Saints slice margin to seven

Against the Saints, some leads might be safe.  A 21-point lead isn’t.

Down 24-3 in the third quarter, the Saints have roared back with two touchdowns on consecutive drives to cut the Dallas margin to seven points.

Eight minutes remain.

We’ll be updating the action here, if you don’t have NFL Network and/or a Sprint phone and/or the ability to type “NFL.com.”

Florio, if you’re so desperate to keep your readers up to date on the score of this game, get off your duff and do a live blog. Or are you too good for that now?

Saints will not win the Super Bowl with this defense..

  3. belicheckyoself says: Dec 19, 2009 11:11 PM

If the Saints win the superbowl will Shockey dump his clear
    plastic spitoon on the coach?

  4. dakotah says: Dec 19, 2009 11:12 PM

Some people are clutch (Miles Austin), some people are not (Roy Williams).

  5. Adept says: Dec 19, 2009 11:19 PM

And some people are unemployed (Nick Folk)

  6. CarolinaPatsFan says: Dec 19, 2009 11:20 PM

Is it me or does Shockey look like a reject from a Lynyrd Skynyrd cover band? And Nick Folk should have to walk back to Dallas after that atrocity.

    Or Nick Folk.
I have a feeling that if the Cowboys lose this one, the next time anyone sees Folk, under some overpass in New Orleans holding a sign that says “Will suck c*ck so I have something warm in my stomach tonight”

  8. last starfighter says: Dec 19, 2009 11:25 PM

Dallas does have a strong defense, its a mystery that they don’t win more

  9. dakotah says: Dec 19, 2009 11:27 PM

Oops. When I said some people are not clutch I meant Nick Folk.

  10. Hooby says: Dec 19, 2009 11:27 PM

so, let me see. the game is pretty much on the line with a chip shot field goal. romos the holder and a considerably talented kicker have lined up. and the one to blow it is the KICKER?!?!
    WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT????

  11. Route36West says: Dec 19, 2009 11:28 PM

They just dont have enough time to comeback. The Saints have let to many games get away from them in the first half and you knew they wouldnt be able to come back everytime. They will let the same thing happen in the playoffs and get knocked out.
Folk should be shot and hung.

Saints are so over rated just like the Cowboys. Who’d they beat. Detroit, Philly w/o Mcnabb, Buffalo, Jets, Giants, Miami, Atlanta, Carolina, St. Louis, Tampa Bay, New England, Washington and Atlanta. So how of that, they played two quality teams. New England and Philly but Philly did not have Mcnabb so that game don’t count. So they have 1 quality win all season and finally Dallas played like the Dallas team their supposed to be

    Who dat? Ware dat!

  14. dakotah says: Dec 19, 2009 11:31 PM

Another correction – when I said some people are clutch, I meant Demarcus Ware.
God, Nick Folk really, really sucks ass.

Over, baby. The guy with the broken neck ends perfection for the Aints.

  21. LiveNBreatheFootball says: Dec 19, 2009 11:37 PM

    It’s a freaking miracle.
But, Folk and Williams need to go. Cowboys won in spite of them.

  22. AbeFreshly says: Dec 19, 2009 11:37 PM

Saints’ achilles heel=LT #74 Jermon Bushrod. He looked like a slug out there. There’s the blueprint for beating them. Design your gameplan around abusing Jermon.
    It is what it is…

  23. chunky soupy sales says: Dec 19, 2009 11:38 PM

Why is Nick folk still employ by Dallas, or anyone else?
This is absolutely ridiculous, even tho Dallas did win, it should never have been to the point of NO trying to score the tying TD. Given the difficulty it will be to make the playoffs, you want Nick Folk out there with you?
Congrats to the Cowboys!! I know somehow this will become ” not a big game” to the haters.

  24. joelbcajun says: Dec 19, 2009 11:40 PM

Got spanked give it up!!! Miles Austin was the prob for sure. WHO DAT? We going to the playoffs!!!!

You kinda failed on that one, Florio. I have to think an update would have popped up by now if the result went the other way

“I have to think an update would have popped up by now if the result went the other way”
YOU said nothing but the truth! And when it did, it was that Dallas ” held them off” not ” sacked dem, made dem fumble, got dat fumble and roofed dem’s frisbee.”

  29. Streetsmart says: Dec 20, 2009 12:32 AM

    Why so quiet haters?

  30. chunky soupy sales says: Dec 20, 2009 12:55 AM

    Dat got their tongues.

  31. troll_aikman8 says: Dec 20, 2009 3:04 AM

It was great to see Shockey on the sidelines with his usual Skoal, Rum & Coke combo. Loser.
