Ben Graham wins NFC special teams POW award

Arizona’s exciting 31-24 win over the Lions, which featured the Cardinals building then blowing a 17-point lead, produced an unlikely hero.

Punter Ben Graham, the NFC special teams player of the week.

The Aussie kicked the non-Australian rules football seven times for 352 yards, including three that landed inside the Detroit 20.  His net average of 45.4 yards per punt was fewer than five yards behind his gross average.

Four of the kicks covered more than 50 yards, including a 64-yarder.

Some of the other players of the week in the NFC and AFC will likely be trickling out today, with a full announcement from the league coming Wednesday.

Chuck Norris could kick Ben Graham 64 yards with a round-kick to the abdomen.

I’ll go out on a limb and guess that Josh Cribbs will win the AFC award this week.

Where is the headline for NFC DPOW? It was announced yesterday. Wonder why you won’t post about it!
