Matt Leinart warms up for Arizona

With Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner taking a hard hit from 49ers defensive end Justin Smith in the first quarter of Monday night’s game at San Francisco, Warner seems to be in pain on the sidelines — and Matt Leinart is warming up.

It remains to be seen whether Leinart enters the game.

Stay tuned.

I love everything about Kurt Warner, but I dont see any way he continues playing after this season.

Am I the only person who is sick of Jon Gruden?

    @ this class sucks
I don’t care what he does as long as he stops trying to be a commentator. He sucks on MNF.

I don’t see a live blog for MNF, so I’m going to whine about the absurd rules regarding catches here.
How does the fact that Fitzgerald fought off two defenders to come down with that ball before he was down (at which point he was stripped) translate into an incomplete pass?
It is the single most galling aspect of watching the game for me, over the last few years, and I live in Western NY, where there is plenty of galling football to go around.

Gruden is the best thing about MNF since Dan Fouts…

You know, if this seeding holds up, the 5th seeded Green Bay Packers will be playing the 4th seeded Arizona Cardinals in consecutive weeks; in week 17 as the regular season finale and then again in round 1 of the playoffs, both in Glendale.

Not to be overly critical, but how many times has the referee said the wrong thing in this first half? I count 6 or 7 times he’s said either the wrong team name, wrong penalty name or wrong outcome (1st down rather than 3rd, 3rd rather than 2nd, SF has no more challenges this half…should have been game, etc).
Not a huge deal, but not exactly good to see either.

Nice missed FACEMASKING call in the middle of the field where the runner’s head almost pops off. No officiating problem here, just move along.

    Was it another head injury?
Because he told Peter King he didn’t like the way the new, safer helmets felt…..so he was just going to wear a baseball cap from now on.
Letting people who suffer a lot of head injuries decide on the best way to protect their head from injury doesn’t seem like the brightest idea….unless you’ve had a lot of head injuries.

Gruden would be maybe fun to party with since he thinks he’s Hank Moody. His ass licking commentary is sickening though. Does he criticize anyone??

  18. PurpleRaid12 says: Dec 14, 2009 10:07 PM

Wow, I wonder how many spots the Cardinals will fall from those rankings if they lose……. I mean the Vikes fell 4 spots after losing to the Cards.

Boldin has totally quit on the team. Not finishing routes leading to interceptions. He is obviously not happy about his contract and is going to dog his way out of there.

Gruden sucks….but does anyone see this young and emerging 49ers team? They may already be out of the playoffs this year but this team is on the rise boys!

  21. Reginald says: Dec 14, 2009 10:16 PM

5 turnovers in the first half. This game is great.

  22. MNFANINAZ says: Dec 14, 2009 10:18 PM

I guess the Cards aren’t Super Bowl contenders.
Bunch of scrubs who made their name off of 1 win.
    Shut up everyone about Arizona.
    they’re average at best.

  23. PurpleRaid12 says: Dec 14, 2009 10:48 PM

clearly, it was an injury-infested, off-night for the Vikings last week….

Alright it looks like I am not the only one who is sick of Gruden. Michael Smith would be great! I never see him anymore, he used to be on Around the Horn. I actually like TK (The guy on PTI whose name I can’t spell). He makes some weird points but he would be an upgrade from Gruden. “he 49ers can’t win by throwing the ball” then 5 min later “man I can see why the 49ers throw the ball so often” lol wtf?
