Classic finish could be coming in Jacksonville

The good news for the Colts is that their offense is playing to win.

The bad news is that their defense didn’t get the memo.

The 13-0 Colts trail the 7-6 Jaguars through three quarters, 31-28.

The game, exclusively televised by NFL Network, has featured eight lead changes.  Colts quarterback Peyton Manning and Jaguars quarterback David Garrard have each thrown three touchdowns, and neither team has punted once.

The fourth quarter begins momentarily.

    Wow.
    Sounds like a great game.
Thanks NFL for caring about the fans enough to give everyone equal access.
Blame whoever you want in the dispute….but this shit didn’t happen until the NFL created the NFL network and decided to schedule games to air solely on that channel.

excellent drop of a sure TD by colts linebacker
    is this a joke?

  5. JP Ryan says: Dec 17, 2009 10:36 PM

Where does the NFLN find these commentators?
Colts are down by 3, not 4.
The ref was clearly calling the guy down, it was not a live ball.
For god’s sake, Jacksonville was not named for Thomas Stonewall Jackson, it was named for General (and future President) Andrew Jackson (as the statue CLEARLY SAID).

  6. EdgarSnyder says: Dec 17, 2009 10:44 PM

nfl network production again is crap.
announcer keeps saying colts down by 4 (its 3)
they said hank basket caught a pass for the jags
missed a play early and didn’t even replay it.
only angle they showed of kickoff was horrible and then the replayed it.
wtf nfln are you all that incompetent?

Please move this team to L.A. Asap. These southeast sports “fans” are horrible

Thanks to the NFL Network and Cablevision for fighting like school children and depriving the largest television market in America of this game.
    Tools.

Be funny to see Colts lose with their starters in.

  10. Favre On HGH says: Dec 17, 2009 10:55 PM

And the Colts take the lead with 1 play.

The Colts are playing the game tight but a lot of good would come to Indy if they lost this game.
First, the Jags won’t beat them in the playoffs. In order to beat the Colts you need to get pressure on Peyton. Which of these four teams is least likely to achieve that: Jags, Jets, Dolphins or Ravens? They’ll all be underdogs to the Colts, but Jags have the least chance of winning.
Second, Colts would love to drop a divisional opponent in the draft. Handing the Jags a worse position for 7 rounds can only help Indy maintain control of the division going forward.

for the people complaining, its really not hard to google “live feed -insert game here-” and find a stream of it

I can’t believe that false start penalty on the Jags.
The play was well over and all of a sudden, a flag comes out of nowhere.

  17. Favre On HGH says: Dec 17, 2009 11:16 PM

Another NFL Network broadcast that reminds me of local high school game footage. Only thing is the high school games have better broadcasters.
Can’t believe the NFL wants people to pay for that garbage.

  18. SureThing says: Dec 17, 2009 11:16 PM

Joe- it was illegal formation, not false start.

Yeah, because watching grainy video with choppy audio is the same.
I don’t care enough to make the effort. The point is, the NFL Network is a money grab by the NFL, and it’s pathetic.
Why the hell SHOULD everyone have to pay for a channel THAT IS COMPLETELY USELESS FOR 8 MONTHS OUT OF THE YEAR?

  21. SureThing says: Dec 17, 2009 11:40 PM

Is he really an NFL QB? Did you watch the game? He played really well.

  22. colts fan says: Dec 17, 2009 11:43 PM

Hey hooby should have changed your mind and taken the colts. And yea, they are perfect 14-0. If Peyton Manning stays healthy he will be the the best quarterback to ever be in the nfl. He will break all the records, even Brett Farves. The man just has it all. Needless to say i am a colts fan and i have been watching Peyton since his college days at Tennessee and could see then that he had all the right moves. MY bet is that they will go undefeated and win the superbowl. This aint no patriots team. GO COLTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What an absolutely embarrassing display, football aside. I mean, the game itself was really exciting, tantalizingly exciting.
But the announcers were an absolute joke.
The announcers responded to Wayne’s 65 yard TD bomb and Simpson’s kickoff return touchdown with all of the tenacity of a harmless incomplete pass. And that doesn’t even consider their frequently egregious errors. I have no idea who Darrell Clark is, but I’m willing to bet he’s not playing Tight End for the Colts.
Not to mention, these were some of the tamest fans I’ve ever seen.
There was never a roar from the crowd. There was never a sense of budding excitement on a team most expected to finish picking in the top ten of the draft, not fighting for a Wild Card spot. And it was easy to see why: when they zoomed into the crowd, it became very clear that the reason the stadium finally filled was because all of the elderly transplanters made one journey to an oft-empty stadium.
NFLN, please, for the love of God, never do a game in Jacksonville again. In fact, never feature a game in which the Jaguars are even playing.

Thanks, SureThing. I was wondering because they said it was a false start, but still, did you see a flag until the play was way over?

    ——————-
Not surprised you missed that. They also said the Colts were down by 4 when they were down by 3. Said “Darrell Clark” caught a pass. Said a ball was live and a fumble when the refs had already clearly indicated the player was down. Said Jacksonville was named for Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson when it was really named General Andrew Jackson and the statue they were showing clearly said “Andrew Jackson”. Would announce there was an injured player then immediately cut to commercial without telling us WHO the player was… then come back to showing the game STILL without telling us what happened.
I should have just turned down the volume and listened to the radio broadcast.

  27. Bob Loblaw says: Dec 18, 2009 9:52 AM

The NFL Network sure knows how to make an exciting game seem boring.

  28. SureThing says: Dec 18, 2009 9:55 AM

Joe- I didn’t see the flag until well after the play either.
JP- I agree, that was a horrible broadcast.
