Randy Moss tells reporters: You did your talking, let me do mine

No NFL player was more heavily scrutinized in the media last week than Patriots wide receiver Randy Moss, who was ripped in some corners for dogging it on the field, while defended in other corners as having played a good game Sunday against the Carolina Panthers.

Today Moss was much more involved in the Patriots’ offense in the win over the Buffalo Bills, and after his five-catch, 70-yard, one-touchdown effort, he told the assembled reporters it was time for them to let him be the one to talk.

You did y’alls talkin’ now lemme do mine,” Moss said, per Danny Picard of CSNNE.com. “It’s been really a tough couple weeks. You move on, that’s the nature of the game. I’m happy that we got this victory. I appreciate all the support from my true fans, the players, the coaches, my family and loved ones.

“I’ve been in this league 12 years man, and I’ve been through a lot. And these shoulders that I have on my body, you can put the earth on it. So, just to let you know, I bounce back. I appreciate it.”

With that, Moss walked off without taking any questions.

T.O. – the other 81… 2 catches, 20 yards. Didn’t make two practices this week… but felt good enough to go to Toronto for a book signing.
    Which 81 is a quitter?

If he dove on that pass in the endzone early on, he probably could of had a touchdown. Anybody w/ eyes can see he doesn’t give anywhere near the effort of little Wes Welker.

Yippee 70 whole yards. Bills, the Bills, were still in the game because the O did nothing in the 4th qtr. Need a new O coordinator.

According to all those who ripped Randy Moss he is not allowed to have a bad week let alone a bad game. now people like Florio will now say see I new he was dogging it look how good he played today, you are fighting a losing battle Moss.
I wonder if the same people who ripped Moss will now say Terrell Owens was Dogging it too he was almost invisible in that game against the Pats.

As a fan of the Dallas Cowboys, much respect Randy, the media like Florio are just looking for BS stories and have nothing better to do.

Poor me……. I never take responsibility for my half hearted plays even though I am making more in one game than many people in this country make in their lifetime.
It never fails to astound me that a player like Moss cannot put forth a complete effort for 1-2 hours of offense, times a 16 game schedule for a total work week on the field of less than 40 hours a season. For 10 million dollars!
It’s an embarassment Randy! You dumb ass!

  16. runupthescore says: Dec 20, 2009 5:34 PM

Glad to hear it Randy. Just play the game man. Your teammates and Belichick and Brady know what’s on. I’ve been suffering as a Pat’s fan for 40 years (except for the last 8 years), and all I know is, I’m glad you’re a Pat. Keep it up. Playoffs coming up dude, go get ‘em.

Amen brotha… give em hell !! It’s always fun to watch and listen to people who have never played the game…try to criticize those who do……especially when the criticizers dont have the slightest clue what each players role is on a particular play (aka : main target, blocker or decoy).
    That’s Randy’s version of a “shut the F*** up ! LOL

#1: players work more than that 3 hours your a$$ sit on the couch and watch them play its called practice, meetings and film study. (etc)
#2: Randy Moss doesn’t call the plays nor is he a offensive coordinator
#3: PLEASE GET OVER YOUR FINANCIAL ENVY IT’S PATHETIC or at lease leave it out of your post

Remember all his catches in the 2007 playoffs and Super Bowl? I think there were like three.

Yes, because NFL players just sit around all week and then show up to play on Sunday.

Having watched every Pats game of his career it seems to me like Brady’s hand is hurt. He was very innacurate. I think a lot of people are overlooking the possibility that maybe Brady is more of the problem this year than Moss. Hopefully he’ll be better by playoff time or the Patriots will be a one and done team.

Can we please stop using the phrase “could of”. The word you are trying to type is could’ve, as in could have.
I am assuming that most of you are able to understand the internet (or you accidentally found your way to PFT, which is a shame because of all the other freakish shit you could have found on the net by mistake) that you are operating at something at least close to a middle school education.

  36. Greg from Louisiana says: Dec 20, 2009 8:23 PM

Its clear who the morons are. I am well aware Moss practices and puts in more time that just game time.
So dog it in practice Moss. Does he have to dog it in the 40 hours per season required of him to actually play in games. Can’t the immature loser actually put forth some effort in the games he plays? He gets a game check, not a practice check!
I love Moss because I am a Vikings fan and got NFL Sunday Ticket his rookie season, but it doesn’t alter the fact he is a spoiled immature asshole.

Moss is old and good. He is a hard working skinny freak. Amazing how much chatter he generated with one terrible football game last week. He’s obviously a great teammate, well respected and trying hard to play his game. Florio go back to Junior High school, because I think you really miss that level of rational discourse

A few days after Brandon Marshall catches 21 passes and Randy Moss is getting his chest puffed out about 5 receptions?
Randy Moss caught 5 passes and thinks his work here is done?
Randy Moss, you caught 5 passes. If you did that every game this season you would still have less passes than 4 tight ends and a running back!
Now Moss is having a pretty solid year but lets not get all puffed out after a mediocre game and pretend like we didn’t puss out the week before. You DID puss out the week before and a mediocre week doesn’t make up for it.
Now… if you go 10 for 140 next week than you can talk a little. But 5 for 70?!… child, please.

Here’s a better way to look at his performance. Moss caught almost half of Brady’s completions, and accounted for 62.5 percent of the Patriots 112 yards. Plus he drew a long interference penalty that set up a score. If Brady has just an average game you more than have your 10 for 140 threshold. But I suppose it was Moss’ fault Brady had a mediocre performance.

  42. Topher says: Dec 21, 2009 9:47 AM

I’ve got a better way of looking at Moss’ performance. How about if he didn’t have three drops he would have gone 8-115.
Moss lovers need to recognize that the Patriots game plan was to force feed Moss balls and he came out of the game 5-70.
That sort of production will certainly land you as a spot on the Pro Bowl squad.
    As second alternate.

    ______________
Typical Pats fan ball washing post. Bottom line is that for all the firestorm from last week, catching 5 passes for a measly 70 yards and one score is a JOKE. Even more of a joke is Brady’s mediocre performance, that after calling the rest of the team out for not producing earlier this season. But then again, you Pats fan crotchsniffers always try and make excuses for your MEDIOCRE team, a team that STILL hasn’t beaten ONE SINGLE GOOD TEAM this season, and won’t for the rest of the way.
    GFY, suckalottadingdongs.
