Patriots coach Bill Belichick won’t hold Randy Moss, Adalius Thomas, Gary Guyton, and Derrick Burgess out of practice for more than one day.
The group known as “The Tardy Four” in New England was back on the field for practice Thursday, one day after being sent home for showing up late to work. (Perhaps Thomas flew like the Jetsons to be on time.)
Of greater concern for the Patriots was the absence of Tom Brady from practice for the second straight day. Yesterday, it was believed Brady missed practice partly because of the birth of his son. He was at the team facility all day, but didn’t sleep the night before.
Now it appears Brady is sitting out because of his finger injury. Brady played through the injury against Miami, and it didn’t appear to hurt his performance. His first three quarters were nearly flawless before an ugly final frame.
Brady did visit the locker room briefly during the Dolphins game for a reported arm injury, but didn’t miss a snap.
There doesn’t seem to be a lot of concern that Brady could miss Sunday’s game yet, but his absence from practice is out of the ordinary.
