SportingNews.com: Week 14 10-pack

As another work week eases into the station (translation:  you haven’t gotten anything done all day so why start now?), we’ll help make the clock move a little less slowly with our weekly 10-pack from SportingNews.com.

Here it is.

And don’t forget about us this weekend.  There are still plenty of opportunities for checking out PFT via laptop or wireless device, preferably from Sprint, while not on company time.

unfortunately, you’re at least partially right about the Bengals. But did the Bengals beating those two teams have more of an adverse effect on them than what you’re proposing (that the Bengals are lesser because Pitt has imploded and Balt. is not what they were last year)?
Pitt still beat Minnesota, does that reflect badly on them? One would think that the gander gets the same treatment as the goose no?
You’re completely right about finding out what this team is capable of the next two weeks, that’s right on, albeit obvious.
Bengals find a way to keep Farve dodging ineffectively, and expose the Vikings O line poor run blocking. Gotta have a good effort from the Bengals O though, I predict a Packers/Bears output in terms of Offense, twenty four plus. I will also homer it up and predict a win for my Bengals, 31-21.
    Who Dey!!!

I’d add this to your point that the league won’t like the Colts resting players:
The league is currently trying to convince the players union and fans that the season should be 2 games longer than normal…but wouldn’t that just make it more likely that teams would see fit to rest players during the regular season?

I know I’m a homer for the Pack, but seriously Florio, the Packers have the easiest schedule of the bunch that are mixing it up for the playoff spots.
The Cowboys have the Chargers this weekend, the Saints the following week and then the Eagles at home in the finale. They do get a “break” with Washington but the last time those squads hooked up, Dallas won 7-6 at home.
The Eagles go to the Giants this week before hosting their “break” team in the 49ers and then they get Denver before closing against Dallas
The Giants host Philly and then get two easier teams in Carolina and Washington and then have to go to the Metrodome in week 17.
I’d say going to Soldier Field and then up to Pittsburgh to play a team that just lost to the Browns, hosting the Seahawks and then going to Arizona who will likely have nothing to play for is an easier route.
It’s no given that the Pack get in for sure and I realize it doesn’t fit your narrative, but at least don’t be fast and loose with the facts Florio.

The Bengals have not scored an offensive TD in the SECOND HALF since Oct. 25 vs the Bears! The Vikings are averaging a little over 31 points a game at home this season. Just can’t see the Bengals keeping up with us there. Vikings will shut down the run as always and force them to pass. Bengals have only passed for 3 TD’s in the last 5 games vs. secondaries such as Det. and Cleveland,Oak. and Balt. Vikings by 10

So Florio the master, what does it say about the Vikings losing to the Steelers? The Vikings suck too?

@PercyHarvin, you forgot to mention the run to pass ratio the Bengals have implored the last few games. AS for the touchdown ratio, when you play with a lead, you tend to play more conservative in the second half.
Of course its hard to run on the Vikings, you have a large manufacturing facility of a man who just sits in the middle. He is a huge man!
Your 31 points mean “squat” as they havent played against the top defenses in the league, especially the #2 Bengals defense. I predict three INT’s from Favre and a real close game. For the Viking to win, they have to stop the Bengals RB’s from killing them on the edge. He went to Jared!!

@ WhoPlaysWhere, Bengals is the # 4 overall defense. GreenBay is # 1,we beat them twice. Balt. and Pitt. is # 9 and 10 overall. GBay is # 3 vs run and pass. Cincy is # 1 run d followed by Vikings #2. So we will see who will run on who eh? So you saying we have not played any good D’s holds 0 credibility. When our O fires up,they are hard to stop at home for sure. 0 picks Favre and 2 for Palmer! LOL

    Pervy,
You being annoying aside, atleast dont make us read your post twice. Your first post on this thread is cut and pasted from the last thread discussing the Bengals vs Vikings game. I mean most of your post you atleast attempt to mix the words around to pretend you came up with an original thought. Now you are just getting lazy.
That being said I have no idea how this game is going to play out. Two teams with solid records who have not played many games against the elite teams. Should be a test for both teams. Can the Bengals figure out all the presnap penalties? Can the Vikings get AP back on track? Either way I am hoping for a physical well played football game.
    Oh yeah, WHO DEY!!!
