Restraining order granted against Suggs

A restraining order filed one week ago against Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs was granted Friday.

Suggs reportedly agreed to the decision, without admitting any wrongdoing.  The mother of Suggs' two children, Candace D. Williams, accuses Suggs of pushing her and sitting on her while threatening to douse her with bleach.

The woman has since sued Suggs for $70 million, but has reportedly given up her desire to have custody of the couple's children.

The hearing Friday negotiated the former couple's breakup.  They will share custody and Suggs will pay $35,000 a month in child support.

"He does not want to be near her at all," Suggs' lawyer said of Williams.

    $35,000 an month = $210,000/child per year x years until age 18.

I don't want to sound callous but wouldn't a hitman be cheaper?

Okay, fact check. If he agreed, that makes it a consent order. That means there were NO findings of abuse. All he did was agree to stay away from her.

Seriously guys, Maryland law is online. You can find this stuff fairly easily.

Nice math Bob Nelson.... $35K per month * 12 months = $420k per year

judging by the fact that the mom doesnt want custody of her children makes me think she is just another gold digger. or she is just the worst mother ever.

Not to pick sides here, but Bob Nelson did say: $210,000 per child, per year. So 2 children, at $210,000 per child, is $420,000. You take $420,000, and divide it by 2, and you get the total per child, of $210,000

I don't know how many of those "never shake a baby" ads I've seen...countless. Not one "never bleach a baby." Suggs should sue the Public Service Announcement guys.

Maybe it was the way it was written, but the following slightly confuses me...

"The woman has since sued Suggs for $70 million, but has reportedly given up her desire to have custody of the couple's children.

The hearing Friday negotiated the former couple's breakup. They will share custody and Suggs will pay $35,000 a month in child support."

If she "reportedly" gave up custody, why is she getting child support?

210k per year for one kid ... wtf

Oops.. Glanced over the story. Didn't read the 2 kids part. Need to stop drinking and reading - Can be dangerous....

"but has reportedly given up her desire to have custody of the couple's children."

This would seem pretty obvious that what is intended here is her agreement to not pursue sole custody and accept "shared custody" as is mentioned. $35 G seems like it ought to keep the kids in play dough, but in most states it is factored by what is considered a "reasonable" percentage of the highest earning spouse's income. When Suggs the thug quits playing and his income goes to zilch they will have to reconsider the amount.

I'd let Suggs sit on me for $70 million.

  19. Krow says: December 12, 2009 8:37 AM

Too funny... these fools deserve what happens to them. They ask for it... beg for it. Tough... no sympathy at all for Suggs. Next time keep away from the lowlife.

From local Bmore news this morning - the woman was a stripper that Suggs met at a strip club. Gee, why am I not surprised. O yeah, and she no longer dances and has become a "full time homemaker." No police report. No calls to 911. Just filed a protective order and a $70M lawsuit!

Suggs consented to the protective order because he "doesn't want be anywhere near her." And the fact the she CONSENTED to Suggs having custody says a TON about whether he was physically abusive and whether he presents a threat to her or the kids.

I think I've heard all I need to know! And yes, Kanye's "Golddigger" comes to mind... At $35K/month I hope Ms. Thing enjoys the retirement that we are all paying for, in a way...

Of course she doesn't want full custody of the kids. She wants to go shopping and spend some of that $35,000 a month. For alot of folks, 35K is a yearly wage.

The child support laws in America are out of control.
