I have over 3 Million safe road miles in my life.I smoked.But after work,and not driving down the road,because thats illegal!I would rather drive down the interstate with 1000 people smoking pot than one drunk.How many times a day do we get a news flash saying,man smokes pot kills wife and kids.or Man goes home and beats family after smoking pot!Never!But i cant count the times i have seen alcohol the cause of death in family argument.Or man smoking joint causes 30 car pile up on interstate.Lets get real with this if we are going to talk about it!

If you are going to smoke pot in the car, don’t do anything that might get you pulled over. That includes speeding, going through stop signs, littering, DRIVING WITH EXPIRED PLATES, and HAVING SUPER-TINTED WINDOWS. For Jeebus’ sake, you don’t want to give the cops an excuse to pull you over!
For years, I used to smoke in the car ALMOST every single day, no exaggeration. Stupid? Yes, but I NEVER got pulled over (while I was driving, anyway). I didn’t need tinted windows, either.
Obey simple traffic laws and you can do whatever you want in the car.

To anyone who says “big deal, he was smoking some dope”:
How do you feel about someone getting behind the wheel of a car and drinking while he was driving? Is that okay with you? Let’s count the raised hands that say “sure, no problem”.
NO ONE supports the idea of a person getting behind the wheel of a car and busting open a fifth of hooch. Yet there’s Babineux sparking one up WHILE BEHIND THE WHEEL OF HIS CAR!
You can minimize smoking dope, fine, but you can’t say it doesn’t impair your driving.
He may have been breaking the law by possessing Marijuana. He may have been breaking NFL rules by using a banned (illegal) substance. He may have been an idiot for jeopardizing a lucrative career in his quest to get high. But the worst offense this jackass did was to light up a fatty and get stoned WHILE HE WAS DRIVING!!!!!
Babineux is a moron for being that stupid, and anyone who says he did nothing wrong is looking at the wrong problem. I don’t care if his body “takes a pounding” all week long for months on end. Don’t get high while on the road and risk MY LIFE on your quest for a little “relief”, liquid OR herbal.

Legalize pot already and be done with this bullcrap. I’m not a smoker by any means, rather cigs, pot or whatever, but leave those who do alone already. Quit trying to arrest them or ban smoking in this place or that place, or raising the taxes on cigs. I drink from time to time and no one is raising the taxes on my drinks, and I’m willing to bet that having a drinking habit is just as bad as being a heavy smoker. The government frowns on prostitution but yet we have the porn industry. Wowww what is the difference? One act is done in a car with no camera, while the other is done in a hotel room with camera and distributed to the public. It’s a joke, anything the government can tax without public uproar is fine, but anything that is subject to a public backlash they want to make illegal. The sad part is that the NFL openly endorses alcohol consumption and the team-physician, prescribed use of dangerous narcotics to deal with injuries and stress.
Marijuana is a non-toxic herb and no one has ever died from overdose nor became violent because of it’s effects.
I applaud Ricky Williams, Mark Stepnoski and other NFL players who chose to use marijuana, be it medicinally or recreational.
