The Cincinnati Bengals have turned Cedric Benson into a workhorse back this season, with 37, 34 and 36 carries in his last three full games.
But Benson has missed two games and parts of another, and now the Bengals may be reducing his workload.
Steve Wyche of NFL Network reported on NFL GameDay Morning that Benson and Larry Johnson will share carries today against the Minnesota Vikings.
It’s a move that makes a lot of sense: The Bengals are going to be a playoff team, and they need to have Benson healthy and fresh into January. Giving him 35 carries a game in December isn’t the way to do that. Acquiring Johnson may turn out to be a mid-season move that makes a big difference down the stretch for Cincinnati.
Goin Ham baby!
The Vikings have allowed 2- 100 yard rushers in the last 60 games. Give it to Benson, give to Johnson or mix it up.Don’t matter to the Vikings. The Bengals will have to air it out to attempt victory.
wow. Larry Johnson getting 36 carries would be awesome.
at 2 yards per carry that would be 72 yards!!!!
all I can say is good luck!
*snicker*
I guess cocky viking fans forgot what happened when they actually played a good team a week ago, they got smoked.
jkorn, I may be wrong but I do not think most these comments are cocky vikings fan. Being a Chiefs fan, I think they are anti-Johnson statements. As in, good luck with Johnson.
Johnson is truly a cancer.
@ Pervy and Twiz.
Yeah, the Ravens had the longest streak going before we put it to them….TWICE.
We will see.
