Chilly addressed this today. No team that passed on him has stated that they did so because of his predraft paperwork indicating that he had migraines.
If such were the case, the medical files related to each draftee would be a foot thick. They’d have to prove every single illness and cold they’ve ever had.
If you’re questioning the Minnesota draft team’s integrity and thoroughness, shame on you. If they were as dumb as you seem to suggest, they wouldn’t have picked Peterson, or Rice or any of the successful picks over the past few years.

Yes, the Vikings did their due diligence on this kid. They did it on the migraines and the marijuana. Childress went to Florida and talked to Urban Meyer. He went to Virginia and talked to Harvin’s mother…and they realized that he was a top 10 (possibly top 5) talent. You take the good with the bad, and the Vikings knew the risk was worth it…I’m glad he fell on draft day, just like AD….

I would be very worried if I was a Vikings fan. Not b/c of the migraines persay he has had them all his life and has played fine with them. I would be more scared of how he would physically react to a concussion if he has one in the future.
It is scary for guys who have had no prior head problems to have a concussion. So it could be really bad for Harvin if it happens. He has reaccuring migraines already so you dont know if a concussion would make that a chronic problem that doesnt go away. Something like that could end a players career.
I hope that never happens. NFL players put their health on the line and you never want to see their careers end because of injury.
They also risk their future ability to earn money in other ways then professional sports. They have to focus so much on their craft that it doesnt leave them time to prepare for another career if football was no longer there. So if something would happen to a young promising player like that it would be devastating to him. I would never want anyone lose their ability to support their self and their family .
So everyone should pray that something like that never happens to Harvin and he can go on and play a full successful career in the NFL and more importantly a full healthy life after football without chronic physical problems such as migraines.

I cordially wish a full-blown migraine on the gentlefolk sneering at Percy Harvin’s battle with them. I doubt you would have what it takes to get through just one of them without dissolving into a whimpering bowl of jello.
The word migraine has become so common that some people think the word just describes any intense headache. A migraine is a specific type of headache, varying widely in intensity, and doctors seeking consistent success for their patients are often frustrated in those efforts.
I had migraines for roughly 25 years, from about age 12 to 35. During that time, I dutifully followed medical instructions, took all the different pills, dealt with a huge range of side effects from the pills, spent time and money, and endured agonizing pain without any consistent relief. Finally called a halt to it all, found some simple things to do that worked for me. I’ve had maybe half a dozen in the years since then, Basically, I learned how to stop (mine) within minutes of when they start. They got further and further apart, then became less severe, and finally stopped entirely, for which I’m grateful.
Does it even enter your heads (those criticizing him) that this player you’ve seen out on the field fighting, charging, leaping, taking hard hits and bone-shattering slams to the turf, jumping up and going again, is NOT a weakling, NOT a crybaby, etc.? He’s a strong guy dealing with a very real problem.
Grow up.
