Andy Reid not happy about hit on DeSean Jackson

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson had a big night Sunday, scoring two electrifying touchdowns in a win over the New York Giants. But Eagles coach Andy Reid was talking on Monday about another play Jackson was involved in, and he wasn’t happy about it.

Jackson, who was returning to action after missing the previous week’s game with a concussion, had a facemask-to-facemask collision with Giants defensive back Aaron Ross that Reid said should have been a penalty.

“I had a good view of it,” Reid said, per Bob Grotz of the Lansdale Reporter. “And the official was looking at the spot so he didn’t see it. The league takes care of the rest. I’m not going to tell you I’m happy about it. But the official, if he would have seen it, he would have called it.”

Reid also acknowledged that his own players, including defensive end Trent Cole, weren’t exactly blameless in a game that will probably result in multiple fines.

“You just have to be smart with it,” Reid said. “You have to play within the rules and regulations.”
