The San Diego Chargers will be attempting to extend an eight-game winning streak on Sunday, when the Bengals come to town.
The Chargers have 10 players on the injury list, the most notable of whom is linebacker Shawne Merriman, probable with a foot injury. Merriman missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday, and he fully participated on Friday.
Center Nick Hardwick, who had been practicing recently with an ankle that he injured way back in Week One, missed practice all week and remains out. Defensive end Alfonso Boone (knee), linebacker Kevin Burnett (neck), receiver Legedu Naanee (foot), and linebacker Shaun Phillips (ankle) are questionable.
Defensive end Travis Johnson (groin), punter Mike Scifres, and safety Eric Weddle (knee) are probable.
Bengals safety Chris Corker (ankle) and defensive tackle Domata Peko (knee) are out. Running back Bernard Scott (toe) is questionable. Defensive end Robert Geathers (knee), safety Kyries Hebert (knee), defensive tackle Tank Johnson (foot), running back Brian Leonard (calf), and cornerback Morgan Trent (knee) are probable.
The Bengals aren’t talking about it, but Ochocinco has a left knee issue. I saw him limping in practice, and he was getting treatment on his left knee on one of his UStream videos.
Probably hurt it trying to beat constant triple coverage, because Coles and Caldwell aren’t scaring anyone.
He’s been beating the coverage nicely this season. 65 catches, 945 yards (I think), and 7 TDs. Those were his numbers around this time in the year during his prime.
No doubt. He’s double and triple teamed constantly.
Injured all year and it shows. No where near the explosiveness he had before the knee injury. Because he’s on the field he gets attention which allows the the other OLB, Phillips, to make quality plays.
They should rest him until the playoffs. If they are fortunate enough to get in. Just not his year on the field.

Does it really matter if Merriman plays? I mean when is the last time he contributed anything.
I think the knee injury combined with the 9 seasons he’s played may be slowing him down.
The last good hit Merriman had he was arrested for it.
Merriman should sit and save himself ……for free agency. The Bolts don’t need him to win out the rest of the season……………………………………………….. and choke in the playoffs………………as usual.
