The national swine flu scare has subsided over the past several weeks, but it’s still out there.
And the Rams are proof of it.
The Associated Press reports that the Rams canceled practice Thursday due to “confirmed cases” of swine flu.
The specific number of cases was not mentioned.
Per the report, players were seen driving away from team headquarters at 11:30 a.m. for the purposes of receiving the swine flu vaccine — something that multiple teams already have provided to their players.
The league allows members of a team’s practice squad to be elevated to the active roster on game days if six or more players have swine flu. No team has been required to utilize this procedure.
Oh great, just when I need S-Jax to have a huge game for me in the fantasy playoffs, THIS happens. GREAT.
