No comment to the fact that none of the courts have found against them huh?
"SOP" for adam focus not on the subject at hand, but on secondary points.
That it's gone this far and the NFLPA is still there speaks volumes. They have a case and you know it, and your excessive bs to the contrary doesn't change that.
your stances on things is idiotic and that you don't know it is pretty funny.

They are backed by the NFLPA, they must have a case or it wouldn't be in the court system this long!!
------------------------------
Name me one player who had his back turned on him by the players association. It doesn't prove anything that (1) the case has been going on for awhile or (2) that the players association backs them. They back their own, even to the detriment of the league, like this case. All it proves is that the PA will fight the league to their last breath and that Pat and Kevin have money to burn. Any rich man would be able to drag this thing out with high paid lawyers.

That BS that "some vikings season ticket holding judge" is letting them off is preposterous.
--------------------------
I've never tried to make that case, but it doesn't surprise me one bit that you'd take someone else's words and attribute them to me. Goes right along with your general standard of making up bullshit or twisting arguments.
In fact, months ago when some idiot tried playing the "season ticket holding judge" argument I went to Judge Magnuson's website and pointed out that it said he was a Gopher season ticket holder, but said nothing about Vikings tickets.

Yep you pay the lawyer to help you fight a case where you have rights under Minnesota state law!
If you want to be mad, be mad at the NFL, they are the ones who had their heads up their collective asses on this. You should be able to relate to that.....
Nah, you wouldn't get a lawyer to get you out on a technicality if you could, no,no, never....that is laughable.
I don't believe that for 1 minute.
-----------------------------
No, I wouldn't fight it. I'd accept the penalty and be done with it. Don't believe me. I don't care. I'd accept the punishment if I broke the rules.

Are you that retarded? Don't answer that question, it was rhetorical.
You are going to come down on the anti side and i will come down on the pro. Just because it's Vikings.

It's plain and simple, you just refuse to see it.
It's been before how many judges in how many courts? And it's always in the Williams' favor....
Should tell you something.

they aren't the ones who "decided". They must have damn good lawyers to have found this out for them.
if you were in a spot and you could get out on a loophole, youd do it, it's human nature.
At least you were honest in your last paragraph.
------------------------------
They aren't the ones who decided that? Really? Couldn't they have accepted the suspensions and moved on... More than a year ago? They ARE the ones who decide that because they are the ones who fought it.
Don't try to play the "it's my lawyer's decision" card. It's BS. You are responsible for the way you are defended by your lawyer.

It's really not that different. you just can't stand the fact that Minnesota has a law like that and the NFL was too stupid to cover the loophole.
-------------------------------
It is different. It's absolutely different. There's no denying they violated the terms of the collective bargaining agreement. There's no denying the fact that every other team in the league is bound by those rules.
With Jolly, nothing's been proven yet. With Pat and Kevin, it's all been proven. They are subject to the collective bargaining agreement. If I were Goodell, and the state of Minnesota strikes down this ruling, I'd view the CBA null and void with respect to Vikings players. As such, I'd feel free to violate the CBA to serve my own purposes.
And no, it's not just because it's the Vikings. I'd feel the same way if it were the Saints players who decided they weren't bound by the same rules. I wouldn't be as vocal about it, but I'd feel the same way.

ok well 200 grams is a lot different than 200 milligrams. Even though I still think codeine is hardly an illicit drug, 200 grams is definitely an amount that has "intent to distribute" written all over it.
The reality is this is a drug that helps people deal with pain; this isn't heroin or steroids. Codeine is much less damaging than even HGH to human tissue.
I guess I don't understand the extent to which law enforcement is hammering the guy.

This isn't the same as the Williamses case. Jolly was arrested for breaking the law. He was arrested for possession of a banned substance.
The Williamses took a legal over the counter pill that happened to contain extremely small traces of a banned diuretic.
Stop trying to compare the two. They would only be the same if Jolly had failed an NFL codeine screen for taking some Robitussen. In that case I would side with Jolly as well even though he plays for a weak rival team. That isn't what happened though.

You're exactly right--it's not the same.. Jolly hasn't been proven to have violated any NFL rules. Jolly hasn't been suspended by the league. The Williamses have.
Again, I won't even begin to make lame excuses for Jolly. I hope the truth comes out and I hope justice is served. If it was his, I hope he gets nailed and suspended.
On the other hand, Pat and Kevin were nailed and they were suspended. They just haven't had to sit out.

This isn’t the same as the Williamses case.
That isn’t what happened though.

texasPHINSfan - same could be said about the Star Caps thing with the Williams'. Honestly, do they look like they are on steroids? Especially Pat? It is ALSO used as a dieretic...something that makes much more common sense than the use of steroids when you look at those big boys.
I do not know as much about codeine as you apparently do, so I have to trust your statement. Which means Jolly is not being treated fairly.

Anybody realize exactly how little 200 mg of codeine is? You can buy that amount of codeine over the counter through other medications.
Why this warrants charges is beyond me. Is it because he didn't have a "prescription"? Would he have been better off if he transported them in Nyquil bottles?

It's a typo in the Press-Gazette article and it's been carried over to Florio's post. It's 200 GRAMS, not 200 milligrams.

Adam-Chris Scheftersen - LOL, that was a funny story, man. Happened in Proctor, MN...basically a suburb of Duluth. Dude get rolled up on by the cops after he hits a parked car with his...wait for it...motorized Lay-Z-Boy recliner. Not a proud day to be a Minnesotan to be sure.
Ruvell100 - Yeah, some pretty messed-up stuff. I bet if we got news from any other part of the country you would see weird stories like this everywhere.
Live sheep? 'Recon it's better than a dead horse, but it is all so relative. LOL!
Another thing I notice when traveling around northern WI...either the residents don't use them or the car dealerships just don't equip their cars with turn signals. And I mean it happens ALL THE TIME. Frustrating sometimes, but mostly just funny.

@DuluthFan- I'm a proud Wisconsinite, but that is still funny as hell. I never knew that he also killed a horse with the intention of pounding it.
I bet a live sheep would be fun.

This is 10 times worse then the Starcaps case against the Williams Wall and the Saints players. Jolly knew exactly what he was doing, and that is a illegal activity on the streets. They can get him with intent to deliver as well, which would really be bad for him.
So Packer fans, don't be so quick to talk smack about the Starcaps case when your boy did a lot worse. If you say these players deserve to be suspended for 4 games, then Jolly deserves to be suspended for 8 games.
------------------------------
Yes, it's definitely worse than taking a spiked diuretic.. If it's actually Jolly's stuff. But I won't make excuses for turds. And if he's hanging out with turds, then he's a turd by association. I'll personally support whatever punishment comes out if it's proven the drugs were his. His suspension would hurt the team, but I'm not going to be a hypocrite.
Regarding the Williamses. They are guilty because the drug was found in their system. However, they are not forced to suffer the consequences because of the state they play in. It's a shame that the NFL cannot enforce its own rules.

Quuen fans will cream in their jeans on this one, of course he will probably be on their team next year with the rest of the junkies
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Seriously? Can you please tell me exactly why the Vikings would want Jolly when we already have the best DL as is? We have 2 Pro Bowl DT's in the Williams Wall, and a Pro Bowl freak at DE in Allen.
I tell you what though, we may get Kampman to put in at DE opposite Allen. Wouldn't that just be misery for you GB fans?
P.S. Use spell check.
