Please be quiet before more of your ignorance oozes through the page. I don’t know too many black people who give a shit about golf, much less are taking up for Woods. Most black people don’t care. Don’t bring up race when it’s not at all relevant to the subject except to highlight your apparent racial biases.
Most public figures, black or white, have defended his right to privacy. However, Portis has an angle because he and Woods have what in common? Oh yeah, they’re both at least partially black. You’re a dumb ass.

Race has nothing to do with this case except for some of you strange white men who have a hang up of seeing a black man with a blue eyed, blonde woman. Every one of those women were adults knowingly involving themselves with a married man who couldn’t be more in the public eye and from most accounts, were mostly gold diggers. From where I come from, we call those sluts or whores. He’s a loser because no one twisted his arm to get married. You want to be a playboy, knock yourself out. And for the morons thinking that was for endorsements, I think that chest was pretty full before the wife came along…I don’t think his wife and kids were the selling point, it was strictly based on his q rating of favorability from company research because there hasn’t been an athlete who said less of substance in such a position of dominance in his chosen sport, possibly only rivaled by Jordan. His wife is a psycho because no matter what happens in a relationship, you don’t hit anyone, much less lay a person out with a golf club.
all of the dummies trying to turn this into a race situation are just dumb. You know, because powerful white men like Mark Sandford, Bill Clinton, Mel Gibson, Joe Theisman, Bill Bellichick, John Elway, Joe Montanna, etc. don’t cheat. Give me a break. Feel free to just wear your racist bumper stickers all the time so I know who you are, and don’t wait for this kind of opportunity to crow bar that shit in.
Portis was asked about the situation just as Peyton Manning was apparently asked about it, just like every celebrity or even minor public figure has been asked about the situation because it’s all over the news.
Americans kill me. We love our freedoms, except when it comes to people, with no consequence to your well being, living their own lives. Businesses will assess consequences to Woods not for his actions but because the curtain is pulled back on his life, and he’s no longer bankable. To pretend that morals have anything to do with business is quite laughable.
Like I said earlier, most of these commenters would rather make believe like children. Truly sad. No wonder most of the kids today are screwed up and grow up to be horrible adults. They have morons for parents too busy making men into gods to tell their kids they shouldn’t do so.

Portis isn’t the smartest guy in the world, but he has a point in the first part of his message. Why does the world care? Let the guy do what he wants, it’s his life, not ours.

If you’re a golf fan that has followed him for a longo time, that’s one thing. Most of us couldn’t name the last tournament he played in. So who cares?

First of all I don’t cheat because I’m in love (awww how cute) and it’s morally reprehensable and disgusting. And on top of that, with AIDS, HPV, Herpes, ETC floating around it cna more than an issue of morality, but rather an issue of life and death. While I’m sure that Elin knew what she was getting herself into since if he were Eldrick the garbage man she would not have given him a sniff, that still doesnt make it right.
Bottom line is if you are not ready to stop banging random skanks, don’t get married.
And as far as public perectpion goes, if you are willing so sell yourself as a brand name and reap the benefits of millions that come with it, you also open yourself up to the citicisim that comes with it. The spotlight shines just as birght when things are bad as when they are good, if you don’t like that get off the stage.

And I beg to differ: whjen Tiger has earned only millions thru golf games yet is the first biollionaire athlete from endorsemenmtns then it means companies and firms have banked more than a vested interest in his personality and role modeling for adults and children alike. You are then accountable to a higher standard.
I say fire Tiger all the way, especial;ly if it comnes out he’s done HGH (and he certainly did get bigger/muscular from a dorky geek look a few years back), then if he straightens up give him another chance but he wont ever be in the spotlight as he once was.
If you remeber Vejay Singh, etc were ahead of Tiger years back and Tiuger was 3-5th in the world golfing and seemd to have lost his edge and people were playing as aggressive as he was and began to focus more on their hobby/golf just as Tiger only golfed, and less on their vested career/inbterests and they began to pull away fromm Tiger.
Supposedly Tiger figured it was his knee causing this loss of edge in his sport, had surgery and his knee didnt heal fast enough for his agnets and they called this noted steroid/hgh/calf’s blood canadian dr to treat him.
when Tiger emerged he was poffy/blown up with muscles and had his edge back????????
It is noted a very mainstream and popular golfer made the remark that two golfers he knew of were on HGH…here it is later and coming out now about Tigers association with the HGH DR.
you do the math but if I were about to break all the records held by someone then I would cheat too, especially if people have picked up on how to play the game more aggressively and surpassed me at my own invention.

Barkley states, regarding Woods’ apparent isolation from friends, “I don’t think you can talk about it to your friends and family, because your family and friends, they’re not famous.” Barkley and famous just don’t seem to fit in the same sentence. Pathetic.

Let’s get real. This nonsense is only news because people, like little children, are looking up to another man. I fail to see how his morals affect mine since I’m an adult. Furthermore, I fail to see how any public figure’s morals affect anyone, even children if their parents aredoing their jobs.
The simplicity of this case is that people like to be fooled rather than know the truth. I read some of these comments about how he pulled the wool over your eyes, which couldn’t be further from the truth because he never said anything of substance. Woods was straight out of the Michael Jordan book of public life. Stay in the middle on any subject, no stances, don’t give the media any reason to scrutinize you….the public will fill in the blanks for you of who they want you to be in that case because they want to, they want to have heroes. It’s almost as pathetic as women swooning over gay men like Rock Hudson right up until the deathbed admissions of their real preferences, although it’s quite obvious from my perspective.
It’s all hilarious that grown men are outraged at the actions of another grown man., and you can’t hide behind the “Woods is a role model” argument that peppers the other sports when individuals’ morals come up because I don’t see many kids tuning into those golf matches. STop putting other men on pedestals because it’s quite sickening.
Oh, and for those people talking about the endorsements being because he sold you an image, you really don’t know how business works so stop commenting so that you don’t look dumber than you already do. He got so many endorsements because not only was he the best in that lame sport, but he didn’t ever put himself in the middle of any controversies, speaks well, and is the most physically fit looking golfer in a generation.
Bottom line is that it’s none of our business. That’s between his dumb ass, his gold digging wife, and all of those money grubbing whores that he was messing around with. I would suppose the rest of you have enough problems of your own to worry about, lol. God knows he does now that he has to write that alimony/child support check and lose his kids in the process.

Look…no need beating up on Clinton. Like in the great words of Forest Gump, “…stupid is as stupid does.” Simply put, ol’ Clinton is just being himself.
As for Mr. Woods, much has been said about his image, and presumed responsibility he has to everyone. Frankly, the only person he needs to anwer to is Elin. He caused her unspeakable pain, international humiliation AND put her health at risk. We made a choice to have an affair. But he also made a choice to use his “family man persona” to promote himself and products. This is in no way like Kobe, Dr. J., or even Magic…none of these athletes pushed their families in the forefront of their careers. We know they have families, but it was never a part of any product marketing design or branding. But it was for Tiger and that’s why people feel betrayed. Soon, more sponsors will pull out of sponsoring him. One, even two affairs is not a huge deal. Tiger is a serial cheater. And worse yet, he paid women to stay quiet…why…because he knew life as he knew it would be over.
As soon as people stop being so surprised by the actions of the Tiger’s of the world, we won’t be spending so much time online writing about it.

As a Florida grad, I happen to know that Portis had a scholarship to go to UF. But he caused so much trouble and got in fights at Gainesville High School that UF yanked the scholarship and several other regional universities refused to take him. But when you are a total f’up and no major school will take you, you always know you can find a home a U of Miami. And being able to speak is not a requirement.

BigUnit : I’m referring to the fact that Cosby stood up to the “black community” and chastised them severely for allowing young black men and women to cheat on each other, have unprotected sex, have children out of wedlock and underage, and basically buy into the stereotypes. He was criticized (putting it lightly) by the “leaders” of the “black community” (Sharpton, Cummings) for what he said. He spoke the truth.
He might do these things himself, you are correct in that I don’t know, but the fact that he actually said what he said tells me he probably hasn’t. But who knows, he might have succumbed to the stereotype himself. Wouldn’t that be ironic?
