The fan votes for the 2010 Pro Bowl have all been cast, and tabulated.
And if the fans had the full say in composing the team, the NFC could basically just send the Minnesota Vikings. (Maybe Favre could coach?)
The Vikings led the fan voting in ten of the 19 NFC positions, including all three offensive line spots — tackle, guard, and center. (The same offensive line nearly got Favre killed Sunday night and has led the way to a lesser Adrian Peterson season.)
The leading vote getters can be seen in full on NFL.com, but it’s important to remember the fans only account for one-third of the Pro Bowl selection process. NFL players and coaches make up the rest.
Peyton Manning edged out Drew Brees as the top total vote getter, with 1,545,642 votes. The team will be announced December 29, on NFL Network.
We’re happy to announce the PFT crew will be in Miami this year to cover the Pro Bowl, assuming our mothers let us out of the basement.
I say this as a lifetime Vikings fan:
What a joke.
que douchy comment from bob and jimmy, who never fail to impress.
we also know the reason behind the flurry of vikes postings today, it was to steal the thunder from this.
Fans are smart people outside of wisconsin, and their voices should be heard. Especially considering that the vikings market is on the smaller side of things, this is pretty impressive, way to go vikes, but its a real shame that none of you will play in the probowl this year. oh well, maybe next year they’ll move it back after the SB, then you can play in it.
this happens every year a team does well, regardless if the players are deserving or not. it is a popularity contest now and has lost it’s luster to be a pro bowler now. i recall when the eagles had a great season it was the same way, guys going who did nto have pro bowl seasons.
I don’t remember the exact year (05? 06?) but the Cowgirls had 13 pro bowlers. What does that have to do with this year’s Vikings?
The Cowboys didn’t win a playoff game that year either.
LMAO Troy Polamalu is the leading vote getter for AFC SS… hilarious
I’d like to formally withdraw my Bryant McKinnie vote after watching Julius Peppers abuse him on Sunday night.
viking fans do not have jobs, they live in Mom’s basement and play on the internet all day(see: pervy harvin) so they have time to vote over and over. I’m very surprised they know how to work a computer, it’s probably their snow beagle pushing the buttons for them!
Didn’t Bryant McKinnie, who happens to be for some reason the leading voter at LT for the NFC, get benched just this past Sunday night because he kept getting torched by Julius Peppers? Sorry but if McKinnie is such Pro Bowl material, then he wouldn’t of gotten benched.
The reason Viking fans voted for 10 of their players?
They know that the Vikings players will be free (and eligible) to play in the Pro Bowl.
What’s next? Brad Childress for coach of the year?
Whatever it’s all bullshit. I’m just glad it’s only 1/3 of the final decision.
“We’re happy to announce the PFT crew will be in Miami this year to cover the Pro Bowl, assuming our mothers let us out of the basement.”
Wait, I heard this years Pro Bowl is actually a “dip-shit free” event. Sorry, you guys (& Captain Numb Nuts) can’t go.
What a Joke! JarHead Allen is about the most OVER-RATED DE on the planet. Other than the gifts the Packers gave him, he has been a non-factor in all other games. Look it up Queens, he’s an overpaid Viqueen.
Oh snap, look at Jimmy waste his life by continuing to be one of the first posters on every Vikings post. Does this clown hit refresh every minute just praying that a Vikes post by Lord Florio pops up… HAHA, WHAT A LOSER!
FYI – I wrote in Jimmy’s mother as starting O-lineman for the NFC, I guess shes not starting
When you travel, make sure Florio has an updated spellchecker, basic grammar and sentence structure software. Maybe mom can upgrade his software from Windows Vista. Lord knows he needs help.
Look at all of the Packers on that list. Ted Thompson is doing a whale of a job.

No it is not pretty impressive. It’s a joke, moron. Every one of those stupid Viking fans thinks that now that the Vikings have a good record, they can vote every Viking into the Pro Bowl when about half of them don’t even deserve a spot at all.
I also find it funny that a Viking ‘fan’ like yourself calls Wisconsin dumb when in reality, Viking ‘fans’ are the stupidest ‘fans’ on the planet. There is a reason to why the Viking crap is among the most sold and that is because the Vikings are finally doing well and their ‘fans’ are coming out from under their rock and cheering them on. Once they start losing again though, they will disappear and not come back funtil they starting winning. Once they do come back, then they act like they actually know football and call themselves Viking ‘fans’ for 30+ years.
Any Viking ‘fan’ who says they have been a fan for over 30 years is clearly lying. Probably the longest time someone has been a Viking ‘fan’ is one year.
That’s ten more Vikings than will be playing in the Super Bowl.

This from a fan of the team that wins the Campbell Soup Click for a Can contest every year.LMAO
No, your team’s fans are stupider than my team’s fans!!
No one on the Vikes’ O-line, including Hutchinson, deserves Pro Bowl consideration. And that’s not even based on the lousy performance against Carolina.
I know I’m wasting my time, but Mrcmos, you either don’t know squat about football or must not have watched the Viking’s games if you claim Allen has been a non-factor. Although I think he leads the NFC in sacks, his value ain’t based on that number alone (even if 7 of them were generated from the Pack’s crappy O-line).
Fans count for 1/3 of the vote, which is fine since the Pro Bowl is put on for our enjoyment. But if that’s the case, players should not have financial incentives tied to making the Pro Bowl.

Small? Give me a break. From Wikipedia:
“Minneapolis-St. Paul-St. Cloud, MN-WI with an estimated population of 3.5 million people in 2006, ranked the 13th most populous in the U.S.”
3.5 Million people and you can’t even sell out the Dome most games. Minnesota ranks dead last in NFL revenue per team (http://www.forbes.com/lists/2008/30/sportsmoney_nfl08_NFL-Team-Valuations_Revenue_2.html) because Minnesotans are terrible fans. Not because the market is “small.”

What a crock…Favre absolutely sucks. Philip Rivers should be the third QB, not Favre. What has he done lately besides retire and come back every season.

Should we break this down for a second or just chalk it up as you just don’t like the Vikings and 95% of their fans.
“ON THE PLANET” You must be the first Packers fan to visit every team from every sport, while holding a 2 day meet and greet with their fans. This must have taken you some time and not to mention $$$ which I’m sure someone as powerful as you can achieve.
If you don’t mind sharing your photobucket page with all of us, I’m sure we would love to look at all the photos you have taken with the better fans of the world. I need to ask you because I’m curious. How are the women in Amsterdam? I’ve heard some crazy stories and I’m sure you did your fair share of “exploring” if you know what I mean, eh partner! That is unless you are Bi-curious, which there’s nothing wrong with. Then I must ask, how did the fellas treat you out at the local pubs? Anyone care to buy such a frisky man a brew or 2 and due to their overwhelming kindness you must have taken them up on their offer to stay the night at ones home. No one likes a drunk driver and you being from Wisconsin, you understand that it’s not okay to do. So how is the european architecture, is it much different from your own home… you know, sheet metal siding so that the suns powerful “rays” reflect off and melt the snow quickly. Gotta say you sconies are thinkers. Let me know asap because I am a firm believer in getting to know thy neighbor and I’m dying to see all of your pics from traveling the world while meeting a bunch of new, awesome people “fans” along the way.
And all ten will play!
Going to vote for a publicly funded stadium to keep the team from moving to L.A. Viking fans?
Enjoy your American Idol moment.
Once again someone makes the claim that the Vikings can’t sellout home games, and once again a person with their head on their shoulders needs to give the real facts:
The Vikings have not had a blackout since 1997. Have there been close calls? Yes. But the same can be said of most teams in the NFL.

cusoman, if you call the local Fox affiliate buying up a few thousand seats each week just to avoid a blackout, then congrats, you’ve “sold out” every game. You got me. Because before this year, that was the lead news story before every home game. “Tickets still available….” The only reason this year has been sold out each week is that as soon as Favre signed, the Vikes made Packers-Vikes tickets only available as part of season ticket packages, and speculators bought them all up. Most of those speculators have taken big losses, btw, because as non-Minnesotans they didn’t understand the market. That is, they didn’t understand that Minnesota fans couldn’t care less about actually attending a game and would rather watch at home. Think I’m making that up? Go find a professional ticket scalper and ask. They don’t touch Minnesota sports with a 10 foot pole.

R. Babe,
Are you for real?
If thats what you call getting “facts”, you officially suck at the internet.
1. The Vikings have sold out every game since 1997.
2. As for the 13th biggest market? Your “facts” are wrong, considering there are roughly 5 million residents in the entire state of Minnesota, and the #’s you are using include Wisconsin? RIIIIGHT!!!
3. The Vikings revenue is low do to the fact they also have a lower price of tickets in the NFL, along with a small venue. For being at the bottom of the food chain in the NFL the past 4 years, the back to back Divisional titles look pretty impressive.
Also, the fact that San Diego County alone has 3 million residents, and they can barely keep one of the best teams in the NFL out of blackout trouble, I think the Vikings are doing just fine.
Maybe we should look at the Chargers and the 4 other teams who have had repeated issues with blackouts this year.
I’ll clue you in, the Vikes are not one of those teams
The Vikings are the best team in the NFL & there going to win another Superbowl this year!
Hello, is this thing on?
@ Gregg Rosenthal- Thanks for posting my shit dude!! Happy Hanukkah! BTW-Soofganiot and latkas are pretty damn tasty!!
they have sold out for ten years straight they are last in revenue because the dome sucks. I love how fans think they are better fans because they have new stadiums that have over priced seats
@favresux – Sorry dude, meant 401K. Was typing while your Mom was …well, you know.
Franchise, yes I am for real.
1. I said “in danger of being blacked out.” They’ve sold out games only because a) the FOX network buys tickets to avoid a blackout and b) the Vikes only sell high-demand game tickets (eg Packers) in multi-game packages. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that the dome isn’t full each week. Ever been to a game?
2. My facts are correct, Minneapolis-St Paul is a large metro area. If you have a problem with this fact, take it up with the census bureau. FACT: Of the 32 teams in the league, the Vikings play in one of the larger metro areas.
3. Thanks for proving my point. Ticket prices reflect demand. Low demand = low ticket prices. Maybe you should get off the internet and take a class in basic Economics, hmm?
As to San Diego – well, they also have terrible fans. What, are you saying that your fans are not quite as terrible as their fans? Because honestly, I don’t see how anything you wrote can be read as anything other than support of my point. Which was, in case you missed it: 3.5 million people and FOX has to buy a few thousand tickets each week. Shame.
Some of the comments on here just make you laugh your ass off. Like the one by R.Babe – The Vikings have now sold out 122 CONSECUTIVE games. If you are not stupid, then you’d know what CONSECUTIVE means. Of course, if you are stupid, then I’m not your dictionary. What was meant in that comment by DocBG you commented on is the economic troubles of Minnesota. Do some research or something before you blab your mouth off next time.
Also, Minnesota ranks dead last in revenue because of their stadium. A new stadium would put them up much higher than they are now.
And believe me on this, Minnesotans are not terrible fans (as I’m not even a ‘Minnesotan’), people like you are terrible fans.
~~~bob nelson is a idiot says:
they have sold out for ten years straight they are last in revenue because the dome sucks. I love how fans think they are better fans because they have new stadiums that have over priced seats
~~~
And 30 years ago the excuse was that Metropolitan Stadium sucked b/c it was too cold there.
Let me guess – Minnesota lost the Lakers and the Northstars because their venues sucked too, right?
That you call tickets “overpriced” is symptomatic of the problem. Other teams have more expensive tickets because people are willing to pay more money to see their teams play. Despite having an above average average income, Minnesotans are not willing to pay money to see their team play. That’s why your prices are low, einstein.
Hey Pervy ,
Did you just get booted again?
I was so broken up over our last loss that I had to go ice fishing!
Check these stats out!
three people fishing
4 10 inch bluegills
1 15 inch crappie
3 crappies over 12 inches
no panfish taken under 7 inches
+1 17lb. Northern Pike!
Everyone limited out on the trip
suck it packer fans-tell me you can beat that and i want stats and lake info!
This season aint over=God I Hate The Packers So Much!
@R.Babe
You want to split hairs? Fine.
1. No NFL Stadium is at full capacity each week. None. FOX has bought no tickets to avoid a blackout this year. None.
2. What the hell is your point? Maybe Minnesotans are too busy making this one of the larger and better places to live in the world than spending money on every. single. game. An addict does not a fan make.
3. Demand is not the only factor in ticket pricing. Why don’t YOU go take a basic class in microeconomics.
Vinateri was the top vote getting AFC kicker?
Intelligent fans. He was hurt the whole first half of the season.
I guess that explains all the Vikings on the list.
pervis will some day come up with her own material!
packers4life:
Dude, you disintegrate any validity of any post you’ve ever left on this site by that statement.
I’m one of the sorry assed Viking fans that have been rooting for them since 1972. The Chiefs Superbowl was just right before my time.
In other words I’ve been cheering on this club since long before you were shitting yellow.
I’ve bitched, pissed and moaned and nearly blown blood vessels in my head when they stunk it up. And I’ve screamed and thrown myself around the room when they’ve succeeded. But I have never wavered in my commitment to this organization. As you relish your packers, likewise for me and my vikings.
And yes, I realize it’s only a game….but football is som FUUNN shit.
Well I guess that’s the way they will get to Miami.
I may be missing part of the argument but the Vikings are probably going to be the team that goes to LA because it would make the most fiscal sense. And don’t think I’m just pulling this out or am somehow biased. I am a Niner fan and want a team in LA to have a rivalry again, but a bad team not a team like the Vikings. The Lions, Browns, Rams are all more than welcome however.
Hey Minnesota, I live here and R. Babe has you by the balls. 3.5Million in the 7 county metro. 13th largest market. And don’t even start with, “there is much more to do here than Vikes football.”
Get out of here, kids. There is nothing special about Mpls/St. Paul. Go to Milwaukee, Madison or Chicago and thats just what’s within 5 hours. You people are just bad fans. Simple.
@Valhalla-Did you just post that? Some people here actually fish. Which lake would you want where I could direct anyone to put those numbers up in an afternoon? Stop making Minnesotans look bad.
pervis, are you sitting on your greased pickle again? she loves those pickles!
“The Vikes beat the Pack”= Minnesotan for “The Vikes won their Super Bowl.”
Way to go, guys. Guess what? Packers #1 rival is still Chicago.
@Cusoman- We’ve been over this before. Microecon 101 is not the answer. Poor fan base is. The class you are looking for is Meteorology as it relates to fair weather.
In a related story, Minnesota leads the way in states holding residents who are unemployed.(jk Minnesota residents).
I’m no good at Pro Bowl voting. I vote half on performance and half on affection (or respect or admiration). I don’t PLAN it that way, but the pattern is clear.
Every year it’s the same thing. I wish they would just take my clicker away.
Besides which, I’ve never understood how an event that is purported to recognize the best in the professional ranks, hands off one-third of the votes to a bunch of amateurs (us, like it or not).
I guess the idiots in minnesota finally figured how to use a computer !!!!!!
“Maybe Minnesotans are too busy making this one of the larger and better places to live in the world than spending money on every. single. game. An addict does not a fan make.”
If people in Minnesota are more concerned about making Minneapolis a better place to live than to spend some money to go to a Viking game, then there is no point of keeping the Vikings there.
Crappy dome or no crappy dome, if people there really cared about the Vikings, they will go to as many games as possible to support them. There are worse stadiums in the league but they manage to sell out games. Candlestick Park is turning into garbage but you rarely hear about them not selling out.
Who cares about Pro Bowls?
On to other news. I just listened to a podcast called Packershow. They were complaining about being screwed by the refs in the Steeler game. Imagine that, a Packer fan complaining and crying.
@Ruvell100
This posture that going to a live game every week there is a home game, makes a person a fan is utter nonsense. I understand that supporting the team is important, but you can do this in other ways. The NFL’s sole source of revenue is NOT game tickets.
What makes you think YOUR definition of a fan is any more accurate than someone else’s? Even in the losing years, I watch every game on TV, I buy merchandise, I talk the team up and follow them in the offseason, and comment on web sites about what I think about certain bits of news (much like Packer fans’ favorite past time, commenting on Vikings stories), but I unfortunately can only afford to go to one home game every 2 years. That’s the way things are and nothing short of winning the lottery or a promotion at my job is going to change that, because I have more important responsibilities to uphold. But in the end, I am a Vikings fan.
There are countless more in the same situation as me, and just because they can’t make it to most games, that makes them less of a fan? Get over yourself, you do not dictate who is and isn’t a fan. Your overarching stereotypes are why so many people see Packer fans as close-minded individuals with nothing better to do than eat, sleep, and breathe football. Get over yourself.
What a joke. After this year, no Viking offensive line, except maybe Hutchinson deserves a spot in the probowl. Tahi doesn’t deserve a spot either.
Who do deserve in my opinion are;
Adrian Peterson
Percy Harvin
Ryan Longwell
Heath Farwell
That’s it. No other Viking deserves anything after another choke, and the offensive line like I have been saying is garbage this year in the run, and the last few weeks have been garbage in the pass game.. This really, really saddens me.
Valhalla – Dude,I fish as a guide. If you caught those….please email me the lake LOL Won’t say you lying…i catch plenty of big fish like that, got a 16″ crappie the other day. 10″ bluegills though…want me some of those..LOL
Vikes fans, we could brag too if our ancestors from the 40′s and 50′s ensured that the stadium was sold out for years to come, and how quaint, the tickets could be handed down to family members.
What I find amusing, is these ” great” Packer fans, on a weekly basis, have pages and pages od tickets for sale on stub hub and sites of the same nature.
The morons on here would have us believe that every game is sold out and it’s all the original owners of the tickets.
They are hypocrites plain and simple.
I caught a buddy of mine at this, and he said Packer fans selling tickets for large profit was ok,
If the Vikes did that, well we are horrible fans.
You will never win with these turds, it is an exercise in futility.
If you corner them on something and prove them wrong, they will just ask you how many super bowls you won, tottally off subject, but it doesn’t matter.
That is thier stock fall back response.
It is like arguing with Rain man.
Vikes are great this year
Ten minutes to Wapner.
Think we will go deep into the playoffs….
Packers have won 3 super bowls , yea definitely.
And Adam I Mail my shitterson is their fearless leader.
Anybody that needs some shit mailed to them for christmas, just ask Adam, he has a surplus he’s trying to get rid of.
That time of year I guess….inventory.
@Cusoman- I’m not taking that stance at all. I make it to one game at Lambeau a year, because like you said, going to a game each week is not realistic. I’m sure you’re a good fan. I know plenty of Vikes fans that have stuck with them since the 70′s.
That said, looking at the demographics, they simply should not be struggling the way they are. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard, “We have Fortune 500 companies, tall buildings, great jobs.” Where is this money going? Why are corporate sponsorships buying these tickets up to avoid blackouts?
I understand that it’s Minnesota, so as a business, they are in tax hell. What would you expect? Minnesotans solution is to vote Al Franken into the senate. You can say Wisconsinites are hicks, but at least the majority of us have the balls/pride to say and take what we want. We did boo Jim Doyle out of the Bucks game!
“They were complaining about being screwed by the refs in the Steeler game. Imagine that, a Packer fan complaining and crying.”

Sorry, Valhalla. I re-read your earlier post and was under the impression that you only put 7 on the ice. My fault. Gills are not my thing anymore, but I fish crappies in the spring and through the ice. Hit em pretty good on Saturday, 2 limits between 3 of us, minnows on red hooks off the breaks in about 18fow. All between 9-14″.
I confess, I am a musky guy, though, so you’re not going to get a lot of bluegill talk out of me. Used to catch bulls off the beds in the spring in an earlier life. Caught the musky bug 12 years ago and that was it. I still fish the Croix and Pool 4 a lot and I make a trip to the Fox for eyes in the spring. I also fish 2 weekends late April/early May for crappies in northern Minnesota.
You’d be surprised to know that on some of the larger MN and WI lakes, your average crappie in the spring will run 12-14. 16+ happens daily. You should give it a try.
