If the Panthers are going to pull off an upset against Minnesota Sunday night, it will likely have to come without DeAngelo Williams
Carolina’s lead back hurt his ankle in the first half against the Vikings. He tested his ankle after halftime, but has been seen in the second half sitting on the bench with his parka on. It does not appear like Williams will return.
Jonathan Stewart and Tyrell Sutton are handling the running back chores for Carolina now. Williams rushed for 13 yards on six carries before leaving, likely crushing the hopes of many a fantasy football owners out there.
The Vikings are leading the Panthers 7-6 at the end of three quarters.
UPDATE: Steve Smith scored from 42 yards out a moment after we posted this. 12-7 Panthers.

They don’t need him, looks like Favre figured out it was Dec. you know, time to FALL APART.
It doesn’t look like they really need him. They’re blowing out the vikings anyway. Stewart looks like the best RB on the field tonight. What’s going on with Adrian Peterson this season?
