We won’t have the complete list of pregame inactives for Saturday night’s game for a little while, but NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora has some big early news.
Saints tight end Jeremy Shockey, listed as questionable of the injury report, will be inactive because of his toe injury.
Brees loses one of his targets over the middle, but gets slot man Lance Moore back in the mix. Moore hasn’t played since Week Seven. After leading the Saints in receiving last year, Moore has only been healthy enough for 13 grabs this season.
While this is a heavily anticipated game in New Orleans, Saints coach Sean Payton smartly continues to be conservative with injured players.
Payton also sat a few borderline injury cases when the Saints hosted the Patriots. That decision worked out pretty well.

It wasn’t just one toe…it was seventeen. Seventeen shots of toe-quela, that is.
Will Shockey be in the press box pounding beers?
Yeah, who is the active kicker? Plenty of garbage, information lacking…
Has anybody commenting on this ever actually played the game? Has anybody here ever tried to push off a foot with an injured toe? Let alone cut with the foot that has the injured toe, or run block?
(Hey PhillyMike)Everything I have read so far indicates that Hartley will be kickin’. Despite his hip injury and missed PAT last week. I’ll be starting him in my pool until I hear otherwise.
I like Shockey and all, but the dude can not stay healthy….
I give him props for lasting longer than fragile freddy taylor this year….
I played the game for almost twenty years, and I had a bad toe for four of them. Shockey’s a pussy.
What happened to the left’s global warming? AGAIN!
Inactive report just came out as per NFLN.
Carney is out…Hartley in…Go Saints

I forget…….What NFL team did you play for?
The last team Shockey played for and missed games due to an injury won the Superbowl.
