I love how the drones from the “far right” of the Republican party like to post little jabs here and there on sites like this.
Talk about sore losers!
Criticize Obama all you want about where we are with Health Care, but knocking him about the economy? Are you just stupid? Bush/Cheney put us in this mess, a mess that was supposed to get worse this year, but the Obama administration has managed to make economic improvements across the board (sky rocketing stock market, improved real estate figures, much better than expected unemployment numbers, etc.)
And by the way, the Republicans just voted AGAINST funding our troops. In case you’re wondering, that’s a BAD thing.

Shanny is a great coach. You ‘Skins fans will be lucky to have him. Bag on the way he got the rings all you want, but he’s got them. Keep him from hiring Slowick, and you’ll be fine. His last few seasons were rough, be a “rough” season for Shanny is better than the deadskins have had in recent years.

His brand of ball won’t work in the NFC East but of course it didn’t work in Denver either once Elway was selling cars full time.

I think some of you are missing his point about why he would be working for free. He gets $7M for sitting on his ass and doing nothing. If given a choice between working and getting paid a salary or collecting the same salary and being on vacation all year, most would choose the latter.

The L’il General usually waits until March for his offseason Super Bowl victory.
If ‘Skins fans are smart (it’s not likely ’cause they hand their money to him like they’re begging to be swindled) then they’ll view this with skepticism because nothing Danny Boy has done has been the right move. Danny says he’s learned his lesson then can’t stop tinkering with his favorite toy. I seriously doubt any move he makes with work, same with that bad face-lift guy down to the south-west.

I love it how so many Redskins fans, here in DC, think that Shanny is gonna make a difference. Danny Boy hired a pushover of a GM and is still going to mismanage player personnel like clockwork. Shanahan is just another high priced face that the midget wants on his team. I would be revelling in the skins misfortune, however the owner of my favorite team (down in Dallas) is Snyder’s evil twin.

regardless of how bad Zorn is, i find it distasteful to negotiate with someone before the coach is even fired.
I have always hated Snyder because he tries to buy championships and won’t let the coaches and GM do their jobs just like JJ in Dallas.

Alright people. Inevitably, some dumbass is going to come on here and rip Florio for something. Let’s just give that a rest. I read these comments a fair amount and it’s amazing to me how many people actually take the time to read the site and then bash the writer OF the site. Not sure where the logic is in that. Plus, it’s usually a poorly educated dill hole who says LOL a lot and doesn’t know the difference between ‘there’ and ‘they’re.’ If you’re (the apostrophe implies the word is a contraction of YOU ARE—no, YOUR is not the same word) really so hell bent on trashing Florio, then go somewhere else. This is the only site where you can get fact and very reliable rumors (that happen most of the time) about football while also being entertained because somebody named Mike Florio actually makes the articles funny and enjoyable to read. I come to this site a bunch of times a day and I appreciate everything about it. Kudos to Florio and the guys that operate PFT. It’s great. Go the h*** somewhere else if you need to complain.

Shanahan is still owed $7 million in 2010 and $7 million in 2011. Thus, if he makes anything less than $7 million per year to coach the Redskins, Shanahan will essentially be working for free.

Are you serious? Any first law student could structure a contract with provisions to overcome this minor obstacle. In fact I could do it and I’m not an attorney or a first year law student.

Shanny likes to have so much control, it would be hard to see him take the coaching job without the GM position with it. Then again maybe he learned something in Denver! If he takes the job and is able to concentrate on coaching and only a few personnel decisions the NFC East better lookout!

My prediction…Shanny will be named team president and head coach after the season. Kubiack and his staff(which includes Shanahan’s son) will be fired in Houston. He will hire is boy as offensive coordinator. Mike will coach for five years and then hand the keys over to his son and will remain as team president.
Not sure if it is the right move but anything is better than Vinny

Hope you land him, Danny!
All you’ll have to do from that point is get yourself a Hall of Fame-caliber QB, LT, TE, C, and S before Shanny starts his first day.
Then pray to god you have a Pro Bowl-caliber WR already in place on the practice squad, and hit on a Pro Bowl-caliber (and potential HOF) RB; plus a LG, MLB, and RT in the off-season courtesy of an uncredited “GM” …. And you’re in business!
Get rid of any offensive linemen who weigh more than 280 lbs – they don’t fit “The System” – and replace them with undrafted college free agents, pay out another buttload for some useless defensive linemen – check with Eric Mangini – on the open market next year ….
