Chargers-Cowboys one-liners

Said Cowboys QB Tony Romo after the 20-17 loss to the Chargers, “I know how it looks from the outside perspective. It looks like a difficult road ahead.”

Immediately following the win, the Chargers were already talking about getting ready for next week.

Said Chargers RB LaDainian Tomlinson, “Winning breeds confidence and winning breeds more winning. The more you win, the more you have confidence that you’re going
to make the plays when it’s time to make the plays.”

The Cowboys’ offense converted just one of eight third downs, while the Chargers completed five of 12.

After the game the Chargers were celebrating their goal-line stand.

Asked about his past history with the Cowboys, Chargers coach Norv Turner said, “Honestly, my family and I have moved way past that.”

Chargers QB Philip Rivers gave Turner a game ball.

Unlike the Cowboys, the Chargers have been dominant in December.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones wants to see improvement in the kicking game.

Jones gave a big speech to the team after the loss.

I’m surprised there are any other soundbites other than Charger players laughing at Wanda Phillips and the rest of the cowgirls.

OK,OK, the Chargers made a believer out of me.
I had questions about their defense, but they were answered yesterday – they are the team nobody wants to play – especially the Colts. Even LT seems to have more bounce in his step.
The Cowboys? Why they don’t give the ball to Felix Jones more I’ll never understand (I think it’s a plot to kill my FF team).

When the chips are down, the Cowboys choke.
    Nothing new.

Didn’t it seem like that game was even more one sided than the score indicated? The Cowboys were exposed as mediocre in most areas of both the offense and the defense. It will be interesting to see if they continue to collapse and lose even a wild card shot.
On a positive note, I didn’t see Adams leg whip anyone, but then maybe that was why he was getting beaten on virtually every play.

    Little Dumber Boys:
Didn’t go for three, because my playcallings dumb.
Can’t make third downs because, my team is dumb.
Lost in 3-D because, the owner is dumb, the owner is dumb, the owner is dumb.

Remeber Tom Cruise in the movie “Taps”, as he’s spraying the Army guys with machine gun fire- “It’s beautiful, Man!!!!!!!!!!!!”””
As a Redskins fan, I enjoyed watching another Dallas meltdown more than a Redskins win. It’s beautiful, man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tough game, horrible play calling on the goal-line. It’s amazing to me how you all get a hard-on about my team losing. It’s upsetting that we can’t win in December but it will all be okay. My defense held their own and that you can’t deny, with a pass interference from Sensabaugh that just killed us and put the Chargers on the 1 other than that the Chargers didn’t do much on offense.. It was 20-17.

i just love how you all jump on the cowboys this time of year. most of your teams are completely out of the playoff picture, but hey, as long as the cowboys lose, all is right with the world, right? as for eagles fans, how soon you forget your season’s woes…just like every year, calling for reid and mcnabb’s head….lose to oakland much? …and dont start telling me about winning when it counts…you have NEVER won a SuperBowl and your “Championships” might as well have come from a blackjack league…different times, different teams, different rules, different game…nuff said

Chargers didn’t do much on offense? Ware goes down. Two plays later the Chargers marched 60 yards including converting a 3rd and 12 to score a TD.
Then a masterful drive that ate up 7 minutes of clock to chip a FG and seal the game.
Good thing we didn’t do much on offense.

2009: Getting hot at the right time, again, laughing at the Cowboys in their rearview, again.
    So, uh, you were saying?

The eagles suck. They have the biggest choke artist in history of football. Donovan mcsucks, the vomitting crybaby that has not and never will win. I’m happy the egles win every year. It’s so much better watching them lose when all the money is on the line.

Your wall-of-text whine is music to my ears. Take comfort in the championships that your team won in yesteryear, because they really matter now.
And people get a kick out of razzing the Cowboys because their fanbase is so obnoxiously arrogant. Just re-read what you wrote and try telling me otherwise.

  16. Bedhead says: Dec 14, 2009 12:20 PM

Yep, Eagles have had a much better decade than the Cowboys. For us Cowboys fans, we are in uncharted territory. The Cowboys have never been this futile for this long. Even as an expansion team in 1960 they were a contender within 6 years. They faded again in the mid-80s after 20 winning seasons, but were competitive again by ’91.
Jerry Jones overall has been a great owner, but his insistence on powderpuff head coaches (Gailey, Campo, Wade) has now become a huge liability. I thought he solved the problem once and for all with the Bill Parcells hiring, but he’s practically undone all that good work by hiring Wade. Should have promoted Payton or Sparano or hired Singletary.
But hey we wouldn’t be real fans if we didn’t stick with our team when they weren’t winning championships. You Eagles fans know what that’s like.

    Bedhead:
All true and well said. And yes, Eagles fans know better than almost anyone what it’s like to have flashes of brilliance interspersed with long drawn out periods of sucktitude.

the thing is, the playoffs are a crapshoot. Not like baseball where you have a best of 7 series.
The Eagles are ALWAYS competitive, and have some of the best young players in the NFL and a stable organization. They will be good for years to come, the window never closes. One of these years they will hoist the Lombardi trophy. You gotta be in it to win it, and they are always in it.

nationscapital10 must be a deadskins fan, he knows what he is talking about…….so bitter his team has a top 10 draft pick every year now……..ragging on mcnabb cause campbell is so great…lol oh yeah and randel el and how games does portis play a year??? give me a break. go back into your hole and savor your 4 win season and top 10 pick again. that haynesworth signing is working out……

anyone who thinks that game was close was watching a different game. there was at least 3 huge non-calls for PI by that defense, Jenkins was constantly mauling his man early. if there was no PI on those plays, or if they were called correctly, the score would have been 41-10. our offense was unstoppable on our last drive, we could have easily punched the ball in for a TD, but we are a PLAYOFF team, and we close games instead of trying to be cute about things and build unnecessary leads to pad our stats (*cough*patriots). We forced them to use all their timeouts, and left them with 2 minutes to score twice. prevent, tackle in bounds, automatic win. there was only one NFL coach at that game.
