Chargers do center shuffle

Chargers center Nick Hardwick suffered an ankle injury in Week One.  He hasn’t played since.

Scott Mruczkowski slid over from guard to handle the duties.  He’s done so well that the Chargers have been reluctant to rush Hardwick back.

But now they’ve got no choice.

Mruczkowski suffered an ankle injury on the game-winning drive against the Bengals on Sunday, and he has been placed on injured reserve.

The Chargers have replaced Mruczkowski with veteran center Eric Ghiaciuc, who was cut by the Chiefs after training camp.

Ghiaciuc spent four seasons with the Bengals, starting all 16 games in 2008.

    Hey Joe in Toronto,
Good luck with double A-gap blitz without Thornton and Bullock.
Try it and watch Gates get the hot read for 30 yards.

Marty should tell Norv that a 13-3 record will still get ya fired when you invariably fail in the playoffs.
We all see this one coming…..

I can help but wonder how many of you haters are fans of an NFC football team. Maybe you just cant stand the fact that even the Bengals are better than ANY team in the NFC.

BostonISaChraphole: The AFC North is better than the rest of the AFC and (of course) the entire NFC. When was the last time S.D. contended for the AFC? I guess it was back in the late 80′s when they Fout’ed in the cold weather.

  15. Beauregard says: Dec 23, 2009 12:58 AM

Ummm… How many NFC teams has San Diego EVER beat in the playoffs??
Hint: That would be ZERO, the same number of Superbowl victories these bunch of underachievers have.

Nobody has even noticed that the bengals rookie center kyle cook is doing a ten-fold better job than eric gut-sack did. I remember when he got to kansas city, he said chads was a distraction to the team and etc. Chad replied by saying “his play is a distraction, hes terrible”….. ROFL. Go chargers, keep scraping up players the bengals have cut, trust me we look for the best in everybody and only cut the worst of the worst.
