Ware could play Saturday night, Bennett won't

Despite reports that he will miss at least one week and likely will miss two after injuring his neck on Sunday, Cowboys linebacker DeMarcus Ware could return on Saturday night against the Saints.

So says coach Wade Phillips, according to Tim MacMahon of ESPNDallas.com.

“He’s actually a lot better today,” Phillips said of Ware.  “He’s really in a day-to-day situation as far as where he’s going to be as far as being able to play.  He took quite a hit, but he’s really bounced back really strong.  That’s encouraging for him and us.”

And it’s possible that it’s wishful thinking from Phillips, who surely can feel his three-year stint with the Cowboys coming to a conclusion as 8-3 closes in on melting into 8-6.

Phillips also said that tight end Martellus Bennett will miss a second straight game due to lingering concussion symptoms.  Phillips explained that Bennett’s symptoms have not cleared at least one week before the game, which prevents him from playing under the league’s new concussion procedures.

Nationally televised game, only game bet in the country, of course Dallas with the poor December record will beat New Orleans who is unbeaten and great at home. With 70% of the money lost to the “wise guys”.
    And Saints won’t show up.

Irrespective of ware plays or bennett plays at the end of the day on Saturday saints would be 14-0 and Boys would be 8-6. Saints passing game will dominate the boys vulnerable secondary.

Then again, Phillips could be engaging in what every decent coach with an injured star does, force your upcoming opponent to prepare for him. Why should he give the Saints advance notice that Ware isn’t playing?
I’m applying ‘Inspector Cleuseau’ logic to the upcoming game. I predict a Cowboys win precisely because I have no logical reason to do so.

Would anyone be shocked if this team loses the remaining games, ending up 8-8?

Can Ware play safety? If not, there’s really no reason to rush him.

Actually I believe he could, he’s that great an athlete. Watching him cover RBs when he drops into coverage on a zone dog he is pretty good in coverage.

Am I alone in my thinking that Fox should just show the Dallas Cheerleader when Dallas has the ball?? They can switch back when Brees & Co. get the ball, as THAT would be entertaining!

The game is on the NFL network not FOX
