Eagles wide receiver Jeremy Maclin will miss 1-2 weeks of action with a foot injury, but the Philadelphia could get a bigger part of the offense back in the lineup.
The Delaware County Times writes that the Eagles “quietly confirmed” they expect Brian Westbrook to return to action against the 49ers. “Only a medical setback” would prevent Westbrook from playing, according the report.
Considering all of the concern about Westbrook, we’re a little surprised about the news. But this is hardly the first time a player has returned after two concussions in one season.
Andy Reid is also optimistic Kevin Curtis will play Sunday for the first time since Week Two.
the return of westbrook will offset the loss of maclin for sure , but to have them both on the field at the same time would be unstoppable. will need westbrook for a deep playoff run for sure though and the defence needs to get alot better after what i watched last night against a somewhat predictable ginats offence.

Only one team wins every year. The Eagles are usually one of the teams that can be there, year in and year out for the last decade.
There isn’t any shame in not winning it all, and as long as the team is one of those that CAN be the winner, I’m on board with them.

Cleveland if u had watched the saints game u would have seen the eagles, with a rookie making his first start, gave the saints all they could handle for much of the game. The score is very deceiving, and kolb put up over 300 yards on them.

I think this is what Heckert meant when he said the Eagles had the best roster in the league on paper (paraphrazing).
With all the injuries the Eagles have had this season and still be able to have a 9-4 record goes along way in that arguement. He didnt say the Eagles had the best starters in the league. He was talking about the whole team. When star players go down as often as they did for the Eagles this year and for them to have backups who are able to come in and get it done shows the talent level from player 1 through 53.
Im not saying the Eagles are the best team in the league. Obviously they arent. I do think however if you compared the Eagles 53 man roster to any other team in the league its hard to argue against them.
But that doesnt mean the Eagles are going to win it all. You still have to go out and capitalize on your talent and play the game. As of right now the Colts, Saints, Vikings, and Chargers have done that better. We will see in February which team can do it the best when its all on the line.

Look for the Eagles to use Westbook more as a receiver than normal if he does come back this week. And they will limit the number of touches he gets. Would be even better to get Kevin Curtis back full strength.
To all the people thinking the Saints or Vikings are unbeatable… well the Vikings have already been beaten. The Saints are damn good, but their defense is showing holes and they should have lost to the Redskins and Atlanta. Not exactly powerhouses.
If anyone actually watches football you’ll know that its not necessarily the best team that wins anyway. It just matters who makes more plays in playoff games and in the Superbowl. Anyone remember the Giants beating the unbeatable Pats two years ago?
Personally, I like the Eagles chances against the Vikings. They’ve played well against Favre in the past and made him look silly. The Saints – the Eagles might be the best team in the NFC right now to match up with them in a shootout.
Although I’m sure the league would love it, the Superbowl is not going to end up being the Colts vs. the Saints. Would be hilarious if it ends up being Chargers vs. Eagles.
