who swept the season series, and who is winning and will win the division?
Scoreboard, douchebag.
How soon you forget you lost to the Bucs. Beating a faltering Ravens team doesn't count for shit.
Packers are still horseshit, and it will be proven for the third time this season that they are vastly inferior if they get another chance to play the Vikings.
Wow, a second loss by the Vikings drops them 4 spots in these "expert" power rankings and causes Packers, Saints, and Bears fans alike to talk about how "horrible" the Vikings are and that Brett Favre is starting his slump again? Listen...Brett Favre had his worst game of the season. In Week 13. And it still wasn't that bad. Two TD's and two INT's. That's an average game, at worst...But definitely not a sign of slumping. The team was simply out of sync, and will bounce back against the Bengals, who have lost to much worse teams this season than the Vikings have.
"Or perhaps it's cause you lost at home against a team you really should have beat. I actually would have liked to have seen the Vikings win that game, but "Cincy is in trouble" is an asinine tag line to end. See ya Monday morning dude."
When did we lose at home?? Shut your mouth if you don't know what you're talking about, moron.

I am a Packers fan and everything that you wrote is completely retarded.
The Packers are no where near the team to beat in the NFC, have you forgotten about the Saints and have you watched any games this season? Penalties will destroy any glimmer of hope you have in your pee sized brain. The Packers are the most penalized team in the NFL and watching the game last night was depressing seeing the 2nd most penalized game in NFL history.
AP is the second best RB in the league, behind CJ. Ryan Grant is maybe the 30th. Allens 8 sacks lucky, are you retarded? We had a rookie left tackle in Lang who got dominated by a pro bowler, McCarthy was too arrogant to provide help to Lang.
Please do Packer fans a favor and root for the Bears, you will fit in with those arrogant douchebags much better.
Wow I cant wait to see all the puker fans responses after they play the Steelers (with Polomalou) and Arizona who will still be playing for playoff position.
The Vikes only two loses, and you disrespect them and you havent even played them two teams.
You lost to Tampa bay, hahahahahahahaha
We will see who gets the last laugh

lol, the mite as well stop reading when u had the giants at 10. how can the giants be the 10th best team in the nfl? this team has lost to every legitamate team they have played so far, and they play one good game[ which wasnt even so good of a game bc romo tore them apart] and now they r all the sudden a top 10 team?
The dolphins r better then them, even the pats r better then them. the rest is debatable, but come on the giants at 10 is a joke.

Lol! After losing two straight games to the Vikes and the Bucs, the Packers have been on a roll defeating the likes of Dallas, San Fran, Detroit, and a banged up Baltimore Ravens team. Excellent job! Granted a win is a win, but don't get to excited from beating underachieving/injury plagued teams...All of which Minnesota also beat. (with the exception of Dallas).
The season is far from over. So before you run your fingers and type like the biggest moron on this site (and that's tough considering Bob Nelson and JimmySmith are somewhere around).
The Vikings play 4 tough games (Cincy, Chicago, Carolina, and Giants) and even if they lose all 4 games, they will make the playoffs. So it's kinda hard to say that the run is "OVAAAAH!!!!!"
I put no stock in these ratings.
1. How can teams suddenly be very good and just as suddenly the next week become so very bad.
2. The Cowboys current rating is only a function of your bias against them. They are the lowest rated team with 9 wins. Vegas (the smart money) pick Dallas to beat your #3 Chargers. How is that at all possible with you rating Dallas in the middle of the league at #12.
3. Get yourself some unbiased experts.
Last year, what team was it that the Cowboys beat twice during the regular season but lost to in the playoffs. The Giant game was not a game the Cowboys needed to win.
4. The notion that you would put SD as the best team in the league below perfection is perplexing and unsupported by the oddsmakers.
All this bickering back and forth proves why it would be a crying shame to move the Vikes to L.A and thus taking them out of the NFCN...this is fun.
jeff
That guy wins asshat of the year, hands down, contest over. When I first read his post, I thought it was a sarcastic Vikes fan, and I was eagerly awaiting the punch line... but it never came. I then realized that this toolbox was a dead serious Packer Fan. The logic is amazing, beating the Ravens somehow means that the 2 beatdowns at the hands of the Vikes mean nothing, and now that the Vikings have 2 losses, they are finished. And on top of all this, Supersuckers is actually behaving like a competent, level headed normal human being. Shit's getting crazy. North is south, east is potato, I'm all messed up.
It sounds really crazy, but how far will the Steelers go down if the Browns upset them on Thursday?
The Steelers are a wreck, and the Browns should be smelling blood. Mangini too.
If Mangini and the Browns beat the Steelers, there will be people in Cleveland who will no longer look at this season as a total loss. And if the Browns beat the Steelers, I predict that Mangini gets at least one more year in Cleveland.
Love to seethe Packers again! When it comes to playing the Packers,Favre is as cold as ice. You will never beat him Packers. Just face the truth. He loves to thrash you more than you know!!
"The Green Bay Packers are clearly the team to beat in the NFC. Everything has changed since the Vikings beat them twice. The Packers, by beating Baltimore, have demonstrated to the world that they are clearly the superior team. The Vikings lost to the Cardinals! Bwwwwahhhaaaahhhaaaa."
What I like is that it's so funny that the Vikings lost to a team that has the same record as your beloved Packers, when the Pack seems to have been the only team to lost to Tampa Bay. Might want to bite your tongue a little there Mike.
What I do like however is those same individuals who were pissed off that the Vikings were ahead of the colts in the power rankings even though Colts had a better record are now more than pleased that the Vikings dropped to #6 even though they have a better record than 3 teams above them. Not saying they shouldn't have been dropped however, they did not play well on Sunday at all.
Really Florio??..Come on...Any one with half a brain can see the Jags are a team on the rise...playoffs may not happen this year but despite no one in the stands this team is getting better...Tebow would be lucky to be a Jag instead of stuck on some bottom dweller....Please continue the disrespect...when Mighty Tom and the Pats are sitting at home in January I would love to see what u have to say then
Vikings lost a road game to the defending NFC champs and they drop from 2 to 6 while 3 teams with worse records leap frog them?
Mike Glory Hole is crazy... sure the Pack is playing better, but how many good teams has B-more beaten? The packers couldn't even beat my pathetic Bucs... and as well as the Bucs have been playing lately I'd be glad to give it back for the chance to draft DT Suh.
I'm also thinking the Browns can possibly beat the wounded and weary Steelers. They played them tight in the first game for a half on the road, perhaps on the short week and with their offense playing much better and the Steelers on a 4 game skid they can beat them... I hope... I really want Suh.
Steelers Fan for 32 years, currently on Suicide Watch.................................
Dislike Favre but GO VIKINGS. If Cinci was paying attention at all to the 2 Vikes losses they will pressure Favre all day long. If they can't bring pressure, Vikes will tear up large chunks of yardage downfield.
Now if Jacksonville, Ravens, Miami, and Jets lay an egg, the Steelers can move back into the playoffs and the natural order of things will be restored.

==============================
Majik: yep he is the front runner for asshat of the year for sure. i need to start saving these posts somewhere.
Super is a good guy, just a bit on the sarcastic side, which is why he and I get along well.
Spit some pop on my lap at your last few sentences...is that from a movie?
Fluurio...Always a jag hater...Kinda ignorant to put 3 teams with a worst record ahead of us ..isnt it?
Teabag isnt gonna be a Jag either. We would we want a overrated cry baby.
My god.... pick up on the sarcasm, guys. Did you really need a punchline? Really?
What else should I have said to make it sound more sarcastic? Perhaps I should have added that Wisconsin women are hotter than Minnesota women, therefore the Packers are the better team?
Skol Vikes (hope that helps in case you're still confused).
PS- if you really need me to walk thru the irony of the nickname, I'd be happy to do it in a separate post.
There really should be two separate Power Rankings:
1. AFC Power Rankings
...and
2. The Race to See Which Team Will Lose to The Saints in the NFC Championship
The first group comprises the usual suspects (Chargers, Indy & Pats), with the unusual Bengals stepping in for where everyone thought the Steelers would be at this point in the season.
The second group is a more interesting race as far as the regular season is concerned, but we all know how it's ultimately going to end -- heartbreak for everyone but Saints fans, especially for the Snowtards in Minnesota who might well lose their team to another city before the ice melts (Florio, maybe PFT should add a suicide hotline section to the website).
Go Chargers!
Vikes got a lock on the North. Certainly playoff- bound. They would have to lose at least 3 games (possible), but the Pack would have to win out then. Vikes get the tie breaker. Just having AP on the field, does open up options for Favre. But it is that time to the year when the 12 game QB starts to deteriorate. Nothing better could happen than to see the Vikes go 0-4 in the next 4 weeks. But 2 in the stinky-dome, one outside in ok weather and one in frigid Chicago.
GB? at Chicago, at Pittsburgh, Seattle home and then at Arizona. That's a whopper to finish.
BUT, let's go PACK!!!!!!!
I would hardly consider Florio an "expert", maybe a novice. But he is by NO means an expert, hell he thinks the Bengals are in the NFC....
That being said, There is no reason us Viking fans should think we have ALL but wrapped up the division, because we haven't. Yes, we lost to Arizona, badly. But if I had to guess, 9x out of 10 we could beat them. We didn't want it the other night, that's OK, we've lost 2 games, we could easily go 13-3 or 14-2. And to all the Packer fans saying Favre has finally "shown up" (cause of the INTs) need I remind you Rodgers threw 2 picks last night himself..... and he is tied with Brett with TDs. So I would hardly say Brett is falling apart. I think we can beat Cincy this weekend, they're a very good team though, and the Packers are better than when we played them (hard to believe with 2 pro-bowlers out) But if the Vikings secure a first round bye, I don't see the Packers getting past the Wild Card round....
I'm a die hard packer fan so obviously I hate the Vikings (and Brett Favre) but I do have to say that your rankings on the vikings are a bit harsh they should be #3 but I like where the pack is and I do agree that if we get another shot at Minnesota we have a very good chance to take them out considering we are a very different team then we were the last time we played them.
Pervey,
You ate fish that came out of Lake Erie? Yuck!!! Three eyed bass?
I like the whole rankings really I just dont get why the Packers jumped the Eagles. PFT said the Packers beat the Ravens in a Sloppy Game and the Eagles rolled over the Falcons.
They both beat playoff contenders but the Eagles did it with half their players missing ( Granted the Falcons were injured to but the Eagles dismantled them.)
I think you should have said "The team that can't win in December will play the team that doesn't lose in December". Dallas vs San Diego.
i even saw the sarcasm coming from mike -- and i'm a packer fan. maybe if you weren't so quick to pick out your cute little asshats you'd really think about what's being said before you copy and paste a post just to look witty.
that being said - hell yes the packers deserve to be in the 7th spot. i'm not saying they've played the best all year or that they didn't get as many penalties as they have, but they’re a damn good team. i'm not even going to start on the vikes or favre because you've heard it all before from packer fans, but i will say this: the vikings always choke and this season will be no different.
Sorry Mike. I was so blinded with anger when I saw your post I didn't catch the sarcasm. You can't really blame me though. There are Packer fans on here that are actually stupid enough to say, in all seriousness, what you said.
Melissa,
I can draw three conculsions from your comments:
1) you're brighter than 90% of the people in here.
2) you're delusional.
3) you don't have a shift key on your key board.
I'd love to visit with you the next time I'm in Eau Claire. Please stay in touch.
XOXOXOX
Mike
Mike
Yes, you do need to clarify that you are joking, because your post sounded frighteningly similar to almost every other Packer homer post on here.
Melissa, if by damn good team, you mean slightly above average, then you are dead on. Damn good teams don't lose to 0-8 teams, and they don't get blown out by a division rival on their own field.
ManBearPig, don't be so angry. I know Packer fans are capable of saying those things. I know, MBP. I know! But life is too short.
Let us embrace our friends to the East. They are good for football and they are good for Viking fans. We're 10-2, they're not. Next year, they'll probably be 10-2 and we won't be. It ebbs, it flows. Life is about balance, MBP. We mock them, they mock us. Deep down, we love each other. I'd hate it if Green Bay sank into Lake Michigan and they'd hate it if the queens moved to L.A. We're all just a bunch of rubes that care way too much about 25 year old dudes that run 40 yards in 4 seconds. At the end of the day, we're all part of a big dysfunctional family.
So don't be angry at your family members to the east. Sure, Packer fans are kind of like the creepy uncle in the family, but drinking paint-thinner to catch a buzz isn't that weird. Is it?

If Packer fans are a creepy uncle than Vikings fans are definitely a confused tranny "Aunt Bob"
Kevin from Philly-Sure did! They were freakin delicious!
Some of these posts stating the Packers are the team to beat in the NFC makes me laugh and see how Packer fans are so desperate for there team to suceed they make stupid comments. If your the team to beat in the NFC, I guess a 3rd whipping is in line......lmao
Melissa:
I'm not "trying" to look witty, I am witty.
Careful, you may just be the next asshat.
Jeff – Now that you know Mike is a viking fan, I guess his name isn't so disconcerting? That's not fair.
Mike - Is that better? I know, shame on me. There's no excuse for not capitalizing letters in a thread of idiots who spend their time trying to sway everyone else to their way of thinking. Damn you, Microsoft Word, makin’ me think everyone’s going to capitalize letters and check spelling for me. But Jesus, Mike, you’re just too darn cute for me to get mad at you.
Anyway, does having the #1 defense in the league mean anything? I know, I know, it doesn't really matter until you can say you're still ranked one at the end of the season. But to be clear, when I say the Packers are a good team that doesn’t mean I think we’re going to win the goddam division.
26. Buffalo Bills (4-8) (Last week: 19) (at Chiefs). Some folks in Toronto think that the Argonauts might have given the Jets a better game.
Ouch. Did you see the Argos this year? They have to get rid of that idiot Andrus and get a real coach.
I think you should have said "The team that can't win in December will play the team that doesn't lose in December". Dallas vs San Diego
I agree, Ed. For some reason Florio just can't compliment the Chargers. His two cents about them had nothing to with their playing, but Brown's arrogance. WTF?! Oh well, keep rollin' Chargers!
Good God man! You could have at least got someone to review this crap list of yours before posting it! Would have saved you the embarrassment of being ridiculed for the Dumbass you obviously are!
I was only giving you a hard time, MFEC. You're my gal.
