See-saw affair in Jacksonville

Well, the folks who bought tickets to Thursday night’s game between the Colts and the Jaguars are getting their money’s worth so far.

The two teams are going back and forth, with the Jags talking a 3-0 lead, the Colts answering with a 14-play, 80-yard touchdown drive, the Jaguars then going 61 yards in 11 plays for a seven-pointer, and the Colts responding in much more efficient fashion with a 93-yard kickoff return for a touchdown from Chad Simpson.

The Jags are driving again, trailing 14-10.

Jacksonville needs the win in order to remain in serious contention for a postseason berth.  The Colts already have nailed down home-field advantage throughout the postseason, and they are three wins away from the second 16-0 season in league history.

I’m hoping that the Jaguars win, maybe it’ll be a shot in the arm for the team to get rolling for a playoff berth.
If they win it will hopefully bring in a few more fans to the games this year.

“If they win it will hopefully bring in a few more fans to the games this year.”
That’s going to be pretty difficult since this is the Jags’ last home game, and if they make the playoffs, it will almost certainly be as the #6 seed which means 0% chance of a home game.

The Jags have to make a play on defense to have a chance. The offense is playing well. Hopefully Garrard can stay on target and the defense can get a few stops in the second half.

there you have it again colts were ONLY 3 point favs over a team who miami dominated just like most nationally televised ONLY game to bet nationally the favorite throws in another stinker and the wise guys in the nfl clean up again
    dallas is next on saturday

The lack of defense is disguting. The league is so crappy at tackling compared to 30-40 years ago. The game is not the same.
You just don’t see good safety play anymore. When the Bears had Fencik and Plank hitting people, that was great football.
Now there are too many femmy Deon Sanders types that just refuse to tackle.
The NFL was a better product in the 60′s.
Records are being broken due to crappy tackling that doesn’t have any fundamentals. Football now looks like that bush league AFL crap of the 60′s.

The colts d is terrible. They are making the jags offense look great. I think sand diego takes them out again in the playoffs

this game is gonna go down as an all time classic.
Freeney and Mathis better get in on all downs if they want to escape with a W.

Not me, I’m hoping for a 16-0 vs. 16-0 super bowl. Now that would be something we’ve never seen before. Open it up with a Browns Lions rematch.

Wow, 59 points with a quarter to go.
Not a well played game by any means but exciting.

    Bob nelson are you serious?
The most mediocre player now would absolutely dominate back in the 60′s.
You put adrian peterson back in the 60′s he doesn’t get tackled his entire career. Be realistic

  13. Joe in Toronto, Canada says: Dec 17, 2009 11:03 PM

    Are you serious, meezle?

  14. meezle says: Dec 18, 2009 12:03 AM

Yes, the ”good ole days” those athletes back then would be no match for the studs today, point blank period. With all the rules protecting players from injuries now sometimes it makes players gun shy.
Back then you could clothesline a guy and were considered a hero, you do it now its 15 yards and a fedex envelope with a bill care of Rog the Commish. That’s why you don’t see good saftey play anymore.
And yes AP would rush for 2000 yards every year, and I think he’s overrated

Uh huh. You DID watch football back then though, right?
Everyone knew how to tackle, but then, everyone practiced tackling everyday, unlike now.

  16. meezle says: Dec 18, 2009 8:35 AM

I’ve watched highlights and what I saw was tackling alright, terrible form, but tackling none the less.
The only team that tackles worse than those players is the eagles
